Time-traveling island

In the morning, Lin An woke up inside the landing ship. He had been sleeping on the beach for the past few days, but yesterday he remembered that the landing ship could open its hatches anywhere on the hull, so he used it as a campervan.

However, the alien landing ship appears to be unmanned, with no toilets, beds, kitchens, or other amenities found inside; the cabin was likely only used for cargo.

After waking up, he indulged himself by playing on his phone for a while.

When he returned to the drilling platform last time, he brought a power bank with him, but the battery was low, and his phone wouldn't last until the supplies arrived in ten days.

The two released their hands, and Flora took a bouquet of flowers with emerald green leaves from an elf behind her, presented it with both hands, and said, "Nice to meet you. This is a gift for you, a bouquet of flowers that I grew myself. I hope Mr. Lin An likes it."

Amberley said, "Elves didn't have surnames before. It was only after the kingdom was established that some elves gradually started to have surnames. I don't have a surname either. Mr. Lin An, you can just call me Lilley."

No surname?

It doesn't sound like it has a father's or mother's name; it's just a name.

Lin An smiled and said, "Then you don't need to call me 'sir' anymore, just call me Lin An."

Flora smiled and said, "Mr. Lin An may not know this, but in human countries in our world, addressing someone by their surname and given name is something only close friends do."

Lin An felt a little awkward, glanced at the words in his hand, and said, "Is that so? But on Earth, flowers are usually given to parents, teachers, boyfriends/girlfriends, and spouses."

Amberley laughed too.

Her smile was brighter this time than before.

"Do you need me to return the flowers to you?" Lin An asked, holding the flowers.

"No need, flowers that have been given away are never returned." Flora paused, glanced at him, and said with a smile, "I've never been in a relationship before, but who knows, I might fall for Mr. Lin An."

Lin An could tell from those words that she was different from the other elves, so he jokingly replied, "It is my honor to be liked by such a beautiful elf as Miss Flora."

She smiled but didn't say anything.

Lin An quickly took the flowers back into the cabin, grabbed some mineral water and a toothbrush, and brushed his teeth on the beach.

Unexpectedly, Amber and Flora came over and watched him wash his face, making Lin An extremely embarrassed.

Flora raised her pale finger, and a small clump of seawater flew in from the nearby ocean. Flora opened her mouth and ate it. Lin An only had time to reach out and shout, "Don't drink it!"

Flora puffed out her cheeks, held the seawater in her mouth for a moment, then turned and spat it onto the beach. She used magic to rinse her mouth, and her beautiful face turned bitter. She said, "This water tastes awful. It's like it has lots of salt and some really bad fruit juice. This kind of water can't be used to water plants."

Lin An said, "The Earth's environment is different from yours. Seawater contains not only a lot of salt but also various impurities. The water I rinsed my mouth with just now was purified water."

Flora gazed at the sea, lost in thought.

Lin An walked back to the cabin door to put away his toothbrush. Amberley followed him and asked, "Mr. Lin An, have you had breakfast? I brought some fruit and pastries. I wonder if you would like them?"

She took out a small wicker basket filled with various fresh fruits and some pastries, which were probably the food she usually ate.

Lin An was pleasantly surprised and said with a smile, "Thank you, Miss Li'er." Last time, it was Wang Wanxiu who brought him food, and this time it was her.

"You can call me Lily," she said, "according to Earthly etiquette."

"Then you can just call me Lin An from now on... Oh, never mind, call me whatever you want!"

Lin An stopped worrying about it, took the wicker basket from her, and sat down at the cabin door to prepare breakfast.
