"...I don't want to be bound to this evil ship of yours." Glancing at the fallen Mother Goddess in the distance, Bethel showed a slight look of pain on his face, while the high-dimensional overlooker said Counting on his fingers:
"One, two, three, four... Bethel, please relax, we don't have a few old incarnations here. Now, strictly speaking, the only ones who are incarnations are me and the Mother Goddess. The original hunger and the ring of destiny are both They just project their consciousness onto the sealed objects. They have no power and the delay is quite high."
"...That's not the problem." Bethel covered his head: "What other position can you have on this ship?"
"Well..." Gao Wei Overlooker touched his chin and decisively changed the topic:
"Klein prayed to me, let's talk about this later."
On the vast ocean, a "captain's room" floats quietly on the horizontal plane.
……
"We're here." Triss let out a long breath and looked at Edessak beside her.
"Hurry up and put them down. There is no light at all in this damn place. You still need a lantern to continue moving forward."
"This is a God-forsaken land." Edessak pulled out an oil lamp from the side and lit it with the flame. A man with an eerie and handsome face walked out, radiating a fiery light like the sun.
Beside this man was a little girl wearing a nun's uniform. The two people looked determined, like ascetics who had stepped out of myths.
"Mr. A, what are you..."
"The way to the Lord's sanctuary must be pious enough." Mr. A said to Edsac beside him with a serious face: "Although the Lord allows you to believe in different gods, I will strictly follow the Lord's oracles. , to be a beacon for these Lamb of the Lord.”
"..." Edsac opened his mouth and looked at Mr. A, who was lighting up like a large candle, and felt that something was wrong:
"Mr. A, are you sure... is this what you mean by lighthouse?"
"I'm very sure." Mr. A said with certainty: "There is darkness carried by the Lord here, and we must illuminate it to survive here. Doesn't this explain the Lord's meaning? In order to exercise my ability, the Lord He even gave me a sacred book made with the characteristics of the 'Righteous Teacher'. Doesn't this prove the Lord's desire for us, sincere shepherds, to lead the lambs to the light?"
"...As long as you are happy." Edsac was very sensible and did not continue to argue with Mr. A in front of him about the doctrine of the true Creator. He just nodded lightly and said to Mr. A in front of him:
"In this case, Triss and I will send you two here. Please take good care of the residents we brought here. The remaining half will stay in the Southern Continent for planting. Because we are temporarily unable to Planted land provides the conditions for survival.”
"After things stabilize over there, I hope that a two-way passage can be established as soon as possible." Mr. A nodded solemnly: "The food we brought here is enough to last us for three months at most, even if I come to purify the dark monsters here There’s no way it can last too long despite the pollution.”
"I know we will succeed." A smile appeared on Edsac's face, "I hope the glory can shine on this land again."
"I hope the light can shine on this land again."
Mr. A repeated, standing still. After watching the ship leave, he looked at the panicked people in front of him, turned around and slowly opened the holy book in his hand.
As the pages of the book were opened, a tall figure seemed to appear behind him, and the surroundings suddenly became brighter.
"There is no war here. This place belongs to you." Mr. A looked at the workers who were displaced by the disaster with a smile on his face:
"The Lord will lead us to create a new civilization on this peaceful land."
"There will be no wars or threats here. You can build to your heart's content and make this a paradise on earth."
Mr. A had a strange premonition that although the Lord's sanctuary was called a place abandoned by the evil gods outside, he felt from the bottom of his heart that this place with a harsh environment might be safer than the outside.
……
As the ceremony of praying to the "Looking Down" ended, Klein saw something being stripped out of himself, and what disappeared was the feeling of being watched by Amon.
After confirming that he had gotten rid of Amon, Clay even went to the Source Castle once to conduct divination. After everything was completed, he stood up and walked towards Archbishop Anthony's room. Klein opened the door gently and saw Leonard and Archbishop Anthony standing there.
"Deacon Daly is going to be the captain of a team of red gloves. Deacon Dunn has some demigod tasks. After completing them, he can try to be promoted to demigod and become a bishop."
