Star Trek
Chapter 2
.
"I can't understand why you are crying." Hei Watermelon spoke. He was not much older than Jim, and his childish voice was clear and pleasant without any ups and downs, like a robot; Jim remembered the robot kitty he had at home, and it was crushed by Sam, and he cried for 10 minutes because of it.
"Go away, I don't want to talk to you." Jim waved his hands back and forth in his ear like chasing flies.
Black Watermelon sat beside him.Even with his eyes tightly shut, Jim felt the unbalanced weight of the chair; he moved a little to the side to make room for the strange child, and buried his still crying face in his hands.
"You are very sad." Black Watermelon said. "One of the characteristics of human infants is to express emotions by crying."
"I'm not some 'human toddler,'" he argues, forgetting his frustration, lifting his face, tear-stained, "I'm Jim."
"James T. Kirk, youngest son of Generals George Kirk and General Winona Kirk—"
"Stop, I don't need you to introduce my family." Jim huffed, forgetting to cry, "Introduce yourself."
"SpockS'chnT'gai, chaSarek, my parents were invited to your birthday party, and I came with them from Vulcan."
"It's not my birthday." The child said angrily, "I hate birthdays."
The kid named Spock raised an eyebrow. "That's illogical. Human children usually have a paranoid fondness for birthday parties."
"I said I'm not a human toddler, I'm Jim."
Spock didn't speak anymore, and the two children sat in the chair together in a daze. Spock watches the grass cover his shoes while Jim curls himself up, wrapping his arms around his knees; a position he's known since he was a kid to feel safe.
Children are always quick to meet new people and always transfer emotions. After a while, the cloud on Jim's face had dissipated a lot, and he took out a crumpled wrapping paper from his pocket: "Do you want some chocolate?" He stopped crying, but still had a strong nasal voice.
Black Melon—no, Spock—faces scathingly: "Chocolate is to Vulcans—"
"Eat a piece." The human child's final voice was soft, his nose was red, and his eyes were red, which made his eyes blue and transparent, like washed sapphires.
The Vulcan kid stuttered. Sa-mekh repeatedly warned that chocolate would have a negative effect on the Vulcan's mental center, but--a little bit of it will be fine, right?
Spock gives in and bites off half of the chocolate as Jim reaches out to him.It is bitter and sweet, and has a wonderful taste.
"what is this?"
"Sa-mekh was taught to me 1.6 months ago. It's a Vulcan way of communicating and uniquely healing. I'm assuming it can ease your mental agitation as well."
"Oh, yes, thanks—what's that?"
"I... don't know. I've never seen it exist before."
"Maybe you didn't notice. It's beautiful. May I touch it?"
"It is permissible."
"—do you feel it? It...it looks happy!"
"Yeah, it's amazing. I've never—it's never been like this."
"Wow. It's... so it's because of me?"
"Maybe. I can't confirm, but there is a great possibility that this change is caused by you."
"It's so pretty."
"indeed."
A seed is quietly sprouting. It is small and tough, shining like a star.

2.【Spirk】White Lie
He sat on the edge of the bed swinging his legs, the warm sunset light penetrated into the old house in the evening, seeped into the floor, and spun around his feet.Boring, he raised his feet to catch them, then lowered them, raised them again, and continued until the ray of light slipped out of his reach.
Jim Kirk's ten-year-old summer vacation, only one person at home.
He changed his posture, lying on the bed, flipping through a thick, dusty paper book (an antique written by someone three centuries ago) that he found in the study room, with the help of the setting sun in the room The last bit of brightness in the book turned a few pages.Half of his mind was reading, and the other half—that was an invitation from Frank earlier, a vacation invitation to Tarsus IV.Of course his stepfather was not so kind to let him enjoy an unparalleled wonderful vacation, Frank just wanted to kick him away: so that the man could have a disgusting drunk party at home without any scruples; and, go to Tarsu The cost of Si IV is low.
Since Mom went on another five-year mission to deep space, Frank has a way of taking advantage of the lucrative credits she's earned. It's not that Jim can't resist this annoying guy, he just doesn't want Mommy to worry.
PADD, who had been lying silent for a long time, suddenly let out a "ding".It was the sound of mail. Jim sprang up from the bed, knelt down on the head of the bed and grabbed the PADD to open it—the joy on his face was quickly dimmed by the caller: No, it wasn't Sam.
The brother promised him an email every week (maybe every month, maybe Jim got it wrong), but Sam didn't really deliver on it.In the past three months, Jim has only received two letters, describing the outside world with a few figures - how beautiful the world is without Frank, and looking forward to Jim joining him soon.
Of course Jim wouldn't. One of the Kirk family always has to stay here, with their old house. And of course that person can't be Frank.
Jim wanted to drag the mail into the trash can, but hesitated in the middle of moving his fingers: the letter is from—Vulcan Academy of Sciences?
He clicks on it.
"Dear Mr. James Tiberius Kirk:
Your application form has been received. It is an honor to inform you that you are one of the last 20 shortlisted. We sincerely invite you to participate in the 60 standard-day Vulcan-Earth Exchange Summer Camp held by our institute, and look forward to having you as a part of us.
Yours sincerely,
T'Java
Vulcan Academy of Sciences. "
Whoa, what is this?
Mr. James TiberiusKirk was a little dazed, and spent 20 seconds recalling the damn invitation letter—oh, he remembered, he had indeed filled out some messy registration forms two months ago, and it was Frank who stuffed them into him. Expect him to - how to put it - "get as far away as possible" earlier. He didn't even read the content of some registration forms, such as this Vulcan Academy of Sciences.
Of course he knew what the Vulcan Academy of Sciences was. VSA, one of the top research institutes of the Star Federation, held an exchange event for the first time this summer, and for some unclear reason, it was rare to condescend to be willing to contact the children of Earth. And Jim is one of those lucky 20 kids.
To be honest, he is not very clear whether he is really interested in participating in a lot of scientific research activities. He bet that even the entertainment facilities on Vulcan must be used to assist in uncovering the Kiel identity (of course this does not mean that he is Keele's identity). But——Jim returned PADD to the beginning, and clicked on the vacation plan of Tarsus IV again: seaside, sunshine, sandy beach, rainforest... They look attractive enough, and they are indeed a good place for a family vacation. It's a pity that Jim doesn't have any "family", he only has one person.
Moreover, Vulcan Summer Camp does not need to pay any fees, and the time is longer. Frank would love the idea, Jim thought, wouldn't he?
He also didn't want to annoy Frank all the time, and while he didn't care what the guy thought, he didn't want to upset Mom.In the fourth year of marriage to Frank—after his eighth year—Mum was always sad.
Jim had secretly seen Winona in the room staring at a hologram of his father—the one named Kirk—and he wondered if she was crying because Frank came in and had a big fight with her.In the second week, she accepted the five-year mission of the Croro.
Now Jim Kirk is ten years old.Mom will be back in three years, my brother may not be back for a long time, maybe he will come back tomorrow, and Dad—Dad will never come back.
While the Vulcan shouldn't have shown any obvious mood swings, Syran couldn't help but be amazed that Jim Kirk was such an odd little guy in the midst of 20 kids and their massive send-off procession.
The selected exchange team ranges in age from 7 to 15 years old, and there are also some other races besides the earthlings, and what these children (except Kirk) have in common is that one person participates in the family's farewell. No one goes on vacation to Vulcan, and many haven't even seen many Vulcans, they simply know the VSA's reputation.Oh, earth-style education.
But Jim doesn't
