“Stand down. Let’s see what he wants,” said Ling Chuxi to Lan Xinyu. Chuxi was actually a little surprised. This person had clearly escaped, so wasn’t he courting death by coming back? But he didn’t look like he was crazy.

He had told Mr Cockeye to stop speaking, but in all honesty, it was more painful to listen to Ah Bei speak.

“Okay, stop talking. I understand. As long as I let go of your brother, you’ll give these things to me, right?” said Ling Chuxi quickly interrupted him by finishing his sentence. She was getting both anxious and annoyed by his speech.

“Yes, yes, yes, yes.” The man nodded repeatedly. Fortunately, he could not tell that he was stammering, so he did not have to put in so much effort.

“Ah Bei, no! Those are for your treatment. Just leave quickly, please.” Mr Cockeye shouted at Ah Bei anxiously.

She was really afraid of him!

“I-I want to say it!” The man was so excited that he insisted on finishing what he wanted to say.

“If you dare to say another word, I will kill your brother right now,” said Ling Chuxi.

“Oh!” Hearing this, the man quickly covered his mouth and nodded.

“Okay, I won’t kill him. What are your names?” asked Ling Chuxi. She first pointed at Mr Cockeye. “You tell me.” If she let Ah Bei speak instead, she might just be annoyed to death.

“My Lady, my name is Feng Zijin, and his name is Deng Zaibei.” said Mr Cockeye respectfully. He had observed how the others followed Ling Chuxi’s every word earlier so it was obvious who made the calls here.

“Aren’t you biological brothers?” Ling Chuxi had seen Deng Zaibei run back to save Feng Zijin without caring about his life, and how Feng Zijin stood up to protect Deng Zaibei when she threatened to kill the latter. She thought that the two of them were biological brothers.

“No, but we grew up together, so we’re closer than blood brothers.” Feng Zijin answered.

“Big Brother is very… very good to me. He saved my life. If he didn’t save me, his eyes… wouldn’t be like this,” added Deng Zaibei. Now that he was calmer, he didn’t stutter as much.