Archbishop Anthony looked at the three of them gently and spoke to them. As Klein entered, the four people present couldn't help but turn their eyes to him. Archbishop Anthony clapped his hands and said to Klein:
"Deacon Moriarty, um... I can feel that the hidden dangers in you have been eliminated by the goddess. In your subsequent missions, Leonard will personally assist you in your missions."
Hearing the words "The hidden danger has been eliminated by the goddess," Klein always felt an inexplicable sense of guilt. However, after learning that Leonard would be his partner, Klein was also somewhat surprised, even suspecting that this was a deliberate arrangement by the goddess. He nodded and said:
"I understand, Archbishop Anthony."
"Then I wish you success." Archbishop Anthony smiled and said jokingly to Klein in front of him:
"Speaking of which, are you going to continue to use the disguise to act like this?"
Archbishop Anthony once again showed a slight smile. After seeing this action, Klein's eyes were somewhat shocked, and he couldn't help but point at himself.
After Archbishop Anthony nodded again to confirm Klein's thoughts, Klein quickly calmed his excitement.
He took a deep breath, and the muscles on his face squirmed.
Except for Archbishop Anthony who already knew about it, the other three people present all showed expressions of surprise and joy.
Dunn Smith, Daley Simone, Leonard Mitchell.
The three members of the Nighthawks team from Tingen City reunited at this moment. They remembered Klein just as Klein still remembered them.
Outside Backlund, trains came in one after another. The crowd looked at Backlund who was rebuilding, with a slight smile on their faces.
They are faceless people and the dust of history; but they are also creators, the greatest painters and authors.
They work hard to live according to their own wishes and let time pass by their short lives.
Some people can be erased with time, just like dust.
But the dust is there, and the people who remember the dust are also there.
(End of Volume 1 "The Hermit")
Reflections on Volume 2
I'll imitate the squid and write a chapter speech. I also have squid power! (Happy)
Strictly speaking, the first and second volumes share the same outline and layout, as the higher-dimensional Overlooker has just arrived on Earth during this time, using his prophet to seduce Klein and make him his friend. Klein, unlike in the original novel, is not isolated and helpless. Instead, he has the companionship of a higher-dimensional being who serves as both a mentor and a friend, and he is not separated from his family or led a life of displacement.
At first glance, this seems like a very happy Klein. But is this really the case?
High-dimensional Abraham is merely an incarnation of the High-dimensional Overlooker. The High-dimensional Overlooker does possess humanity, but he is also a god, an Outer God beyond the barrier. He embodies the will of the "reader," compassionate to the characters within the book, yet also arbitrary and dictatorial.
In this book, the higher dimension who has read "Lord of Mysteries" is even more so. Since "He" is now also a member of this world, even though he has been greatly multiplied by the mysterious power from the higher dimension, he still needs to consider his own position.
He is an Outer God, an Outer God whose actual combat power is not as good as that of a complete pillar; he has human memories, and has gone mad because of his long memories.
The High-Dimensional Overlooker does not belong to humanity, much less to the Old Ones. There is no place for Him anywhere, and so He desires change—to convince Himself that He is truly alive.
Then again, with Gao Wei's help, Klein gained some personal happiness, but also lost a lot.
Like Sharon, like Maric. It's like people who could have been friends didn't become friends, and people who shouldn't have died swapped their fates with those who should have lost their lives.
For example, Klein gained the support of the Fallen Mother Goddess and the True Creator, but because of this, he lost the support of the Earth Mother Goddess, the Lord of Storms, Will, and others. His life would also be turned upside down because Amon knew where Klein's family was. Although he had the protection of the High-Dimensional Overlooker, wasn't this also a way to drive the tiger to devour the wolf?
Some things can't be avoided because they're there. Although Klein had acquired the "Creeping Hunger," he still couldn't use it to stop Panatia, causing some of Backlund's survivors to die from the disease. This could be considered a kind of "equivalence," and it was precisely because of this that Klein died once due to Panatia's counterattack.
This kind of equivalent exchange also exists in Mr. Men and others, so I won’t elaborate on it here.
Compared to the Earth - even to the outer gods, the High-Dimensional Observer is a "hermit" and a "foreigner". This is why the word "outsider" is included in the first name of the High-Dimensional Observer.
So I named the first volume "The Hermit", and the first volume probably tells the story of a hermit returning to the center of the stage.
