235. White No Smell

"Okay." Xue Cheng shrugged and did not force Nagato to wear the dress which was not revealing but extremely embarrassing. Anyway, the closet was so big that there must be more interesting clothes.

After searching for a while, Xue Cheng picked out another outfit and said to Nagato, "How about this one?"

This time it was a relatively normal casual outfit, lavender trousers, and a T-shirt with just a few English letters printed on the chest. Nagato did not refuse, watched Xue Cheng walk out of the room, and began to change.

The afternoon passed in a flash. Xue Cheng and Changmen chatted and laughed, and appreciated the clothes. They didn't feel bored at all.

In fact, apart from the beginning when he was seriously helping Nagato choose the combination, he was basically just playing around later on, and seemed to have completely forgotten his original purpose.

However, Xue Cheng didn't say anything, and Nagato didn't express any opinions either. Instead, he was very cooperative, and seemed to be enjoying it.

Changing into another set of girl group style stage clothes, Nagato posed in several idol styles as Xue Cheng requested for him to take pictures.

"Nagato, you can't do this." Xue Cheng looked at Nagato, who had no expression on his face and even looked a little tired, and scratched his hair in distress.

"Can you smile a little? Yeah, a cheerful and energetic smile. Don't understand? It's okay, I'll teach you. As long as you think about cheering for the Admiral, it will come out naturally."

"That kind..." Nagato rubbed her cheeks. She felt her whole face become stiff after being treated like a dress-up doll by the admiral the whole afternoon.

Forced to cheer up, Nagato twitched the corners of his mouth and looked at the camera as Xue Cheng said: "Is that so?"

"That's about right." Xue Cheng raised his phone. Although the girl's smile in the camera was still a little forced, it wasn't like she was really being asked to perform on stage. It was a nice experience to see the usually majestic queen Feng Nagato acting cute for once.

"What clothes should I change into next?" Xue Cheng put away his phone with satisfaction, stroking his chin and thinking.

"Sailor suit? Navy uniform? Or this..." Xue Cheng picked and chose, and suddenly his eyes lit up. He took out a piece of clothing and spread it out in front of him.

This was a kimono. The top, undergarment, furisode, and obi were all dazzling pure white, which was very different from the kimonos Xue Cheng had seen before.

"This is..." Xue Cheng felt that it looked familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere.

"..." Seeing the pure white kimono, Nagato's cheeks turned red instantly. Seeing Xue Cheng looking like he was thinking hard, she opened her mouth to speak, but for some reason, she swallowed the words back.

Nagato's expression was filled with hesitation. She was silent for a moment, a hint of sadness flashing across her face. As if she had figured something out, she said, "It's time for lunch. What would you like to eat, Admiral?"

"So fast?" Xue Cheng looked at the time displayed on his mobile phone. More than two hours had passed, but he didn't even notice.

"Whatever you want, I like all the food Nagato cooks." Xue Cheng said casually. Although he was not very hungry, since Nagato said so, he decided to temporarily stop the dress-up game and hang the clothes back.

Nagato breathed a sigh of relief. She thought about it and realized that Mutsu wouldn't be back before the afternoon anyway. She didn't bother changing out of her stage costume, so she simply wore it and walked out with Xue Cheng. "It's a bit hot today, Admiral, how about we have some cold buckwheat noodles?"

"Okay..." Xue Cheng responded casually, his mind still thinking about the clothes he had just seen.

Pure white kimonos don't seem to be common in Japanese dramas and anime, so they must be worn on special occasions. Could it be a coming-of-age ceremony? Hmm, that doesn't seem to be the case.

So, what other important special occasions require wearing a white kimono... huh? Wait!

A flash of lightning seemed to flash through Xue Cheng's head, and dusty memories gradually emerged. He looked at Nagato who was walking in front of him with a strange expression.

He remembered that kimono... was actually the traditional Japanese bridal dress, the white wedding dress!

So Nagato had already thought that far ahead? Xue Cheng thought for a moment and smiled knowingly.

Perhaps due to insufficient official production capacity, there are only a few highly acclaimed wedding-themed costumes in the game, so even if Xue Cheng is willing to spend money, he cannot achieve the achievement of having a wedding ship full of wedding dresses.

However, when the game becomes a real world and the game characters become real girls, this restriction naturally no longer exists. The white wedding dress just now is probably the wedding dress that Nagato prepared for himself.

