The Holy Mother of Wudang did not explicitly take sides; she stood on the side of the overall interests of the Jie Sect from beginning to end.

She didn't want to see infighting among themselves, much less the internal factions of the Jie Sect fighting amongst themselves.

The neighboring Chan Sect split into three factions.

The first faction consisted of Guang Chengzi, Taiyi Zhenren, Chijingzi, and Qingxu Daode Zhenjun. They were the disciples most favored by Yuanshi Tianzun, and each of them was armed to the teeth.

The second faction consisted of five people: Randeng Daoren, Wenshu, Cihang, Puxian, and Julusun. In order to consolidate his position, Randeng Daoren won over the four of them and supported and cultivated them ruthlessly.

The third faction consists of honest people such as Yu Ding Zhenren and Huang Long Zhenren.

They focused solely on cultivation and did not participate in the factional disputes within the Chan Sect.

Even so, neither of the two factions would yield to the other; although there was no open conflict, the covert struggle never ceased.

The situation within the Jie Sect was relatively good; Daoist Duobao alone suppressed all the other sects.

Ordinary disciples are nothing but ants in front of Daoist Duobao. They can't even fight against him, let alone control their own future.

Those who could rival Daoist Duobao were all people of great loyalty and righteousness; they were unwilling to oppose him.

However, precisely because of this, although Fang Yang did not accept the Holy Mother of Wudang, he still planned to try to win her over.

Fang Yang may have spoken harshly, but in reality, he was very measured in his actions.

He displays different personalities in front of different people.

His arrogance in front of Meng Zhen stemmed from Meng Zhen's inexperience and youthful nature.

He was bold yet respectful in front of the Tongtian Sect Leader because the Tongtian Sect Leader was his master. One should respect one's master, but not be afraid of him.

In front of his fellow disciples, Fang Yang had to play the role of a decisive and ruthless person.

He said he wanted to kill everyone who was detrimental to the Jie Sect, except for Duobao Daoren.

The Tongtian Sect Leader doted on Duobao Daoren like a son. If he killed Duobao Daoren, how could he still stay in the Jie Sect?

Fang Yang was very self-aware. In the eyes of the Tongtian Sect Master, a hundred of him combined were not as good as one Duobao Daoist.

He was merely a disciple of the Tongtian Sect Master; how could a disciple compare to a son?

He spoke so definitively because he was actually expressing his determination.

Let the Tongtian Sect Leader and Duobao Daoist resolve their own issues; Fang Yang will not get involved.

The Holy Mother of Wudang believed Fang Yang's words because Fang Yang's acting was so good that he almost believed it himself.

"Senior Sister Wudang, I know you have questions in your heart. Why don't you disguise yourself as a follower of our sect and come with me to a place? I'll show you some things. After you've seen them, you'll understand everything."

The Holy Mother of Wudang was indeed unwilling to give up. She came here full of confidence and did not want to go back empty-handed.

"Alright, then I'll go and take a look with my junior brother."

Immediately, the two transformed into two ordinary Shangqing Daoist priests.

The robes of Taoist priests of the Shangqing Dao are usually embroidered with green lotus leaves, which can be recognized by any immortal who is not ignorant.

Led by Fang Yang, the two arrived at a small human tribe.

Although the small tribe is called a tribe, it is not actually wild and ancient, because it is a tribe of immortals.

In this era, the situation between heaven and earth was unstable, and the remnants of the demon race frequently attacked the human race.

Powerful tribes are better off; they have the ability to protect themselves and defend their homes.

Tribes that lack strength are in dire straits; they can only roam the land like nomadic peoples.

When a powerful enemy invaded, they moved away with all the tribe members and resources.

The primordial world was too dog-eat-dog; the protagonists of heaven and earth merely possessed more fortune, yet they still had to abide by this law.

Whoosh!

Two beams of divine light descended, and Fang Yang and the Holy Mother of Wudang landed at the entrance of the tribe.

Although it was a temporary encampment, it was built with a very civilized atmosphere.

The road was wide and flat, the spiritual fields stretched as far as the eye could see, and a protective array had been built around the perimeter.

This formation is not very powerful; even a Xuanxian could easily break through it. However, it is the strongest defensive measure that this small tribe can offer.

Unfortunately, the social system of the human race has not yet been unified, and many tribes are still in the era of slavery.

If you don't want to be a slave to a large tribe, you have no choice but to struggle for survival on your own in the outside world.

However, Xuanxian (a type of immortal) are not easily encountered. Areas with relatively thin spiritual energy are simply insufficient for Xuanxian's cultivation.

"The mortal world is like a prison, and all living beings suffer."

Upon seeing this situation, the Holy Mother of Wudang subconsciously began reciting her Pure Land White Lotus Sutra.

Fang Yang shook his head:

"What kind of suffering is this? At least they can still strive to survive. There are other beings for whom even survival is a luxury. If you feel that all living beings are suffering, why not join me in helping those who create suffering for all living beings?"

The Holy Mother of Wudang froze, speechless.

She was naturally aware of the things the outer disciples of the Jie Sect had done. However, she hadn't done anything about it.

Right now, her lamenting "all beings suffer" outside this small tribe makes her seem very hypocritical.

When the Holy Mother of Wudang was speechless, Fang Yang spoke again: "Senior Sister, there's no need to worry. I'm not being sarcastic; I'm just stating a fact. If you're unwilling to face your own true self, when will you ever be able to sever your three corpses and achieve the status of a Quasi-Saint?"

People are often unwilling to face their true selves because their true selves are never perfect.

The reason why Our Lady of Wudang is speechless is precisely because she cannot accept her own imperfections.

However, the Holy Mother of Wudang did not understand that so-called perfection and imperfection are defined by others.

As long as she accepts herself, then she is perfect.

In terms of cultivation, Fang Yang is no match for the Holy Mother Wudang; and in terms of understanding the Daoist scriptures, the Holy Mother Wudang is far inferior to Fang Yang.

The Holy Mother of Wudang was taken aback upon hearing this. She wanted to say something, but Fang Yang had already stepped into the tribe.

"Fellow Daoist, we come from Shangqing Temple on Dongsu Mountain to spread the Dao to your tribe."

Meanwhile, Fang Yang was already talking with a Celestial-level "Ancestor".

In the small tribe, the Celestial Immortal is already an ancestor-level figure.

"Old Ancestor" is a mortal immortal wearing a dark green robe.

The so-called immortals of the mortal world are immortals who have not entered the Taoist sect, much less become monks or nuns.

There are countless immortals who believe in the Three Pure Ones, but there are also many immortals who do not believe in the Three Pure Ones.

"Shangqing Temple? Could you gentlemen be from Heaven...?"

The "Ancestor" looked Fang Yang up and down again and again, his expression becoming increasingly unfathomable.

Once the other party confirmed that Fang Yang was merely a follower of the saint, they quickly took their leave.

When Fang Yang entered the small tribe, no one else appeared before him; everyone in the small tribe had vanished.
