The Primordial Era: Starting with Jingwei Filling the Sea
Chapter 58 End of the Preaching
The arrival of Fang Yang and his group brought new vitality and hope to the human race. The people of humanity, who were originally plagued by demons, plagues, and diseases, gradually shook off the gloom.
During this process, Fang Yang and his companions rescued many outstanding talents of the human race, including the young Emperor Xuanyuan.
No matter how valiant the Yellow Emperor was, that was after he attained the Great Luo realm. Right now, he was merely a junior at the Celestial Immortal level. Even he had to flee from the pursuit of demons.
At first, Fang Yang did not recognize the Yellow Emperor. He only saw a celestial youth being chased and intercepted by several demons, and casually rescued him.
When he learned that the boy he had rescued was the Yellow Emperor, he was astonished and passed on the Shangqing Shenxiao Technique, a secret technique of the Jie Sect, to the Yellow Emperor.
Fang Yang discovered that his mental state was becoming increasingly strong. Even if he encountered the future Human Emperor, he would be able to deal with him with the utmost composure. Therefore, he quickly realized that he could forge a good relationship with this future Human Emperor to prepare for the future.
The Yellow Emperor was at his weakest point, and what he lacked most was divine skills and profound wisdom. Although he didn't quite understand Fang Yang's investment, he still accepted this act of kindness.
Grand Master Xuandu watched the departing figure of Emperor Xuanyuan, his hands constantly making calculations. The result he derived filled him with dread, for he could not fathom the fate of Emperor Xuanyuan.
Among humans, only a very few exist who can give him this feeling.
With a wave of his hand, Grand Master Xuandu sent out a divine pill that landed on the ground in front of him. This divine pill would become an opportunity for Emperor Xuanyuan, helping him to more smoothly overcome his period of weakness.
Grand Master Xuandu didn't care what the Yellow Emperor's future identity would be; what he hoped for was that more powerful beings would be born among the human race.
This can be considered the greatest selfishness of Grand Master Xuandu as a disciple of the Human Sect.
Manjushri Bodhisattva glanced deeply in the direction where the Yellow Emperor had left, then flicked his finger, sending forth an opportunity.
He was not human, but he was willing to give face to Grand Master Xuandu and Fang Yang. He was now, as a senior in the cultivation world, bestowing an opportunity upon a junior.
Lucky individuals like Emperor Xuanyuan are not uncommon among all races.
Along the way, whenever Fang Yang and his companions encountered promising individuals, they would leave behind Taoist books, elixirs, and other items to provide these talented individuals with a path to advancement.
The Yellow Emperor was simply a special person, and he received more benefits than other promising talents.
Their journey across the Zhuolu Plains quickly came to an end, and the group flew out of the plains and re-entered the primordial wilderness. Humans were the primary target group for the Xuanmen (mystical sect), but not its only one.
After crossing the Zhuolu Plain, the group entered the Yunmeng Marsh.
Yunmengze is a vast expanse of land and water, boundless in size and dotted with numerous islands, a paradise for bird and aquatic creatures.
The arrival of the sage's disciple caused a great sensation in Yunmeng Marsh. Each time the sage's disciple arrived, he would set up an altar in Yunmeng Marsh to preach and spread the Dharma to all living beings.
This time, of course, is no exception.
Sages do not accept disciples to create a group of arrogant and domineering second-generation immortals. Their purpose is to share their responsibilities with their disciples.
Hongjun Laozu entrusted the task of spreading the Dao to all the saints, who in turn entrusted the task to their disciples.
Preaching and educating are the eternal themes of the great teachings of the sages.
On Crocodile God Island, the largest immortal island in Yunmeng Marsh, Grand Master Xuandu led his entourage of immortals as they slowly descended onto the Dao Platform. This Dao Platform had a long history, having withstood at least thirty million years of wind and rain.
According to Master Xuandu, this platform was built by the people of Yunmengze for the first time when the Sage Taiqing came to Yunmengze to preach.
"All living beings of Yunmeng Marsh respectfully welcome the immortals of the Human Sect, the Chan Sect, and the Jie Sect!"
