The more he thought about it, the more scared he became, and Noelle was at a loss as to what to do.
But the more she tried to escape, the more unavoidable it became, until finally, she was only inches away from the princess, and no matter which direction she went, she could not escape the sword's edge.
"Wait!" Noelle screamed.
"What? Any last words?" Hestia flexed her wrists. She had just given her all to Madam Baiyu today, and she had to deal with her enemy not long after a short rest. Her arms were really sore.
"I can be your bug!"
"what?"
"My insignificant power is meaningless to you... to you. You live in the body of the princess, and you must be afraid of the decree of the God-Emperor Jedi Tiantong and the seal of the veil!" Noelle felt that he had guessed the truth. This strange secret realm was obviously prepared for hiding oneself.
Only a witch who has ascended to mythology can create such a world.
"That's interesting. Tell me about it."
"I can give you the Gu seed. It's the source of Qiu Su's bewitching power, and it holds everything I have. As long as you master it, I'll never be able to resist you!" Noelle beamed. "Witches and worms aren't enemies. We're predators. We should work together to overthrow Meng Su and devour all the mediocre wanderers!"
"Predator, you?"
"You, you are the predator!"
Hestia looked strange.
How could such a fence-sitter be so easily defeated by his enemies? Or are all worms bullying the weak and fearing the strong? This is a disgrace to the High Knight!
But then again, if he was truly a high knight loyal to the Divine Emperor, how could he become an enemy?
The princess jokingly said, "Some people want to be my dog, some want to be my bug, it's really interesting."
"I can obey you like Matildahl Miller." Noel, with only a long-necked head left, shook his cervical vertebrae like a propeller.
"I've raised tigers, dogs, griffins, falcons, and even giant whales, but I've never raised an insect," Hestia said with a smile. "Put your head here so I can touch it."
Perhaps due to the influence of Matildaal, Noelle knelt down and reached out with ease, sticking his head out with familiarity.
"Shh!"
The princess used all her spiritual power to completely break Noelle into pieces.
It was still fixated on the flattering look, not understanding why the world suddenly turned dark.
As the worm's body perished, the Witch's Book began to greedily absorb its soul and power.
"Idiot, I'm only interested in your insignificant strength." Hestia sneered.
Even if it was a worm, it was a high knight transformed into a worm, and the princess was trying to master this path through it.
The vast, smoke-like sea of spiritual energy surged, and the blood river widened by nearly twice as much. At the river's mouth, a gigantic spiritual exhibition hall suddenly rose, its interior filled with empty glass booths.
In one of them, a small golden insect was floating, like a sleeping insect, with the edges of its links glowing scarlet.
"Golden worm, Qiu Su."
At the same time, another stone monument rose from the ground opposite to the Mechanic's monument.
"Spirit: All Knowing, Noelle Tinson."
"Faith: The Path of Order."
"Beacon: Path to the Heart of the Tower, Golden Sacred Skull."
"..."
"—In the desires of the demon maggots, hatred symbolizes power."
"Knight's Path: 3%."
Hestia looked at the monument, which contained some obscure and messy history hidden in the mist. It was related to Noel Tinson and could not be fully deciphered.
"In other words, all mystic practitioners above the Mastery Realm will have a monument erected in the Witch's Book."
Hestia looked around the empty grounds, imagining the scene of graves scattered everywhere.
"Bah, bad luck."
She spat.
The princess had a vague feeling that through this monument, she could reach Noelle's beacon in the Dream House and complete the witch's ritual of substitution.
However, Viola was still frozen in the snow and wind, and she might turn into an ice sculpture if she delayed any longer.
Back in the material world, the black-haired girl was indeed curled up on the ground, shivering.
"Why don't you go into the hunter's cabin, idiot." Hestia was speechless.
"I'm looking at this magic circle, I'm trying to break it and rescue His Highness..."
"Okay, it's all settled. You're mine, and Tiejun will naturally protect your sister. Don't listen to any lies in the future."
Hestia took off her coat and put it on Viola, intending to send the maid back to the manor first.
"Um, Your Highness, oh oh oh, Miss Miller..."
Viola looked at the snow, where a flower of flesh and blood with millions of petals bloomed, and vague whispers of dreams were heard in the wind.
"Your Highness, hehehe..."
