Another World Witch Training Manual
079. Solution
"Spare you?" Kobok let out a harsh, cold laugh.
"Tell me then, why should I spare you?"
"I, my father..." Dali stammered, as if grasping at a last straw.
"If you spare me this time, my father will be extremely grateful to you..."
"Maverlier?" Kobock's voice was full of sarcasm. "You think the name 'Maverlier' can protect you?"
Dali's face turned completely pale.
He suddenly realized that the old man standing in front of him was no ordinary nobleman at all.
He was the head of the Fesalie clan and a seasoned politician who had just brought down the Marquis Tanstin.
The Maverlier family was merely a mid-level noble family, utterly insignificant compared to the Fesari family.
"Lord Kobok..." Dali's voice was already trembling with sobs.
"Please! Please spare me this time! I'll do anything you want! Just spare me..."
Kobok ignored him and instead turned to Sinlai, bowing deeply.
"Your Highness," his voice was hoarse and solemn, "we owe everything to you today. If you hadn't discovered and stopped it in time, the reputation of the Fesalie clan would have been completely ruined by these two shameless scoundrels."
Xinlai waved her hand: "Lord Kobok, you flatter me. I was just doing what I felt was right. Anyone would have done the same."
"No," Kobok shook his head, "I, Kobok, will remember this kindness. From now on, whatever Your Highness the Third Prince needs, the Fesalie clan will do everything in its power to assist you."
These words were extremely serious, and a barely perceptible glint flashed in Xin Lai's eyes, but her face remained calm and composed.
"You're too kind, Your Excellency Kobok," he said. "It's more important to deal with the immediate matter at hand."
Kobock nodded, turned around, and his gaze fell on Dali again. His cloudy old eyes were now filled with icy killing intent.
"Dali," he said, emphasizing each word, "From today onwards, Faisal will sever all ties with Mavliel."
Dali's body jolted violently, and his face turned ashen.
The words "sever all ties" coming from the head of the Fesalie clan signified a complete break between the two families.
This was nothing short of a catastrophe for Mavlier.
"No, no!" Dali's voice had completely changed.
"Lord Kobock, please don't! My father will kill me..."
That's your problem.
Kobok said coldly, then turned to his bodyguard beside him, "Go, draft a statement, affix my seal, and send it to Damfelier's residence."
"Let us declare that Dali Dali has insulted the honor of my Fesari family, and from this day forward, our two families shall have no further connection."
The guards obeyed and left.
Dali slumped to the ground, his whole body limp as if his bones had been removed, turning into a lump of mud.
His lips trembled violently, uttering indistinct sounds that seemed to be both pleading and muttering to himself.
However, Kobock did not give up.
He walked step by step to Dali, leaning on his cane, and looked down at him.
In those cloudy old eyes, besides anger and humiliation, there was something even more terrifying:
That is hatred.
A hatred etched deep in one's bones.
"You think that's all?" Kobok's voice was as cold as a wind blowing from an ice cellar.
Dali looked up, his eyes filled with fear.
Kobock didn't say another word. Instead, he suddenly raised his foot and stomped hard on Dali's groin.
"ah--!!!"
A heart-wrenching scream shattered the silence of the room. Dali curled up on the floor like a shrimp whose tail had been stepped on, his hands clutching his groin. All the color drained from his face in an instant, replaced by a deathly pale, almost transparent color.
His mouth was wide open, but no sound came out.
He had just been kicked twice by Xin Lai, damaging his foundation, and it was only with great difficulty that the doctor healed him with magic...
The intense, unbearable pain flaring up on his wound caused his vocal cords to lose function in an instant.
He could only stand there like a fish thrown ashore, mouth agape, his body convulsing violently, veins bulging like earthworms on his forehead, neck, and the back of his hands.
Kobok did not stop.
He steadied himself with his cane, then raised his foot again and kicked the same spot hard once more.
This time, everyone heard a clear, teeth-grinding "snap".
It looked like something had broken.
Dali's body arched suddenly, like a fully drawn bow, and then crashed heavily back to the ground.
His eyes rolled back, white foam spilled from the corners of his mouth, and his whole body convulsed uncontrollably on the ground. A dark, wet stain, mixed with something else, quickly seeped into his crotch.
The woman, who was slumped on the ground, witnessed everything, and all the color drained from her face in an instant.
Her lips trembled violently, and she let out a sharp scream, as if she were being choked. Then, as if all her strength had been drained, she collapsed limply to the ground.
Xinlai sat in the chair, her hand holding the teacup paused slightly, her gaze falling on Kobok's extremely cold old face, a complex look flashing in her eyes.
He neither spoke nor stopped them.
Kobok stood there, leaning on his cane, panting heavily.
There was no trace of pleasure on his face, only a deep, almost twisted grief and indignation.
"Drag them away," he said hoarsely, "and throw them back at the Mavelier residence. Tell them this is a return gift from the Fesari family."
The guards looked at each other, but dared not hesitate for a moment. They quickly stepped forward and dragged the unconscious Dali away.
A shocking trail of blood was left on the ground, and a nauseating stench filled the air.
Silence fell in the room once again.
The woman slumped to the ground, trembling uncontrollably. Her eyes were fixed on the bloodstain, her lips quivering, but she couldn't utter a single word.
Kobok turned around and glanced at her.
There was no anger or hatred in that look, only a deep, suffocating weariness.
"You," his voice was so hoarse it was almost inaudible, "go back to your room. Don't step out of your room without my permission."
The woman raised her head, her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but when she met Kobock's extremely cold eyes, she swallowed all her words.
She struggled to her feet and staggered toward the door. Reaching the doorway, she suddenly stopped, turned back, and glanced at Xinlai.
In that one glance, there was hatred, resentment, helplessness, and also a hint of something indescribable, almost pleading.
Xinlai looked back at her expressionlessly and shook her head slightly.
The woman's lips trembled slightly, then she turned and left, disappearing into the hallway outside the door.
