"Luo Xu, go change into some dark clothes first. We'll be leaving right away."

"Yes, Captain."

Luo Xu stepped onto the muddy road and hurried towards Galon's house. He didn't have any dark clothes, so he thought he would ask Sarah about them.

When I pushed open the door to the Galon family's house, Sarah was sitting in the hall, with Otto beside her.

"Sarah, I need a dark outfit," Luo Xu said. "I'm going out tonight."

Sarah looked at him, her fingers gripping the hem of her skirt tightly. After a moment, she instructed the butler, "Go and fetch a dark-colored outfit."

The butler quickly brought out a set of dark gray coarse cloth clothes. The fabric felt a bit stiff, but the color was dark enough that it wouldn't be easily seen at night.

"Go and see if it fits."

Luo Xu took the clothes and went to the guest room to change. Apart from the cuffs being a little short, there were no other problems.

After changing his clothes, he went downstairs.

"When are you leaving?" Sarah stood up, leaning on her cane, biting her lip, her voice a little hoarse.

"Now." Luo Xu unconsciously stopped in front of her, pursing his lips as he looked at her.

Luo Xu took a deep breath and stepped out of the Galon family home.

He had intended to say goodbye to Alina, but then he thought that if she knew what he was going to do, she definitely wouldn't let him leave.

The night sky was cloudless, and the bright moonlight enveloped the village of Lantas like a thin veil.

At the entrance to the west village, Walter and a group of militiamen were inspecting their equipment.

The group was dressed in dark clothing, carrying short spears and kite-shaped shields, with daggers hanging at their waists.

"Captain Walter."

Seeing Luo Xu approach, Walter said to him, "Tonight you and Speedy will go scout ahead and make sure you find out the location of the camp and what's going on inside."

"Remember, never act impulsively. If you are exposed, retreat immediately."

"Yes, Captain."

Luo Xu checked his equipment: an iron sword, a dagger, and a simple scabbard made of cowhide.

Feimaotui and Luo Xu had already communicated during the day, so they didn't say much and turned to disappear into the night.

The two set off from the west entrance of the village and headed north in the dark along the woods, which was the route that Speedy had taken yesterday.

Luo Xu walked ahead with light steps, occasionally having to wait for the swift-footed man behind him.

His enhanced reconnaissance skills allowed him to see much more clearly in the dark than Speedy; he could make out the outlines of tree trunks and the potholes in the ground.

Suddenly a small light appeared ahead.

"That's the band of robbers I was following yesterday," came the extremely low voice from behind.

Luo Xu stopped and squinted.

The band of robbers consisted of three people. The leader in front carried a torch and a single-edged sword, while the two robbers behind him carried a rather crude shield in addition to their single-edged swords.

According to Feimaotui, there was a grassy area not far ahead with no cover, and that's where they lost track of him.

The two followed for a while, and sure enough, a meadow appeared ahead.

Three robbers walked along the country road and stepped onto the grassland.

Just as Swiftfoot was about to follow, Luo Xu stopped him: "It's easy to be spotted up ahead, wait a moment."

"No, once we cross the grass, there's a thicket of bushes taller than a person, making it even easier to lose them."

"I know, but it would be disastrous if they turned back halfway. There's moonlight tonight, so we won't lose them."

Speedy's palms were already sweating, but thankfully he listened to Luo Xu.

As the robbers were about to cross the meadow, Luo Xu whispered, "Let's go."

The two kept their bodies low and quickly crossed the grass.

After carefully slipping into the bushes, Speedy realized he could no longer see the firelight, and his heart sank.

"This way."

As he turned his head around, Luo Xu pulled him onto a path.

The two turned left and right, and the firelight reappeared before their eyes.

They weren't far from the three robbers, separated by a few rows of trees. The torchlight flickered in the woods, casting distorted shadows of the three men.

Luo Xu and Fei Maotui tiptoed and followed them silently.

"I'm exhausted, it's finally my turn to change shifts." A resentful voice came over.

"You still have the nerve to complain about being tired?" another voice chimed in, a bit shriller than the first, its tone mocking. "Which lazybones slept under that big tree for half the afternoon?"

"Go to hell, you filthy bastard, you haven't slept yet?" the first voice retorted, but there was no anger in its tone; it was more like a playful argument.

They quickly stopped talking and continued looking around.

The two followed the bandits northward. After passing through a dense forest, the terrain began to steepen, and the muddy path under their feet turned into gravel and exposed tree roots.

The three robbers had lost their initial vigilance and started chatting idly.

"Gage, I want to sleep with women."

"What's the rush? If we break through that village tomorrow, there will be plenty of women for you to play with."

After walking for a while, a faint light appeared ahead. Luo Xu pulled his swift legs along for a few steps and then hid behind a bush.

Ahead was a campfire, illuminating a small clearing around it. Two bandits sat around the fire, with gnawed bones piled up beside them.

Luo Xu hid behind the bushes and carefully observed the branches in front of him.

This should be the outermost camp of the bandits.

In the game, to reduce the difficulty, the bandits' camps are not just one, but are divided into multiple camps.

In this case, the bandits probably did this to avoid being wiped out in one fell swoop.

The three bandits walked past the campfire. The sitting bandit only glanced up at it before continuing to doze off.

Luo Xu noted down the location of the campfire and signaled Fei Maotui to follow.

The two silently bypassed the first campfire and continued to follow the three bandits.

The path beneath our feet grew steeper and steeper, and the gravel made a soft, scraping sound as it rubbed against the soles of our shoes.

After walking for a while, Luo Xu suddenly stopped and pointed ahead.

A short distance ahead, a figure holding a torch was pacing back and forth on the path.

He was a patrolling sentry.

"The main camp should be just ahead," Speedy said in a low voice.

Luo Xu did not advance immediately. He memorized the sentry's patrol route before bypassing him.

Ahead was a mountainside, and a cave suddenly appeared in view.
