Chapter 18
(eighteen)
"Good night, Aunt Christine." Yeoerman opened the door of the taxi for Aunt Christine very gentlemanly. He bent down, leaned close to Christine's ear, and said in a very low voice, "Don't worry, Bella is just too tired." After hearing Christine's almost inaudible "um", he finally straighten up.
"Ah, by the way, which hotel are you staying at?"
"Baltimore."
"Baltimore," Yeorman repeated, as if casually.
"Let's have breakfast together tomorrow, just the two of us." Kerstin still suggested to Bestella unwillingly.
"Besides, my morning headaches are getting worse."
Yeoerman told the driver, "Drive slowly." But Ymir's voice came from next to his ear, "Aunt Christine, why don't you stay overnight? You made this night much more interesting."
"Oh, thank you, my dear Ymir. But old people need to be alone and rest. Good night, sweetheart."
Yeoerman turned his head, just in time to see Aunt Christine secretly stuffing a small ball of paper into Ymir's palm in a hugging gesture.
I really don't give up.He thought so.
Through the speeding car, Aunt Christine watched the three people gradually move away from her.
"Is there any hotel in town besides Baltimore?"
"And Rosati, madam."
"Just go there."
Christine sat in a chair in the hotel, feeling inexplicably restless. She had a gut feeling out of nowhere that kept reminding her that tonight was going to be a rough night.
"When there is not enough food, there is no love between brothers. It knows that this nest cannot accommodate a younger brother." A wildlife special is playing on the TV, as if it is talking about a bird that likes cannibalism.
"Sibling rivalry seems cruel, but it's just for the sake of the overall situation." Christine didn't want to watch it, but heard this sentence suddenly. She lifted the quilt with a heavy heart and lay down in it.
"The black eagle is very patient. It can hover in the sky for hours, quietly waiting for the best time to attack."
Christine jumped out of bed suddenly. She wanted to make a call to Ymir, and touched her pocket, but found that her mobile phone was not there.
"Did someone find a mobile phone?" She called the front desk from the landline in the guest room. "I think I lost it when I checked in."
"Sorry, we didn't see it."
"Are you sure?"
"Oh, all right. And, wait! What's the first number to dial to get to Gond Manor outside town?"
"alright, thank you very much."
According to what the other party said, Christine caught up with the call from Ymir's house after 9.There was a "hissing" sound from the other end, but the phone was not connected.
Maybe there's something wrong with the wiring.she thought.
Fortunately, there was a public phone outside the hotel, and Christine found it within a few steps. She pressed the number again, and this time she got through easily.
"Beep, beep, beep, beep." No one answered the phone.
It's so late, where did everyone go?
The night in late autumn has become chilly, and the temperature difference between inside and outside has covered the glass of the phone booth with a layer of white mist.
Vaguely, Christine seemed to see someone walking slowly towards this side. The man walked gracefully and unhurriedly, as if he was going to a gorgeous feast.
Christine wiped off some of the fog with her hands, trying to see who was coming, but the door of the phone booth was opened at this moment.
Appearing at the door was Yorman who was covered in cold air.He was wearing iron-on stickers for a formal suit, his blond hair was neatly tied back, and even his bow tie was neatly tied.
Christine shivered involuntarily. She shrank slightly into the phone booth, and looked at Yeorman who was walking towards her in a little panic.
"You said you lived in Baltimore." Yeoerman put away his usual smile, as if he was disappointed, his dark blue eyes were fixed on Christine. "But you are here." He paused, and then said, "I'll call the taxi company." He put his hand in his pocket and took another step forward.
Christine staggered and took another step back, pressing his back against the cold wall.
Yeorman took out a mobile phone from his pocket and handed it to Aunt Christine.
Christine took the cell phone that she couldn't find before, and she was slightly relieved.
"Then, there are only two of us left now. There is something I want to talk to you about." Joelman slowly took off his gloves and put them in his pocket.
He walked over slowly, put those hands with well-defined joints and slender fingers on the neck of Aunt Christine, who was already speechless in shock, and tightened them bit by bit.
Aunt Christine only had time to see that the palms of those hands, which should have been extremely beautiful and enviable, had a disgusting and horrifying look of flesh and blood, full of scars.
