Chapter 217 The Council of Gods
Skyblade 7 - Supreme Conference Hall
This king-class warship, which once belonged to the Angel Civilization, has now become an unprecedented convergence point in the known universe.
After receiving Tsukasa Kadoya's message, He Xi took the initiative to set up the Tianren No. 7 as the meeting place. She chose this place because it was neutral enough—the territory of the angels, but not under the direct jurisdiction of the Tiancheng system under Keisha; and because it was safe enough—the space anchoring devices and energy monitoring arrays all over the ship were set up by her own hands, which could track every energy pulse of the Shenhe Ruins in real time.
The conference hall is circular, with a transparent energy shield at the top, offering a direct view of the dazzling starry sky outside. Surrounding the rotunda are twelve high-backed chairs, each temporarily adjusted according to the civilization of the visitor—the silver angel throne is inlaid with a sacred coded loop, the dark purple demon seat is surrounded by faint spatial ripples, the golden sun throne exudes star-like warmth, while the relatively simple Earth representative seat is forged from the most durable earth-titanium alloy, simple yet solemn.
Keisha was the first to take her seat.
She remained aloof and detached, her silver eyes calm as an ancient well, her long golden hair shimmering softly in the starlight. She sat there, emitting no pressure, yet the entire conference hall seemed to tilt slightly towards her. Angel Yan stood behind her, her hand on her flaming sword, her gaze warily sweeping over everyone entering the hall. As Keisha's crown princess and bodyguard, she had a responsibility to ensure everything was under control—especially when that person's name was also on the attendee list.
"Relax, Yan." Keisha's voice was soft, yet it reached Yan's ears clearly. She didn't turn around, but there was a hint of sighing in her tone that only her closest confidants could perceive. "There won't be any conflict today."
Yan nodded slightly, but her hand did not leave the hilt of the sword.
The second to enter the conference hall were Liang Bing and Qiangwei.
The Demon King's entrance was never understated. Liang Bing, in her stilettos, wore a black leather jacket that gleamed darkly under the lights, her makeup so exquisite it seemed she was attending a banquet rather than a war council. The moment her gaze met Keisha's, an invisible electric current seemed to crackle in the air—but that sharpness was immediately suppressed by both of them, like two drawn swords forcibly sheathed at the last moment.
"Tsk, this place is pretty bright." Liang Bing casually glanced around, sat down in the demon's seat, and crossed her legs. Her posture was languid to the point of being provocative, but those who knew her well could see that her shoulders were tense more than usual. "I say, Keisha, your taste hasn't changed in all these years, it's still so... dazzling. Can't you add some darker tones? Like purple? I think purple would be nice."
Keisha didn't even lift her eyelids: "It's better than some people turning their hideouts into underground nightclubs. At least here, I don't need to turn on the UV disinfection."
Rose stood behind Liang Bing, gently rubbing her forehead.
She should have realized that putting these two in the same room would make it impossible for them to have more than three peaceful sentences. Thirty thousand years of grudges couldn't be resolved in a single meeting. But at this moment, looking at Liang Bing's deliberately flamboyant posture and Keisha's overly calm profile, she vaguely sensed that this confrontation itself might be a kind of... unconventional understanding.
Fortunately, the arrival of the third group of attendees broke the delicate atmosphere in time.
Golden light gathered at the entrance of the conference hall, transforming into a tall, slender figure. The Sun Goddess, Lena, clad in a gold and red battle robe, with tiny, stellar flames subtly swirling around her, each step she took carrying the heat and light of the sun's core. Behind her, Pan Zhen followed like a shadow, clad in military attire, his expression solemn, his eyes, weathered by millennia, now filled with scrutiny and vigilance.
"Oh, you're all here pretty early." Lena's tone was light and cheerful, as if this were just an ordinary gathering. She went straight to the Sunbeams' seating area, sat down at the head of the table, nodded to Keisha, and then gestured with her chin to Liang Bing, "Sisters, it's been a long time. Liang Bing, your eyeliner looks great today."
Keisha nodded slightly. Liang Bing raised an eyebrow: "Little Sun, you've grown taller? No, it's your aura that's grown. It seems being a queen really does toughen you up."
"I'm no longer the little girl you all treated like a child." Lena smiled, but there was a composure in that smile that only those in high positions could understand—a kind of vicissitudes forged through countless choices and sacrifices, unrelated to age. "I'm here today to talk business. We can catch up after the war."