"Evil? Worms?" Hestia frowned slightly. She stuck her sword into the snow, leaving behind a High Knight barrier from Noelle. "I'll have Iyana clean up the mess tomorrow. Come back with me first."
“Oh…” Viola nodded and hesitated, “Your Highness, are you really here to save me?”
"otherwise?"
"Oh..." He nodded again, "That prince..."
"Is there anything else?" Hestia looked at the shivering maid helplessly.
"nothing."
Viola shook her head.
She originally wanted to ask His Highness whether he really liked her, but when the words came to her mouth, she was speechless.
The wind and snow grew stronger, and the two gradually disappeared in the mountains and forests. Only an enchanting flower was blooming in full bloom under the white night, its blood-red petals soft and filled with intoxicated whispers.
"Your Highness, it's time to rest, Your Highness..."

(Volume 1 // Dreamer // End)
Volume 1: The Dreamer: Ending
Although the rebels' side storyline has not yet concluded, considering that the rebels serve more as a background in the first volume and are actually the opening of the second volume, I decided to use this chapter as the ending.
To be honest, the ending of this volume is not ideal because the complicated side plots cause huge problems in the story rhythm.
Dreamers are a worm force, composed of the Enemy (Rage), the Ego (Arrogance), the Meton (Sloth), the Light-Hate (Envy), the Tinker (Gluttony), the Gnat (Greed), and the Moth (Lust). Initially, they exist to fulfill the wishes of others, ultimately eroding their visions.
So this volume is called Dreamer.
I wrote about Ryan, Valle, Ella, Garcia, and Lady Baiyu to delve deeper into these seven worms, making them easier to write about later. I should have had Qiu Su make a promise to them, then rip them apart at the end, but the pacing wasn't right and didn't fit neatly into the plot. Originally, there was supposed to be a single remaining larva, but it made the plot feel long-winded and difficult to grasp, so I simply cut it from this volume, leaving many of the side plots feeling futile.
Matildahl's unrequited love for the princess should have been a part of Qiusu's story. However, because the author wrote late and his mind was often unclear, the narrative sequence of Matildahl was messed up. It should have started with Matildahl's failed attempt at suicide, his abandonment by the princess, and his imprisonment in the dungeon, where he went helpless and mad, before the disaster of the unification of Eisheng and Qiusu unfolded.
The other side of the disaster was also a strategy by the enemy to divert the princess's protection. While attracting the High Knight, he revived in Matilda's fantasy and attacked the princess. Only then did he drag the mad Matilda into a decisive battle with the princess. As for Hestia, she was also waiting for Noelle to approach her, not to act as a hero to save the damsel like now.
But it's mostly good, as long as readers don't think it's too bad. Although a lot of my content is pretty bad and I have no talent for making up stories, I can only give 6 points out of 3 points. The one extra point deducted is that Matildaal's performance was not very glorious.
I think it's quite dramatic that a dog who lives under order and obeys everything ends up with nothing. Therefore, Matildaal is a jerk from the beginning. While being bullied by his family, he also helps the evil and bullies others.
But this is a story after all, and the princess is not a good person, so there is no character that cannot be washed away. Some readers feel that Matildaal can stay, so I voted.
If Matildahl hadn't died, he would have revealed his true feelings to the princess at some point, and then been ridiculed by the princess as a toad wanting to eat the Celestial Dragons. He would have been so frustrated that he would have stared at the princess's back in dissatisfaction as she left.
She will still be bewitched, but the dog's taming overcomes jealousy and resentment, and not only does it not break apart, it even hinders Enemy in the final battle, and is subsequently transformed into a witch by the Witch Book. In this scenario, the princess will not receive Aynive's help, and will be attacked by Enemy only to watch the dog perform a great deed.
Of course, Xiaogou will still be born as a bully who only fears the strong and bullies the weak, and is also a bad witch. He will only be picked on by the princess but still cannot get true love. Considering that most readers do not like this kind of character setting, he was killed in the end.
There is a high probability that it will become a potted plant like an abnormality, which has no practical meaning, but is very miserable.
Another reason I rushed to the end was that the volume was too bloated. The detailed outline wasn't done well, so the narrative wasn't very smooth. I can only say that every plot point was thought through, and the story was barely finished.
There will be a few interludes next to give me time to think about the next volume. The timeline will probably jump a few months, and then the story of the assassination of the princess and the princess leading Yunling to "prosperity" will begin.