Now that he thinks about it, Nagato's real purpose in calling him here was probably not to pick out clothes from the beginning, but to let him "accidentally" discover this white wedding dress?

Perhaps this is Nagato's unique method of urging marriage? But Nagato is very thin-skinned. Before Xue Cheng could figure it out, she backed off.

Speaking of which, I haven't had the chance to be alone with her these days since I traveled through time. I watched the wedding ships take turns, but I haven't even received the ring. Coupled with yesterday's opportunity, why did Nagato come up with this idea?

Xue Cheng thought about it and saw that Changmen had reached the corner of the stairs and was about to go downstairs. He suddenly rushed over and hugged her in his arms.

"Admiral?!" Nagato lowered her head, looking like she was full of thoughts, and didn't notice Xue Cheng approaching at all. When she reacted, she was already in Xue Cheng's arms.

She struggled a little, feeling the hot breath on the back of her neck. A blush spread across her cheeks, and she lowered her head and whispered:

"Even if you're the admiral, you can't do that. If you insist on doing this, then please give me the ring first."

Nagato's voice was so low that it was almost inaudible when he said the last sentence. Even she had not expected that she, who was always decisive and capable, would have such a side to her.

After a brief moment of shyness, there was a sense of relief.

Finally, I said it! The emotions that had been pent up in my heart for a long time finally came out with these words!

A smile appeared on Nagato's lips, and he leaned in Xue Cheng's arms as if he was a little exhausted.

This is her way of confessing. No need to say "I like you". It's simple and direct.

She had fulfilled her long-cherished wish. Even if the answer she waited for was a rejection, she would be satisfied as long as she could lean on the admiral's arms for this second and feel his breath and body temperature.

Nagato closed his eyes and waited silently for Xue Cheng's answer.

However, after a while, the girl still did not get a response from Xue Cheng. She opened her eyes curiously and was about to turn around when she saw a pitch-black jewelry box with a diamond ring lying quietly inside.

It represents the token of marriage between the admiral and the ship girl, and is a ring of vows that symbolizes beautiful love.

"Admiral?" Nagato's voice trembled a little, and mist gradually appeared in her bright eyes. This was the first time that this strong-willed girl showed such vulnerability in the face of shame.

"Although I haven't told you all this before." Xue Cheng's voice rang in Nagato's ears: "But I have already made up my mind to respond to everyone's feelings, so..."

After a pause, Xue Cheng continued, "Please don't take this as pity, nor as charity, because I really like Nagato."

"Admiral..." Nagato stretched out her hand, and Xue Cheng understood and put the ring on her finger.

Half past two in the afternoon.

Although the sun had begun to set, the temperature was still ridiculously high. Even the wind was hot. Under the scorching sun, even the leaves seemed to wilt.

Mutsu walked listlessly under the shade of the trees. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and used her hands instead of a fan to fan herself, trying her best to avoid the scorching sun.

"Hate it, why is there summer in the world?"

Looking at the treeless road ahead, Mutsu stood in the last shade, covering his eyebrows with his hands, looking at the road that was surging with heat waves, as if the space was distorted by the high temperature.

"I'll get tanned..." Mutsu muttered and complained as he walked home under the scorching sun.

After being kicked out of the house by his sister, Mutsu, who had nothing to do, first ran to Daiho's house to get a lot of snacks, and then rushed to her house before Akagi had time to cook and had a hearty lunch.

Although Akagi's cooking skills are not as good as Yixian's, they are still better than mine, so I am quite satisfied with today's meal.

"I'll bring my sister along for a meal some other day." Thinking of Akagi's surprised look when he saw him coming uninvited, Mutsu laughed secretly.

"I'm back!" He opened the glass door. It was so hot that he was going crazy. Mutsu, who just wanted to turn on the air conditioner, kicked off his shoes and was too lazy to put them in the shoe cabinet. He changed into slippers and walked in.

When he came to the living room, there were snacks and two servings of tea on the table, but no one was there. The air conditioner in the living room was not working, and the hot air blew in through the window. Mutsu didn't have time to think about it, so he hurried into the kitchen and took out a popsicle from the refrigerator.

Feeling the sweet ice cube sliding down his throat, a chill spread from his stomach to his whole body. Mutsu shuddered, licked his lips, and exhaled a breath of cool air: "I'm saved... I almost died."