The arrival of the Sage's disciple was warmly welcomed by all the creatures of Yunmeng Marsh. Each arrival of the Sage's disciple brought about earth-shattering changes to the cultivation world of Yunmeng Marsh.
"Beings of Yunmeng Marsh, we are disciples of the Three Pure Ones. We have come here today to preach, impart the Dharma, and dispel your doubts, so as to help you get rid of ignorance and barbarity and awaken your wisdom."
The voice of Grand Master Xuandu resounded throughout the sky and waters of Yunmeng Marsh, echoing like a great bell, resonating in the hearts of every living being.
"The Tao gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, Three gives birth to all things..."
Grand Master Xuandu immediately began his sermon.
Humans are a single race with a shared culture, common ideas, and a language that can be used to spread the Dao. Spreading the Dao among humans is a very easy task.
Once the Human Religion sows the seeds of Taoism, the human race will surely try every means to spread Taoism in order to strengthen itself.
The situation is different for all races.
Different races have different cultures and languages; even birds and beasts may not have their own languages. Birds and beasts usually rely on bloodlines to spread their magical arts.
The demon race has its own demon script, but without the guidance of the ancient demon race, the newly born spirits and monsters cannot learn the demon script!
Spreading the teachings among all races is a long-term task. Every so often, the great religion of the sages must propagate its doctrines.
As Grand Master Xuandu began his lecture, Fang Yang, Master Puxian, and others each chose a direction and displayed their unique abilities, recounting their own Taoist arts.
The Taoist arts passed down by the immortals are all orthodox Taoist arts of the Xuanmen, divided into multiple directions such as cultivation methods, escape techniques, weapon crafting methods, talisman making methods, spiritual plant cultivation methods, and animal husbandry methods.
The immortals spread their arts not to encourage people to be brave and violent, but to teach them the ways to survive and thrive.
Alchemy, weapon crafting, and talisman making are all skills for survival. Mastering them allows one to create their own resources and acquire a valuable skill. The saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" perfectly illustrates this point.
In teaching the ways of survival and development to all beings, the Jie Sect was clearly an expert. The Daoist arts transmitted by the Tongtian Sect Leader covered all aspects of the production and life of all beings.
The so-called "seizing a glimmer of hope for all living beings" means equipping them with the skills to survive and thrive.
The teachings of Chanjiao expound on the principles of conduct and the workings of the Heavenly Way.
The Chan Sect does not support sentient beings defying the Heavenly Dao because they know that sentient beings lack the power to do so. Sending powerless people to defy the Heavenly Dao is no different from sending them to their deaths.
The teachings of Chan Buddhism aim to instruct all beings to learn the rules, utilize them, and ultimately thrive within them.
The three religions merged into one, imparting principles to all beings and awakening their wisdom. The beings of Yunmeng Marsh became wiser and stronger at a visible pace.
During his missionary journey, spirit birds and aquatic creatures would often come forward to bow and ask him questions about his spiritual practice.
Master Xuandu patiently answered the questions, citing scriptures and incorporating the concept of "human determination can overcome nature," telling all beings that cultivation is not only about improving oneself, but also about learning to adapt to nature and change one's own circumstances.
Fang Yang and the others observed the innate qualities and aptitudes of these creatures. When they encountered promising individuals, they would casually offer them Taoist books and elixirs, creating more possibilities for the creatures of Yunmengze.
Three hundred years passed in the blink of an eye, leaving behind endless imagination and expectations for the people of Yunmengze. The immortals left Yunmengze and embarked on a new journey of spreading their teachings.
As the teachings were passed down through generations, the legends left behind by Fang Yang and others in the prehistoric world grew more and more numerous, and the merits they accumulated became increasingly profound.
When everyone arrived at the border between East and West, a genuine smile appeared on everyone's face:
Their preaching has come to an end!
This mission took a full twenty thousand years. During those twenty thousand years, people traversed the primordial world, completing the task entrusted to them by the Three Pure Ones flawlessly.
The long journey of preaching has finally come to a successful conclusion.