Many of the plots are just for fun, so please don't be too critical. After all, the succession to the throne of Heberus alone is a complex undertaking, and the author isn't entirely clear on why this was arranged this way.
The main plot of the second volume is the assassination of the princess. The hidden plot is about gathering the heroes of the Dream House to start selling the "family business" to muddy the waters. Then there is the slightly twisted love line between Domis, Hestia and Viola.
I'm not sure if this will be popular, after all, readers have their own preferences. For example, the character of Matildahl is a bit 37-.
After reading so many stories about holy kings, perhaps a look at a tyrant ruler would be quite interesting. The very nature of the witch determines the fundamental inconsistency between the princess and the empire. I quite like the idea of the inner traitor, the real one; it makes writing about it more interesting.
The third volume will return to the palace to write about the customs and practices of the capital of the gods. There is a lot I want to write about. Charles II will not die immediately. He will live a few more years. By the middle of the story, everyone who should appear will appear before the world begins to fall into chaos.
The combat power aspect might not be too rigorous. In the early stages, a high-ranking knight can easily defeat ten, while in the later stages, a free knight (one against ten) is also possible. Fighting against a mythical figure (even against a mythical figure) is also possible, depending on the situation and plot. After all, esoteric cultivation doesn't necessarily require a life of fighting and slaughter, or a battle to determine who's superior. It's also possible to live a life of abstinence and become a mythical figure whenever you meet one. Writing this is actually quite difficult, as some fights are still necessary to advance the plot. While the cadavers can regenerate infinitely, they still need to be carried away when needed.
My initial thought for this book was to write a 17th-century sailing pirate story. Since I'm not good at writing pirate stories, I simply wanted to write a story about a villainous princess who interacts with the other heroines one by one, just like other stories. So this book adopted some of these ideas, but changed the story from Princess Fran, exiled to the sea after her country was destroyed, to an imperial princess, and then further adjusted the content, moving it towards a more esoteric cult-like style.
But I don’t have the talent to write purely emotional lines. I have written a few chapters of the draft of this book, but I still feel that it is fun to write it this way now. I don’t know whether it is good or not, but the main thing is that I have fun.
There really aren't any exciting moments. The protagonist doesn't have much sense of achievement from upgrading. It's not a step-by-step process of apprenticeship - peeping into the secrets - understanding - completing the photo - collecting materials to gradually improve. I'm not very good at creating exciting moments, so it comes out boring when I write about it.
As for the rest, I'm a mess, and I don't know what to conclude. I just hope to develop the character arcs of Domise and Viola, and give Kill Kill Kill some ups and downs. I'll try to limit it to 20-25 words. There might be some twists and cruelties, but a little tragedy can deepen the memory and keep it from being too thin.
Of course, from the princess's perspective, it is definitely a great comedy, the only difference is that the characters' positions are different.
That’s all for now.
The weather in Yunling was harsh and the climate was much colder than in previous years. The prices of necessities such as grain, coal, and timber skyrocketed. Even a government clerk who had completed compulsory education in the empire and was employed by the Governor's Office could hardly make a living for a family of three.
Since zombies flooded the sewers and refugee camps, the rebels have become more and more powerful. The unrest around Yunding City has lasted for two days and two nights. The police station is overwhelmed, the military is busy suppressing the unrest, the procuratorate is exhausted, the city's production has almost stagnated, and every household has stayed indoors.
But what could he do if he didn't go out? If this continued for another three or five days, he would either die in this decrepit house with four bare walls, or die outside in the freezing cold and snowy weather.
Many civilians in the community knew that the project in the northern suburbs had been recruiting people and was offering free bread and soup, but the streets were in chaos, bandits were looting everywhere, and a group of adventurers and mercenaries robbed the Yunling Bank and fled. It was said that there were even man-eating monsters wandering around. Under such circumstances, they would probably be robbed and skinned before they could reach the construction site of the temple, and then thrown into the black workshop to be made into human meat pies.
Some young people believed that this situation would not last long, that free will would eventually reclaim all of Fran, and once the Imperial dogs were driven out, Cloudtop City would regain its former prosperity and no longer be so miserable. Respected elders in the community shook their heads at this. That night, a dozen black Dobermans broke into the townhouse, rounding up the rebels who had attempted to "incite unrest" and imprisoning them.