Pan Zhen, standing beside her, remained silent, his gaze sweeping across the faces of everyone present like a sophisticated scanner assessing their threat levels. Finally, his gaze settled on Keisha, and he bowed slightly in greeting—a gesture of respect towards a worthy adversary and a potential ally.
The last group to enter the conference hall were the representatives from Earth.
Ling Feng walked at the front, still as calm and composed as ever. Her tactical uniform was neat and tidy, and every step was precise, as if measured with a ruler. Behind her, Ge Xiaolun and Liu Chuang walked side by side. Ge Xiaolun seemed much more composed than before. Although the passion of a young soldier was still in his eyes, there was more of a firmness that came from having experienced life and death—a certainty that he knew why he was fighting and for whom he was fighting. Liu Chuang, on the other hand, still had that carefree demeanor, but his hands gripping the axe handle were slender and the veins were slightly bulging, clearly ready to deal with any unexpected situation at any moment.
"Everyone, thank you for waiting." Lingfeng gave a slight bow and led the two to their seats on Earth. She looked around to confirm everyone's positions, then spoke softly, her voice not loud, but clear enough for everyone present to hear, "Now that everyone is here, let's begin."
Liu Chuang muttered under his breath, "Hey, Mr. Kadoya Tsukasa isn't here?"
"He has other things to do," Lingfeng replied briefly.
A brief silence fell over the conference room.
The silence was like a thin layer of ice, covering everyone's heads. Everyone knew what was going to be discussed next, and everyone knew what it meant. But no one was willing to be the first to speak—because once they spoke, there was no turning back.
Finally, it was Keisha who broke the silence.
Her voice was clear and powerful, like the first hammer blow on ice: "Gentlemen, you should all be aware of the situation. The seal on the Divine River Ruins is about to collapse, and the main force of the three Void Races may enter the known universe through that rift at any moment."
She paused, her gaze slowly sweeping over everyone present—Liang Bing's unwillingness, Qiangwei's solemnity, Lena's determination, Pan Zhen's silence, Ling Feng's calmness, Ge Xiaolun's resolve, and Liu Chuang's fervor.
"We are sitting here today not to argue about justice versus evil, nor to settle old scores—"
Her gaze swept across Liang Bing's face, lingering for less than a second, but it was enough for Liang Bing to understand all the unspoken words in her gaze.
"It's about deciding whether we want to live to see tomorrow's sun."
Liang Bing, unusually, didn't refute. She merely snorted coldly, her voice devoid of sarcasm, carrying only a complex emotion bordering on agreement: "It's not like anyone wants to die."
"So you have a plan?" Lena looked at Liang Bing, her tone direct and almost sharp. She needed to know whether this nominated "commander" was truly qualified for the position.
"A plan?" Liang Bing shifted the position of her crossed leg, placing her hands on her knees. Beneath that languid posture, her eyes sharpened like knives. "My plan is simple—whoever attacks me, I'll fight back. If the Void wants to descend, then I'll fight back. Do you think I'd sit down and negotiate with them? Use our civilization as bargaining chips to buy them a few more days of life?"
"If negotiations could solve the problem, I'd be the first to negotiate," Keisha said calmly. "But the Triangles don't even have the most basic willingness to communicate. Behind them are the Void Clan, the Zerg, things that only know how to devour and sacrifice. The prerequisite for negotiation is that the other party treats you as a 'human being'."
"So what?" Liang Bing leaned forward, her dark eyes staring directly at Keisha. "You want us to form an alliance? To make my demons obey your commands? Keisha, are you still dreaming?"
The temperature in the conference room plummeted.
Yan gripped the sword hilt tightly again. Pan Zhen's brow twitched. Liu Chuang raised his axe slightly, an inch higher.
But Keisha simply looked at Liang Bing, her eyes showing no emotion whatsoever.
"I didn't say I should command demons." Her voice remained calm, like a bottomless pool. "I only said that we need a unified battlefield command system. Fighting alone will only lead to being defeated one by one. The Void Races are not like the Triangles, scattered and disorganized. They are organized, have tactics, and have a clear objective—to sacrifice us all to that Abyss."
The temperature in the conference room seemed to drop a few degrees.
Lena tapped the table, golden sparks flying from her fingertips: "Command system? Who's in charge?"
Keisha did not answer.
She just looked at Liang Bing.
That gaze was so direct, so frank, that Liang Bing froze for a second. Then, she chuckled, a laugh tinged with disbelief and a hint of panic she herself didn't realize: "Why are you looking at me like that? You don't really want to—"
"You take command."