Similarly, after returning to the Church of Evernight, Klein had lost his primary reason for sailing—the ritual. Yet, Klein still went out to sea because Gao Wei was at sea, and Ins Zangwill had escaped Backlund and was preparing to ascend to Sequence Three. Furthermore, Klein now vaguely sensed the tip of the iceberg of many things, because compared to the original novel, Klein knew much more.
And for "Klein", who is neither omniscient nor omnipotent, this is a good ending.
I also compiled my own outline—because I don't like writing outlines myself, so at most I wrote down a few important events and the final chapter endings. I don't like writing by rigidly following an outline; I prefer to give characters as much freedom as possible and let them create their own stories.
Of course, due to my limited writing experience, I may not be able to express the feeling I want, but writing this way makes me very happy, and sometimes I am quite satisfied with what I write.
As for the later plot, I will generally focus on the two perspectives of Gao Wei and Klein. I will not follow the original plot of Squid, but I will also find a way to let the characters in the original work appear - after all, it is a fan fiction, and everyone doesn’t like to see inexplicable characters appear, right?
I have also thought of some interesting plots for the second volume. Of course, I will know what I will write later.
Then one thing I want to say is that my first volume has many errors in the original plot and some parts are written very poorly. When writing the second volume, I will try my best to revise it and try some new writing methods and ideas. If you have any comments, I hope you can mention them as much as possible, because sometimes I may not be aware of the problems with the plot.
I personally won’t give away any spoilers, but the second volume will probably be different from the Squid’s, and will involve plots in the southern continent, the God-forsaken Land, and the sea.
Okay, that's about it. I have to start writing volume two. I don't have any manuscripts saved... (sigh)
Thank you very much readers for reading this far. Yuehu would like to express his gratitude here.
The second volume, “The Narrow Gate,” will be released tomorrow.
“The door is narrow, but inside and outside is a vast world.”

Chapter 142: Recording a Tarot Club
"interesting……"
Amon pushed up the monocle on his face and looked thoughtfully at Klein, who had escaped from his care with the help of ritual magic.
He originally thought that after Klein was resurrected, he could catch up with him based on the occult connections he left behind. However, he did not expect that he would pray to a certain hidden existence as soon as Klein woke up and wash his hands very easily. Gone for his own favor.
There are only a handful of true gods who can accurately remove the favor left by me. Considering that I can't follow some connections to find the original owner who removed my favor, it can only be the old days from the starry sky.
"It looks like I've been fooled..." A smile appeared on Amon's face, and he slowly disappeared.
"It seems that the outer gods have also joined the battle for Source Castle."
…………
Klein gently knocked on the armrest next to him. The last Tarot meeting was not held on time and what happened to Backlund made the participating members feel a little panicked.
The atmosphere at this Tarot meeting was somewhat frozen. The most obvious manifestation was that even Miss Justice, who was usually the most active, did not speak.
She was like a dead flower, sitting there with her head hanging down.
Of course Audrey couldn't cheer up. After all, she had been greatly frightened and shocked by the great disaster that had occurred in Backlund.
First, Duke Negan was assassinated inexplicably, and then the entire Backlund turned into a terrifying hell after His Majesty the King's investiture ceremony.
The sky was filled with darkness and thunder roared. Audrey, who possessed clairvoyance, was nearly driven to lose control of herself when she looked up at the sky from beneath the Queens shelter due to an inexplicable attraction.
Fortunately, the "blessing" that Klein gave Audrey before forcibly diverted Audrey's attention, otherwise what awaited her would be madness and loss of control.
When Audrey came to her senses, she found that a large number of Beyonders who were guarding the nobles around her had fallen, and only a few High-Sequence Beyonders used their abilities to forcibly control them.
Audrey knew that if it weren't for Mr. Fool's blessing, she might have become one of the people imprisoned in the dungeon. At a time when Backlund's overall order has completely collapsed, no matter how noble your status is, as long as you have hidden dangers, you will be controlled.
Audrey was almost terrified by the scene at that time. She praised the goddess and thanked Mr. Fool in her heart.
I'm still too weak... Even if I accidentally glanced at that thing, I almost lost control... Audrey pursed her lips, raised her head, and smiled, finally breaking the heavy atmosphere of the Tarot meeting. :
