Miracle Pill Maker Bullies the Boss

Wei Yong sat across from J and noticed the change in his mood. When he noticed the man's preoccupation, he could not help feeling worried.

He had already written a report about this opportunity to work with DO Corporation. If the deal failed to work out, he would be turned into a laughingstock in the institute.

Wei Yong cleared his throat and said, "Mr. Meng, how do you feel about our database?"

Even though J was preoccupied, he was listening to them. He tilted his head slightly and said, "I'm very intrigued by the creator of the database. Can I talk to him?"

Wei Yong was unsurprised by the request. Fortunately, he had the foresight to make Liu Qian bring Huo Yao along to the meeting. "Of course, Mr. Meng. One moment please."

He glanced at his assistant the moment he finished his sentence.

The assistant quickly stepped out of the conference room.

The assistant had placed them in an office nearby the conference room. Before long, he returned to the conference room with them.

Qi Hui and Liu Qian walked in front. Before they entered the conference room, the assistant warned them to be careful. They could not help but feel nervous.

In comparison, Huo Yao seemed completely calm as she followed behind them.

On closer observation though, she seemed colder than usual.

"Hi, Mr. Wei," said Qi Hui softly. He inadvertently looked at the two other men in the room.

When he saw the company pin on their chests, he quickly veered his eyes.

Wei Yong nodded and turned to make the introductions to Mr. Meng before he finally spoke about Huo Yao.

J finally raised his head and looked at Huo Yao standing right at the back. A look of astonishment emerged in his eyes.

She was young and she was surprisingly a woman.

Before J was able to wrap his mind around it, he detected the woman looking at him coolly. He was unsure if his mind was playing tricks on him. For a moment there, he detected disdain coming from her.

J felt puzzled inside.

Huo Yao moved her eyes away mildly.

Wei Yong failed to detect anything amiss. He simply said to Qi Hui, "Mr. Meng wants to talk to her about the database. No need for her to get nervous."

Qi Hui nodded. Just as he was about to speak to Huo Yao, she had already pulled up a chair and sat down at the conference table.

She sat confidently and looked proud and dignified.

Qi Hui frowned. Since they were in public, he did not dare to scold her for being rude. He could only awkwardly shift his eyes.

Wei Yong was a little annoyed and felt the same way as Qi Hui.

Huo Yao could not be bothered by how they felt. She placed her hand on the table casually as she looked at J sitting across from her. She said nonchalantly, "Did you want to talk about the database?"

When J made eye contact with Huo Yao, he inexplicably felt intimidated, even though she was just a young woman in her twenties.

"Huo Yao, don't be rude!" Qi Hui reminded her from the side.

Huo Yao could not even be bothered looking at him. Instead, she crossed her legs and leaned into the seat backrest. "My bad. My database got chewed up by dogs, so I don't feel like talking about it."

The moment she finished her sentence, Qi Hui nearly passed out immediately.

They were at an important meeting, but he did not expect Huo Yao to disregard the situation and speak rashly.