Keisha's voice was very soft, as soft as a feather falling on the water.
But that feather stirred up a monstrous wave.
Yan looked up abruptly, her eyes filled with disbelief. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but was stopped by a look from Keisha. Pan Zhen's expression changed, and for the first time, obvious shock appeared in his eyes, which were as deep as an ancient well. Even Ling Feng, who had been calm all along, showed a hint of undisguised surprise in his eyes.
Liang Bing stood there, speechless for a full three seconds.
She looked at Keisha, trying to find mockery, probing, or any flaw in her face. But she only saw calm—a cruel calm that allowed them to look each other in the eye after thirty thousand years of grudges and entanglements.
"You...you're insane!" Liang Bing finally found her voice, but it was a few degrees sharper than usual. "Let me command? Aren't you afraid I'll sell all your angels?"
"You won't."
Keisha's gaze was calm as still water, yet it carried an undeniable certainty.
"You are chaos, not stupidity. If the Void wins, your demons won't survive either. And..."
She paused, and something seemed to flash across her silver eyes—too fast, too fast for anyone to catch.
"And you owe the universe a victory."
The air freezes.
Rose noticed that Liang Bing's hand trembled slightly. That subtle movement was fleeting, but enough for those who knew her well to understand—Keisha's words had struck a long-dormant corner of her heart. That corner held the rights and wrongs of the past thirty thousand years, countless dead angels and demons, an irreparable rift, and… certain complex emotions never spoken aloud.
Lena spoke up at the opportune moment, breaking the overly heavy atmosphere. Her voice was light, yet carried just the right amount of seriousness: "I agree with Queen Keisha's proposal. Sister Liangbing, we all know your abilities. Spacetime genes, dark energy manipulation, tactical simulation—no one here is more suitable than you. Now is not the time to dwell on personal grudges."
Ge Xiaolun and Liu Chuang exchanged a glance but remained silent. Liu Chuang nodded slightly, while Ge Xiaolun clenched his fist. Ling Feng glanced at the two of them, then turned to Liang Bing, his voice calm and firm: "The Earth side has no objections. As long as we can win, it doesn't matter who commands."
Liang Bing looked around.
She met the gazes of everyone present—a gaze filled with scrutiny, expectation, and doubt, but also with something she had never been used to called "trust." She remained silent for a long time, so long that the air in the conference room began to thicken.
Then, she slowly leaned back in her chair.
That languid posture is back, but upon closer inspection, you'll notice that the lines of her shoulders have loosened slightly.
"Okay." Her voice was a little hoarse, as if something was stuck in her throat. "I'll take this mess. But there's one condition—"
She looked at Keisha, her eyes sharp as knives: "If I give an order that you feel will kill your angels, you can refuse to carry it out, but you must immediately provide an alternative. I'm not the kind of bastard who treats human lives like numbers. You should cherish your own people."
Keisha nodded: "Okay."
"And—" Liang Bing looked at Lena again, "I need the authority to access the stellar energy of the blazing sun at any time. It doesn't necessarily have to be detonated, but it needs to have that deterrent effect. Those things in the void may not understand what 'mutual destruction' means."
Lena looked at Pan Zhen. Pan Zhen remained silent for a moment, a struggle flashing in his aged eyes, which ultimately turned into a barely audible sigh. He nodded slightly.
Lena then said, "Okay, but each use requires confirmation from both General Pan Zhen and me. The blazing sun's stars are not weapons, but our last line of defense."
"Deal." Liang Bing stood up, placed her hands on the table, leaned forward, and glanced at everyone present.
At this moment, she was no longer the cynical demon king, no longer the rebel who had fought her sister for 30,000 years. She was a commander, a commander about to lead this unprecedented allied army to fight against an unspeakable enemy.
"Now, let me tell you what I see in the situation—"
The projection screen behind her suddenly lit up. It was a summary of all the intelligence from Demon One, Skyblade Seven, the Heavenly Dao Tower, and the Earth North Star Command Center, integrated into a huge, real-time updated dynamic star map.
At the center of the star map, a scarlet dot of light is marked—the Ruins of the Divine River. The dot of light is pulsating at a speed visible to the naked eye, and with each pulsation, a scarlet ripple spreads outward, representing a new leak of void energy.