Having resolved his existential crisis, Mutsu thought of Nagato again: "Strange, were there any guests at home? Where did my sister go?"

Mutsu suddenly became curious. She licked her popsicle and went up to the second floor. She came to the door of a room with a sign that read "Nagato" and gently knocked on the door with her knuckles.

There was no response and the room was silent. Mutsu waited for a while and was about to turn around and leave when he heard some noise coming from the room.

Hmm? Is my sister taking a nap? Mutsu thought about it. It's really easy to feel sleepy after lunch in such hot weather. Plus, cleaning must be tiring. So my sister must have been sleeping until now, right?

Mutsu was eating a popsicle when he suddenly felt like playing a prank. How long ago was it that I played a prank on my sister while she was taking a nap in the living room? How about... try it again?

The vixen Mu Ao also has a funny side. When he thought of his usually dignified sister being made to laugh and cry by his prank, Mu Ao couldn't help himself.

Just as she was about to act, the door suddenly opened. Mutsu quickly dodged to the side, and then, the moment the other party walked out of the room, she suddenly rushed in front of him, making a threatening sound: "Wow!"

"Ah!" The other party was frightened by her and screamed loudly. However, Mutsu did not feel happy about the success of the prank. Instead, he was stunned, as if she was the one who was scared.

The popsicle in his hand melted into sugar water, dripping down his fingers to the floor, but Mutsu was unaware and just stared at the other person blankly.

"Admiral?!" Mutsu exclaimed after a brief silence.

"It's Mutsu." Xue Cheng's mouth twitched wildly. He wanted to retreat back to the room and close the door, but Mutsu was faster than him and rushed into the room directly past him, leaving him no time to stop him.

Then, Mutsu fell into a silence even longer than before.

Nagato, who has a slight obsession with mysophobia, always keeps his room clean and tidy, but now it is a mess.

The room was a little dim with the curtains drawn and the windows closed. Fortunately, the air conditioner was still working, so it wasn't too stuffy. There was just a faint, strange smell floating in the air.

There were scattered clothes on the ground, some of which looked like sailor suits, one that looked like an idol-style stage costume, and even a white wedding dress draped over the back of a chair.

I don't know whose underwear was rolled up and thrown in the corner. On the bed near the window, a person was sleeping under a thin blanket. Two snow-white arms stretched out from under the blanket, and the smooth shoulders could be vaguely seen. A black mole could be clearly seen on the chest.

"Bang!" The popsicle in Mutsu's hand fell to the ground.

"Um, Mutsu?" Xue Cheng, who was only wearing a pair of shorts, quickly picked up his clothes and put them on, and whispered, "What's wrong with you?"

Mutsu looked at him expressionlessly. Just as he was about to answer, he heard a long breath. The girl on the bed threw off the blanket and sat up. Rubbing her eyes, she asked drowsily, "Mutsu? Admiral, is Mutsu back?"

Xue Cheng curled his lips and looked at the girl beside him, not knowing how to answer.

"Admiral?" Without waiting for Xue Cheng's answer, Nagato was a little surprised. He turned his head and looked over. Then, like Mutsu just now, he was petrified.

"Sister." Mutsu looked at the scarlet finger marks on the girl's body, tilted his head, smiled charmingly, and then said softly in an unusually soft and pleasant voice: "You said you would clean up earlier. Is this how you clean it?"

"...Mutsu." Nagato came back to his senses and hurriedly picked up the blanket to wrap himself.

She, who had always been dignified in front of Mutsu, no longer had any aura at this moment, as if the sisterhood had been reversed at this moment. She curled up on the bed, just mumbling Mutsu's name.

"And the admiral." Mutsu turned around, his slightly empty eyes made Xue Cheng feel uneasy. He subconsciously took two steps back and smiled ingratiatingly at Mutsu.

"You didn't tell me before you came here, just to be with my sister..."

Xue Cheng forced a smile: "Mutsu, listen to my explanation, things are not what you see, I..."

"It's already like this, what else is there to say, Admiral?" Mutsu took a deep breath, then pointed at the ground beside him and let out a terrifying scream: "Admiral! Sit right there!"

Sitting upright was of course impossible for Xue Cheng, a Chinese, but he still sat there obediently, accepting Mutsu's angry stare.
