Apocalyptic Extraordinary Convoy, I'm really not weird!

Su Ye slowly emerged from the shadows where he was hiding, trying to conceal his eerie aura and make himself appear more "peaceful." He then walked unhurriedly toward the light of the campfire.

He deliberately made his steps heavy and loud to avoid being mistaken for a stealthy attacker.

However, he still greatly underestimated the impact of his current appearance and the aura he unintentionally exuded on this defeated and frightened army.

The first person to find him was a young man huddled by the campfire, keeping watch.

He was numbly munching on his dry rations when he caught a glimpse of a figure slowly emerging from the darkness out of the corner of his eye. At first, he thought it was a companion, but the next second, a chilling, bone-chilling sensation mixed with the stench of blood and an ominous feeling slithered into the back of his neck like a venomous snake.

"Strange...weird!"

A strange humanoid figure is approaching!

He screamed, his voice distorted by extreme fear, and the dry rations in his hand fell to the ground.

That scream was like a spark thrown into boiling oil, instantly igniting panic throughout the camp!

"Attention! All personnel on alert!"

Xu Jiang's roar immediately rang out. He practically sprang up from beside the campfire, and a strangely shaped rifle instantly appeared in his hand.

The rifle had a bright silver metallic sheen, and the barrel and some parts of the structure had obviously undergone unconventional modifications. It was etched with patterns that subtly flowed with light, indicating that it was a weapon full of sequential power.

Without hesitation, the gun barrel was pointed in the direction Su Ye was coming from.

Xu Xin's movements were equally swift. She had been examining the map, but upon hearing the sound, she immediately stood up, her eyes sharp as a hawk's, locking onto the unsettling figure emerging from the darkness.

Without the slightest hesitation, her lips moved quickly, uttering a string of clear syllables that contained a certain rhythm:

"Word of Power: Shield!"

The air seemed to tremble, and a semi-transparent diamond-shaped shield instantly materialized a few meters in front of Su Ye, positioned precisely between him and the core of the camp.

The shield appears thin and light, yet it exudes an aura of stability that repels foreign energies.

All the survivors panicked and hid behind vehicles or rocks, clutching makeshift weapons, staring in fear at the increasingly clear "humanoid monster."

Su Ye stopped in his tracks. Through the shield of words, he could clearly see Xu Jiang's taut finger on the trigger, the undisguised vigilance and scrutiny in Xu Xin's eyes, and the almost overflowing fear of the ordinary people behind him.

He opened his mouth, his voice hoarse from thirst:

"Don't be nervous... It's me, Su Ye."

"I traded with you guys before, along with Captain Chen, on the riverbank."

His voice echoed through the silent camp, but instead of reassurance, it met with deeper suspicion and fear.

"Su Ye?"

Xu Jiang frowned, lowering the muzzle of his gun slightly but not moving it away, trying to make out his features in the dim light.

The person in front of me was dressed in tattered clothes, stained with dark red and almost black grime. More importantly, he exuded an eerie and chilling aura that sent shivers down my spine.

This person was somewhat similar to the strange young man in his memory, but his aura was several times stronger, and his appearance was unrecognizable.

"prove!"

Xu Xin's voice was crisp and cold, and the aura of the Word Power Shield did not diminish at all.

"You look so different from a 'human' right now."

We can't believe it.

Su Ye fell silent. He knew that a single sentence was not convincing at all.

His gaze swept over the modified rifle in Xu Jiang's hand, then back to Xu Jiang himself, recalling their brief exchange.

After the modification was completed, I gave you an extra pack of instant noodles and a can of food as a thank you gift.

You even laughed and said things like, "Don't be polite with me."

This passage is full of details; it would be difficult to fabricate it out of thin air unless one had experienced it firsthand.

Xu Jiang's body visibly trembled, and the wariness in his eyes turned into incredulous astonishment.

He carefully examined Su Ye from head to toe again, slowly lowered the muzzle of his gun, nodded slightly to Xu Xin, and whispered:

"The details are correct. He's describing something that actually happened."

Xu Xin's tense expression did not completely relax, but the hostility in her eyes subsided somewhat.

She did not immediately remove the Word of Power Shield, but continued to scrutinize Su Ye:

Even if you are Su Ye...

Why are you here all alone?

And it's turned into...this?

Her gaze swept over Su Ye, her tone filled with disbelief.

The fact that a lone traveler could survive to this day in such a bizarre, almost "humanoid" state deep in the wilderness is nothing short of a fantasy.

Su Ye remained silent for a moment. He couldn't explain the [Otherworldly] sequence, nor could he describe in detail how he hunted the bizarre and how he escaped death. He could only selectively reveal part of the truth:

"It's a long story."

Our convoy had previously stumbled into a strange, densely populated area.

During the escape, my car almost overturned on a bend. I jumped out of the car to push it back, which caused me to fall behind.

As for my appearance and aura, my sequence is somewhat special, allowing me to disguise my aura. Coupled with the fact that I was fleeing alone, my situation was inevitably rather tragic!

He was concise, omitting most of the details of hunting the bizarre creatures, devouring and evolving, and struggling on the verge of death, and only gave a reasonable reason for falling behind.

After hearing these reasons, Xu Xin and Xu Jiang exchanged a glance.

Xu Jiang finally lowered his gun, but his eyes remained alert. He gestured to Su Ye towards their makeshift tent located between the bus and the rocks.

Su Ye nodded and stepped forward.

Xu Xin then had a thought, and the shield of words rippled and dissipated like water.

During the short walk of a dozen steps to the tent, Xu Jiang and Xu Xin's eyes briefly met.

In the dim light, for what seemed like an instant, their eyes were flashed by the firelight of the campfire, reflecting a faint red glow.

The tent was cramped, with only a camping lamp casting a dim yellow light.

The three sat down, but the atmosphere remained somewhat tense.

After a brief silence, Su Ye broke the deadlock and asked the most crucial question:

"What's going on here? Where are Captain Wu Feng and the others?"

I remember there were five of you back then.

Before the words were even finished, the air inside the tent seemed to freeze again.

Xu Xin and Xu Jiang fell silent almost simultaneously. They subconsciously exchanged another glance, this time for a longer period of eye contact, as if they were discussing something silently and rapidly.

The air inside the tent seemed to grow thicker and more oppressive with their silence.