"Based on the latest data analysis He Xi sent me, plus my own perception of the speed of the rift's expansion using my spacetime genes—" Liang Bing's voice became professional and calm, without a trace of extra emotion, "the rift in the Divine River Ruins will completely collapse within seven to ten standard days. At that time, the main force of the three Void Races will pour into the known universe without any hindrance."
Her finger slid across the star chart, marking three clear paths.
"Their vanguard is the Voidlings. They are fast, highly aggressive, and adept at ambushes and infiltration. They will swarm like locusts, attacking all planets with signs of life, creating chaos, and tying down our forces."
"Following closely behind are the Void Sea Clan. They are adept at mental pollution and energy corruption, and will attempt to pollute all waters, including the oceans of your Earth, the energy transmission network of the Sun, and the nebulous energy flow of the Angel Nebula."
"Finally, there are the Earth Royals. Those tough-skinned creatures are there to absorb damage and break through defenses. Once they land, any ground fortifications will be crushed by their brute force."
Her fingers stopped at three locations—Melodious Heaven, Earth, and the blazing sun.
"These three places are their primary targets." Liang Bing's voice deepened. "Why? Because these three places are the concentration of the essence of known cosmic civilizations. The angels' gene pool, Earth's divine river gene hybrid, and the blazing sun's star energy manipulation technology—these things are the best 'sacrifices' for the void. They want to use these things to sacrifice to the 'abyss' they speak of, in exchange for the slumber of that 'old thing'."
Inside the conference room, you could hear a pin drop.
"Then what do we do?" Liu Chuang couldn't help but ask. His hand was already gripping the axe handle tightly, his knuckles white. "Just wait for them to come? Fight them?"
"Fight, of course we'll fight." A cold smile curled at the corner of Liang Bing's lips. "But not by waiting for them to come."
She looked at Keisha.
Keisha slowly stood up.
At that moment, the silver wings on her back seemed to unfurl slightly, her long golden hair moved without wind, and the entire star map was reflected in her silver eyes. Standing there, she was the embodiment of the 30,000-year order of the angels, she was the Holy Keisha—the Queen of the Gods.
"Gather all available forces." Her voice was not loud, but it sounded like a judgment, clearly ringing in everyone's ears. "Establish a defensive line around the Shenhe Ruins."
She paused, her silver eyes burning with a light more intense than the stars.
"Don't wait for them to come out. Let's attack."
"Fight our way in?" Pan Zhen frowned, his voice tinged with doubt. "The space inside the Divine River Ruins is extremely unstable. If we rush in, we might be torn apart by the spatial turbulence before we even encounter any enemies."
"That's why we need you." Keisha looked at Pan Zhen, then at Lena, her tone resolute. "The Heavenly Dao Tower of the Blazing Sun possesses the ability to stabilize space. I need you to construct 'spatial anchor points' behind the defensive line, using the power of the Heavenly Dao Tower to slow down the dissolution rate of the internal space of the Divine River Ruins, buying us enough time."
Lena and Pan Zhen exchanged a glance. In that glance, there was hesitation, calculation, and a silence that only the people of Lieyang could understand when facing a mission.
Finally, Lena nodded slightly: "Okay. But the Heavenly Dao Tower needs someone to guard it. I will personally oversee it, and General Pan Zhen will be in charge of frontline coordination."
"The Dark Energy Interference System of Demon One can shield against the mental pollution of the Void within a certain range." Keisha turned to Liang Bing. "I need you to lead the Demon Legion to clean up the Void creatures that have already infiltrated, and to provide fire support on the flanks of the main attack force. Your sneaky ambush tactics will come in handy."
Liang Bing raised an eyebrow but didn't refute, only snorting, "Fine. Anyway, I'm used to cleaning up your messes."
"On Earth," Keisha's gaze fell on Ling Feng, Ge Xiaolun, and Liu Chuang, "I need you to guard the logistical corridor, and—as reserves. Your Divine River Gene and God-Slaying Weapon might be more effective against void creatures than we expect. Also, Liu Chuang—"
Liu Chuang looked up: "Here!"
"Your axe carries Deno's legacy. Use it to cleave a path."
Liu Chuang gripped the axe handle tightly and nodded emphatically: "Understood!"
"The Angelic Legion will lead the attack," Keisha concluded, her gaze sweeping over all the angels present—Yan, and the angelic commanders attending via projection. "Skyblade Seven, Skyblade Eight, and all available angelic warriors will be deployed. This time, it's not a battle for justice and order, not a battle for the glory of angels, but a battle for—"
She paused, and something seemed to flicker slightly in her silver eyes.
