Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 55 Layout
Keisha's figure appeared silently in front of the angel guard amidst the ripples of the micro-wormhole. The scene, which had been filled with slight murmurs, immediately quieted down, and all the angel warriors looked respectfully at their queen.
"Your Majesty," the angels greeted in unison.
Keisha nodded slightly, casually found a huge weathered rock to sit on, and glanced at the young and beautiful faces in front of her. They were the future of the angel civilization and the inheritors of the beliefs she had guarded for tens of thousands of years.
"Tell me, what do you think of the Galactic Force?" Keisha's voice carried a hint of casualness, yet she posed a crucial question.
Angel crossed her arms and spoke first, her tone full of undisguised disdain: "He's like an idiot." She was always outspoken and didn't care much for the Earth's still-developing supreme god.
The angel Lingxi beside her couldn't help but whisper in protest, "Sister Leng, how can you talk about Sister Yan's future like that..."
"The future?" The angel snorted coldly, with a hint of disappointment in her voice. "Just because he is Yan's future, I feel that Yan's future is bleak!" Her words drew a low, silvery laugh from the other guardian angels, and the atmosphere relaxed slightly.
Keisha watched their interaction with a faint smile on her face, then turned her gaze to the silent Yan beside her, her tone becoming formal and profound: "We need to have enough patience with new male gods. After all, they are still very young." She paused, her voice calm yet carrying an undeniable weight, "And I have been in power for thirty thousand years."
Her gaze locked onto Yan: "Yan."
"Yes, Your Majesty." Angel Yan stepped forward.
"Your mission is to protect Annie Cid of Frieza. She is our crown princess, and after she is successfully crowned as an angel, you will assist her," Keisha's voice was clear and firm, "until she becomes the new Angel Queen. At that time, everyone can leave the Legion in peace and go wherever they want to go, do whatever they want to do."
These were words that sounded like he was making his final arrangements, instantly creating a somber atmosphere.
"But... Queen, I still want to stay by your side forever," Angel Leng couldn't help but say, her eyes filled with confusion and longing.
Keisha looked at her, her gaze deep: "In that case, you will eventually die in battle."
"Nothing could be better!" The angel raised her head, gazing at the sky, her eyes burning with a martyr's light. She described her imagined end, "I hope countless wicked male demons pounce on me like hungry tigers! I will stand atop their corpses and fight to the death, shouting 'Justice will prevail!' My beautiful body will stand firm!"
This fantasy, filled with youthful idealism, passion, and tragic grandeur, was calmly shattered by Angel Yan: "You're overthinking it. According to combat statistics, most soldiers don't die in a very gruesome way."
"Hmph!" Angel Leng choked for a moment, then glared at Yan with annoyance. "Anyway, I've never had a good time on a mission with you!"
Keisha looked at her two subordinates who were always bickering, shook her head helplessly, and steered the conversation back to Angel Leng: "Leng, you're not young anymore, it's time to consider finding you a male god."
Angel Leng froze instantly, her arrogant expression freezing: "Queen... I..."
Keisha interrupted her directly, saying in an unquestionable tone, "I have already matched you with Liu Chuang, the God of War of Noxing, through the Sacred Treasury of Knowledge. You can go to Earth and see for yourself whether he... is worthy of you."
This decision surprised all the angels, even Yan raised an eyebrow.
Keisha did not continue the topic. Her gaze swept over all the guards again, and her voice became calm, carrying a hint of imperceptible heaviness: "The choice made by Earth means that we may have to sacrifice many more young warriors... their precious lives."
The air seemed to freeze. But the next moment, all the angelic guards, including Leng, Yan, and Lingxi, straightened their bodies, placed their right hands on their chests, their eyes unwavering, and swore an oath in unison, their voices echoing across the vast expanse of space:
"For justice, death is not a pity!"
Keisha looked at them, a complex glint in her eyes. She knew that some sacrifices might be unavoidable, but as Lin Yu had revealed, it was time to find a new path for the Angelic Civilization, a path that might require "fake death" to pave.
In a large shopping mall in Juxia City, neon lights flashed and crowds thronged the streets.
"Lin Yu, hurry up!" He Xi turned around and urged the leisurely figure behind her, her tone carrying a rare hint of girlish coquettishness. She was already carrying several shopping bags, clearly having made quite a haul.
"Coming," Lin Yu replied, quickening his pace to catch up. He looked at the mischievous Xi ahead of him, so different from the wise and aloof Tianji King he knew in the lab, and couldn't help but chuckle. "We've been shopping for three whole hours," he said, glancing at his non-existent watch, "and we've bought quite a bit. It's getting late, shouldn't we head back?"
Upon hearing this, He Xi stopped and looked up at the sky through the mall's massive floor-to-ceiling glass facade. The afterglow of the setting sun was painting the clouds orange-red; night was indeed about to fall. She nodded, her tone tinged with a languid satisfaction: "Okay, let's go back then." The two walked side by side out of the mall.
"Speaking of which," He Xi turned to look at Lin Yu, getting to the point, "how do you plan to 'help' them?" She was referring to the aid request that Uncle Huang had made on behalf of the country.
With his hands in his pockets, Lin Yu casually tossed the "burden" aside: "Isn't this the greatest space-based king in the known universe? My number of insect instruments is limited, and frankly, I'm not very interested in burying myself in scientific research..."
"Tsk," He Xi scoffed, giving him a disapproving look. "Trying to get something for nothing, huh? You want me to do the work?" A sly glint flashed in her eyes, and she smiled slightly. "Well, that depends on how you perform next." With that, she quickened her pace and stood in front of Lin Yu again.
Watching He Xi walk ahead with a hint of smugness, Lin Yu was first slightly taken aback, then shook his head helplessly, a faint smile unconsciously creeping onto his lips.
As night fell and the city lights began to twinkle, the two figures blended into the city's shimmering lights, temporarily shielding them from the cosmic storm.
