Chapter 172 An Encounter with Blood Wolf Members on the Plains
Li Wu led the two to hide in the woods, calmly observing the fight ahead.
The Blood Wolf Guild consisted of five players, all between levels 25 and 27. They were well-equipped and coordinated perfectly, clearly an elite squad from the Blood Wolf Guild. The players being besieged, while skilled, were already in dire straits due to their numerical and equipment disadvantage.
The tall, thin man who was surrounded was identified by the ID Lin Hai.
He was a thief, agile and constantly weaving through the Blood Wolf Guild's encirclement, trying to find a way out.
But each time he dodged, he was met with even fiercer attacks, and his health was already running low.
Lin Hai? Li Wu muttered to himself. He had never heard of this ID before, but judging from the situation, the Blood Wolf Guild seemed determined to get him.
"Don't let him get away! The guild leader said this guy can't be allowed to live!" a warrior from the Blood Wolf Guild shouted, his greatsword whistling as he slashed towards Lin Hai.
Lin Hai narrowly avoided the attack, but was still knocked back a few steps, his back hitting a tree. His eyes were filled with despair, knowing that he was probably doomed today.
Li Wu glanced at Lin Hai's health bar; if he didn't act soon, Lin Hai would truly die. He didn't want to see the Blood Wolf Guild members acting arrogantly right under his nose.
He made no unnecessary movements, simply raising the Arcane Bow, and a blue bolt of lightning instantly condensed on the bowstring.
Whoosh!
A lightning bolt ripped through the air and struck the Blood Wolf Guild warrior who had shouted the order.
-2350! (Weakness Critical Hit)
Huge damage numbers appeared above the warrior's head. He didn't even have time to let out a scream before he collapsed to the ground and disappeared in a flash of white light.
The sudden turn of events stunned the Blood Wolf Guild players. They stopped attacking and warily looked in the direction from which the arrows had come.
Lin Hai was also stunned, looking in the direction from which the arrow had come, his eyes filled with doubt and vigilance.
"Who? Who ambushed us!" a mage from the Blood Wolf Guild shouted, raising his staff.
Li Wu did not answer. He drew his bow again and fired another [Lightning Arrow].
This time, he set his sights on that mage.
The mage reacted quickly, casting a magical shield in an attempt to block it.
But all of this is in vain!
-2420! (Weakness Critical Hit)
The monk also collapsed and disappeared.
Two arrows in quick succession, killing two people instantly!
The Blood Wolf Guild players finally realized what was happening.
"Looking through the fog! It's looking through the fog!" an archer cried out in terror, recognizing Li Wu's attack method.
"What?! Seeing things through a fog?!"
The name, like a curse, instantly plunged the Blood Wolf Guild players into panic. They ceased their attack, and even the thought of continuing their siege of Lin Hai vanished.
"Run! Run!" someone shouted in terror.
These Blood Wolf Guild players were all survivors of the massacre Li Wu had previously in Black Wind Valley. They had witnessed firsthand the terrifying scene of Li Wu instantly killing dozens of people with a single arrow. Now, encountering him again, that unforgettable fear instantly surged into their hearts.
They had no courage to resist, and didn't even dare to look at Li Wu's face. They simply abandoned their armor and fled in a sorry state in the direction they had come from.
Li Wu did not give chase. He simply watched them flee calmly until their figures disappeared into the woods.
He put away the Arcane Bow and emerged from the woods.
Old Wang and Xiao Fang also came out from behind the woods. They looked at the dropped equipment left on the ground, their eyes filled with shock and admiration.
"Master...you...you're amazing!" Xiaofang was so excited she couldn't speak.
Old Wang nodded repeatedly, "Yes, Master! The Blood Wolf Guild members run away faster than rabbits when they see you, as if they've seen a ghost!"
Li Wu ignored them and walked straight towards the forest.
Lin Hai was completely stunned.
He looked at Li Wu, his eyes filled with disbelief and ecstasy.
"Are you alright?" Li Wu asked calmly.