"For survival."
"For the sake of our continued existence, our willingness to live on, and our desire to protect the dignity of those lives weaker than our own."
Her words fell silent once again.
But this silence was no longer one of suspicion and confrontation, nor a tense test of strength.
Rather, it was a shared sense of solemnity.
And a shared determination.
That determination weighed heavily on everyone's heart, yet it also made everyone stand tall.
Keisha slowly stood up.
A silvery light gathered behind her, as if the starlight of the entire universe was converging on her at that moment. She stood there, neither tall nor strong, yet she exuded an invisible pressure—not awe, but the kind of reverence that naturally arises when facing a true leader.
"O gods, heed my command!"
Her voice was not loud, yet it resounded like a sacred judgment throughout this void.
"Return to your respective posts and assemble your forces. Twenty-four hours later, outside the Shenhe Ruins—"
"All troops, launch an assault!"
Her gaze swept over everyone present—Liang Bing's unwillingness, Qiangwei's solemnity, Lena's determination, Pan Zhen's silence, Ling Feng's calmness, Ge Xiaolun's resolve, Liu Chuang's passion, and the empty seat that belonged to Kadoya Tsukasa.
"For the known universe, for all life that still cares about this cosmos, let us fight!"
Those two words fell like a heavy hammer, striking everyone's heart.
No one spoke. But everyone stood up.
On the other side of light, darkness is flowing silently.
At Deathsong Academy, Karl stood before a massive viewing window, his hood obscuring most of his face, revealing only a pale, almost transparent chin. The lines of that chin were soft, yet they exuded a chilling coldness.
His gaze pierced through layers of star fields, across countless light-years, and landed on the crumbling ruins of the Divine River—where the black cracks had widened to a visible extent. Even from such a vast distance, he could "see" the strands of "primordial erosion" seeping from the cracks, like a dying beast dripping its last drops of poisonous blood, each drop enough to pollute an entire star field.
A faint smile slowly curved the corners of his lips.
There was no joy, no mockery in that arc, only an almost obsessive anticipation.
"Soon..." he murmured to himself, his voice as soft as a wisp of smoke, yet it echoed in the empty observatory. "Soon."
Snow appeared behind him like a ghost. That tall, silent figure, forever hidden in the shadows, seemed to be part of the darkness itself.
"My God, the Council of Gods has concluded." Snow's voice was flat and mechanical, devoid of any emotion. "Angels, demons, the Sun, and Earth have reached a united agreement. In twenty-four hours, they will launch a general offensive on the outskirts of the Divine River Ruins."
Carl did not react.
There was no surprise, no approval, no worry. It was as if all of this was already within his expectations, as if the fate of the entire universe was merely a pawn on his chessboard, following its own course.
He simply stared silently at the ever-growing crack above the Shenhe Ruins, a thoughtful glint in his eyes—the kind of almost greedy glint that scholars possess when faced with the unknown.
"Go and contact the Triangles." He finally spoke, his voice regaining its usual calm, the kind of scholarly calm devoid of any emotional fluctuation. "See what they have to say. Especially that Lancang—ask it what the 'old fogies' of the Void Sea Clan are waiting for."
"Yes."
Snow vanished as silently as he had arrived.
Carl turned back to the view window.
The starry sky outside the window was still dazzling, the stars were still burning, the planets were still rotating, and the civilizations were still bustling. But in his eyes, none of that mattered anymore.
The only thing that matters is that crack.
Only the void deep within the cracks, darker than darkness itself.
Only something is being conceived and about to awaken in that nothingness.
"Twenty-four hours..." he said softly, a hint of amusement in his voice, "enough time for a lot of good shows to happen."
The curve of his lips became even more pronounced.
In a secluded room of Deathsong Academy, unnoticed by anyone, a cluster of gray-black void microparticles was slowly wriggling.
It was like a living mist, sometimes expanding, sometimes contracting, each pulsation releasing faint ripples of energy that could not be detected by any instrument. Those ripples of energy penetrated the secret chamber, pierced through the layers of protection of the Death Song Academy, and disappeared into the endless starry sky—as if calling out to something, or as if responding to something.
And deep within that cluster of microparticles, a pair of cold, blood-red eyes could be vaguely seen.
The eyes were not fully open, only a thin slit was visible, yet they already sent chills down one's spine.
Because in that tiny crack, what is reflected is the destruction of the entire known universe.
