Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder)

A mental disorder in which the patient has two or more identities and personalities at the same time, and his behavior is dominated by his multiple personalities.

Most patients have depression, anxiety (sweating, rapid pulse, palpitations), fear , panic attacks, physical discomfort, eating disorders, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Suicidal ideation, attempts, and self-injury are common.

Personality switching and intermittent amnestic disorders often make the patient's personal life a mess. Due to the interaction between the different personalities, patients with dissociative disorders often report hearing internal dialogue and other personality comments and voices directed at the patient.