Lin Hai finally came to his senses. He quickly clutched his chest and struggled to his feet. "I'm...I'm alright! Thank you so much for saving my life!"
"Why are the Blood Wolf Guild members hunting you down?" Li Wu asked directly.
Lin Hai hesitated for a moment, but then, as if he had made up his mind, he said, "Great Master, this is not the place to talk. If you don't mind, could I invite you to Ironforge for a chat?"
Li Wu glanced at him, thinking to himself, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Moreover, this Lin Hai seemed to know some inside information, so Li Wu decided to listen to what he had to say.
"Okay." Li Wu nodded.
"Great!" Lin Hai's face lit up with joy. He quickly took out several bottles of high-grade life potions from his backpack and gulped them down. His life points were instantly restored to a considerable extent.
"Great master, this way please!" Lin Hai respectfully gestured for him to enter.
Li Wu didn't stand on ceremony. He walked up to the dropped equipment and picked it up. They were all level 25 high-quality equipment with decent stats.
He glanced at it and casually tossed it to Lao Wang and Xiao Fang.
"You two should break up," Li Wu said.
"This...this is too much for us to do..." Old Wang hesitated.
"Yes, Master! You typed this!" Xiaofang said.
"Take it," Li Wu said. "I don't like it."
Li Wu's tone was calm, yet carried a sense of authority. Old Wang and Xiao Fang exchanged a glance, and ultimately accepted the equipment.
"Thank you so much, Master!" The two expressed their deepest gratitude.
Li Wu didn't say anything more. He turned to look at Lin Hai and said, "Let's go."
Lin Hai quickly followed, with Lao Wang and Xiao Fang close behind.
The group of four headed towards Ironforge.
Meanwhile, at a Bloodwolf guild stronghold in Ironforge.
Blood Wolf War Soul, the guild leader of the Blood Wolf Guild, sat at a large conference table with a grim expression. Standing before him were several members of the Blood Wolf Guild who had just escaped from the plains.
"Useless! A bunch of useless trash!" Blood Wolf War Soul slammed his fist on the table, making the teacups jump. "Five people, and you couldn't even kill a single player? You were scared away by Fog of the Flower! You still have the nerve to come back to see me?!"
Several Blood Wolf Guild members trembled with fear, not daring to lift their heads.
"Guild Master...it's not that we didn't try..." an archer said, trembling, "it's just that we were completely blinded by his strength...he was too powerful! He took down both of us in two arrows, we didn't dare to fight back at all!"
"Yes, Guild Master! He... he's a demon! We're no match for him!" another warrior said.
Helplessness appeared on Blood Wolf's face. He knew his subordinates weren't lying. He had personally experienced the power of the seemingly intangible guild. The terror of instantly killing a guild elite with a single arrow still lingered in his mind.
"Where is Lin Hai now?" Blood Wolf War Soul asked.
"N-no... I don't know," the archer said. "After Fog Sees Flower made its move, we... we ran away."
Blood Wolf War Soul closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. He knew very well that if Fog Seer really wanted to protect Lin Hai, they simply didn't have the ability to snatch him away right now.
"The guild's order is not to let that person get up!" Blood Wolf War Soul recalled the order issued by the superior guild.
Who exactly is this Lin Hai? How could the General Association take him so seriously, even going to great lengths to nip him in the bud?
"Alright," Blood Wolf War Soul waved his hand. "You guys go down first. Keep a close eye on the movements of Mist-Viewing Flowers and Lin Hai. If they separate, report to me immediately!"
"Yes, Guild Master!" Several Blood Wolf Guild members felt as if they had been granted a pardon and quickly retreated.
Blood Wolf War Soul sat in the chair, his eyes filled with resentment. The name "Seeing Flowers Through the Mist" had become a thorn in his heart. He vowed that one day he would personally pull that thorn out!
But now, he had to endure it. For the future of the guild, and for the orders of the headquarters.
He picked up the teacup and smashed it on the ground.
"Looking at flowers through the fog... Lin Hai... you just wait!"
