I became the slime toy of the evil dragon girl?
Chapter 48 Experimental Field
The surrounding minotaurs stared intently at Lilith as she performed her bondage art, their dozen or so bull-like eyes wide open like copper bells.
"Moo?" The leader, with its angry horns, scratched its head. "Is this how Shadow Elves farm?"
Three human female adventurers stood there, their expressions quite interesting.
Nicole's lips twitched: "She...she just called herself the Lord of Shadows, didn't she?"
Barbara hugged the holy book and silently turned her face away, thinking to herself, "How embarrassing."
The only one who didn't speak, the red-haired girl Phoebe, had her ears completely red, but her eyes were fixed on the tentacles. She seemed to recall the pleasant feeling when she purified the corrupting magic, and couldn't help but lick her lips.
Ian's tentacles continued to twitch rhythmically, his tone indifferent: "Don't mind it, Lilith likes to do this when she's playing with Ace and Ame."
Although the minotaurs didn't understand what Aceamu was, it didn't stop them from nodding as if they understood.
"I... um!"
The tentacles deftly wrapped around Lilith's mouth, silencing her as she stammered, "I didn't, I didn't, don't talk nonsense!" Lilith kicked her legs in the air, her eyes filled with defiance.
Ian looked at the three human girls: "What are you standing there for? Sow the rest of the seeds."
"Huh? Oh, oh..." The three looked at each other, took the bag, and obediently squatted down in the ground to dig a hole with their hands.
Ian kept the mischievous Lilith hanging, determined that such wasteful behavior of wasting food must be severely punished!
Since my [Analysis] skill had just been upgraded to level 5, I took this opportunity to upgrade [Shadow Magic Affinity] to level 5 from Lilith as well.
It was really just a side trip.
Ian began researching the magical energy cultivation method, and dozens of seeds had already been planted in the soil.
Aside from the few seeds that Lilith shot eight miles underground, which were indeed beyond saving, the rest should be explored in terms of how to coordinate with the magic meridians.
"Let's try weaving a few veins first and then we'll know." Ian jumped into the field, his tentacles probing into the soil.
[Analysis] All open.
The soil's magical properties, moisture content, looseness, mineral content...
A stream of data flooded into my consciousness.
Then he began to set up the [Magic Channels].
The first vein is buried half a foot deep underground, running around the edge of the entire plot of land, forming a closed loop.
The second vein originates from the direction of the volcano, plunging one end into the magic-rich area underground and connecting the other end to the first vein.
The third one, the fourth one, the fifth one...
Ian's tentacles weaved around like a net, magical veins forming one after another.
Angry Horn squatted on the edge of the ground, watching the slime waving its tentacles as if fighting against thin air, and asked in bewilderment, "Ian, what are you doing?"
"I'm having a hard time explaining this. It's so magical that even I can't quite convince myself..." Ian said without turning his head. "It's like this: isn't dragon blood wheat difficult to grow? I'm writing a program for the fields to infuse magic into the seeds."
"What is a program? Where does the magic come from?"
"Over there at the volcano," Ian pointed to the Ember Throat not far away, "it's full of magic, might as well use it."
"I heard old Charles say before that for Dragon Blood Wheat to grow, it needs to be nurtured in the ground for a year to absorb magic," he murmured. "Ideally, Lady Vivian should personally bleed it... You've got something going for you!"
"I know a little bit, but it'll only count if it survives." Ian didn't dare to make a full statement.
It started as an experiment to infuse magic into the seeds.
He drew magic from the volcano, letting it flow slowly into the soil along its veins.
Then he discovered...
Not right.
The rate at which the magic flowed in was different from what he had set.
Even though the thickness of each vein was adjusted to be uniform, the magic flowed faster in some places and slower in others.
Ian frowned and reached his tentacles into the area where the magic flow was fastest.
[Analysis] The soil moisture is low.
He paused for a moment, and then a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
Magic does not exist in isolation; different magical properties can affect the surrounding environment.
Places with abundant water-attribute magic naturally have higher humidity. Places with abundant fire-attribute magic naturally have higher temperatures...
What if it's the other way around?
By adjusting the ratio of magical attributes, can we indirectly control the soil's moisture, temperature, and even its looseness?
Ian acted immediately.
He first identified the area where the magic flow was too fast, shut down the input channel for water-attribute magic, and allowed earth and fire-attribute magic to continue flowing in.
The moisture in the soil began to evaporate slowly, and after half an hour, the humidity dropped by 10%.
He moved to another location and increased the proportion of water-attribute magic, causing the humidity to rise again.
Ian's heart started racing.
He continued his experiments, increasing the proportion of earth-elemental magic, which made the soil more compact; increasing the fire elemental magic, which raised the soil temperature; increasing the wind elemental magic, which increased the soil porosity and made it more porous...
"Lord Ian?" Angry Horn's voice came from above. "What...are you doing?"
Ian looked up and saw Angry Horn crouching on the ground, his large, bell-shaped eyes filled with confusion and shock.
"We're adjusting the land," Ian said.
"Adjust...adjust the land?"
"Look at this area." Ian pointed with his tentacles to an area where seeds had just been sown. "The humidity in this area is too high, and the seeds will rot easily. I've turned down the water magic, and it will be normal in a while."
Angry Horn opened his mouth, but didn't speak.
"And over there," Ian continued, pointing to another patch, "that soil was too compacted; the roots couldn't take hold. I added some wind element, and the soil loosened up."
The angry horn's eyes widened even more.
He has lived for so many years, and although he has never farmed, he has some knowledge of magic!
He had never heard of... that the earth could be manually adjusted? And that water-attribute magic could be turned down?
"Lord Ian," his voice trembled slightly, "you mean... you can make the earth obey your commands?"
"More or less." Ian thought for a moment. "It's not that it listens to me, it's just that it can be adjusted to the way I want it to be."
Angry Horn fell silent.
He squatted there, his two thick hands resting on his knees, his huge bull head slightly lowered, his eyes fixed on the field in front of him that had just been sown.
His large nostrils flared, as if he also sensed that the situation was indeed as Ian had said; the originally chaotic magical environment seemed to have been transformed into a single, uniform mold.
"Lord Ian," he finally spoke, his voice muffled, "I used to think you were just a talking slime."
Ian didn't respond.
"Can talk? That's rare. But that's all." Angry Horn raised his head, his large, bell-like eyes reflecting Ian's deep blue, gelatinous body. "I'm a minotaur, and I only listen to Lady Vivian. She says you're her person, so I'll work for you."
"But now I feel..."
He suddenly stood up, his three-meter-tall body like a wall, obscuring half of the moon.
"Lord Ian, please give in and obey!" His voice boomed, making the gelatinous substance inside Ian tremble. "I've lived half my life as a minotaur and I've never heard of anything like this! You're not a slime, you're..."
He got stuck, thought for a long time, and finally managed to squeeze out a sentence.
"You are the Earth Slime... the Earth Mother!"
