Dragon Raja: The Divine Man Lu Mingfei

Chapter 33 Odin: Father, you're not dead!

Su Xiaoqiang seemed stunned by this truth, and it took her a while to come back to her senses. She asked incredulously, "Since hybrids possess strength far exceeding that of ordinary people, why do they remain hidden behind the scenes?"

"Good question. You're the one to answer this, Nuonuo." Lu Mingfei nudged Nuonuo, who was gripping the steering wheel, with his elbow.

"The most direct reason is to avoid social panic and the collapse of order." Nono's voice was steady. "If ordinary people knew that dragons really existed, and that there were hybrids, these 'human-dragon hybrids,' the whole society would fall into chaos. Panic, rejection, and even violence would follow, and the existing social structure would completely collapse." She paused, her tone becoming more complicated. "But that's only the surface reason. The more fundamental reason is the 'sorrow of blood'—the dragon blood in hybrids makes them inherently lonely to the bone, like eternal outsiders, unable to integrate into the human world, and unwilling to form deep bonds with ordinary people."

Lu Mingfei immediately clapped and cheered, then turned to Su Xiaoqiang in the back row and explained in plain language: "That's spot on! But it's a bit too formal. Let me translate it for you—to put it bluntly, those mixed-race people are divided into two groups. One group is a bunch of madmen who only want to slay dragons, and the other group is a bunch of fools who dream of reverting to their ancestral form and becoming dragons, and then becoming local tyrants! No matter which one, in their eyes, ordinary people are just a bunch of sheep with a little bit of humanity. They disdain associating with you from the bottom of their hearts, and they won't even give you the chance to know the truth of the world."

Su Xiaoqiang frowned, clearly still processing this shocking information. It took her a while to recover before she asked in a deep voice, "What... exactly is a dragon?"

"Good question—just in time, look, here it comes." Lu Mingfei raised his hand and pointed forward, tilting his chin slightly to indicate that Su Xiaoqiang should look in that direction.

At the end of the road where the red Maserati sped along, a towering figure, as majestic as a mountain, suddenly appeared. It was a pure white steed, its coat gleaming with a cold, crystalline light, clad in heavy armor inlaid with metallic patterns. Its eight thick legs, as strong as crane supports, stood firmly on the ground, every inch of its muscles exuding a breathtaking power.

A massive black shadow sat atop the horse, its dark gold armor gleaming eerily in the rain. In its hand it gripped a curved spear, its tip pointing skyward. The shadow's face was covered by a cold, iron mask, revealing only a narrow eye that stared indifferently ahead, as if waiting for its prey to walk into its trap.

"This is... Odin?" Nono's voice, tinged with uncertainty, came from the driver's seat. As a student at Kassel College, she had systematically studied dragon-related knowledge, and the image of Odin, the chief god of Norse mythology, was already etched in her mind. She never dreamed that she would encounter someone of this caliber in such a small seaside town.

At first, a flicker of fear crossed her mind, but when she caught a glimpse of Lu Mingfei, who remained calm and composed beside her, she instantly realized her worries were completely unnecessary. She simply breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Lu Mingfei, asking, "What's next? Should we just create our way through?"

As she spoke, a sudden gleam of excitement flashed in her eyes, an emotion she herself was unaware of. Her gaze was eager, as if she anticipated personally taking the steering wheel and directly destroying a dragon king-level being.

"Odin? Odin..." Lu Mingfei didn't answer Nuonuo's question. Ever since she uttered that name, he had been muttering it to himself, his fingers unconsciously tapping his knee, his brow furrowed, as if digging into a long-forgotten memory. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, as if a newfound understanding had dawned on him: "I remember! It's this BYD!"

"Huh? What are you talking about? I don't understand." Nono frowned, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

"I mean, I finally remembered whose technique you were made of!" Lu Mingfei's face was beaming with excitement, clearly this discovery put him in a great mood.

"Huh? Seriously? Are you sure you want to talk about this at a time like this?" Nono was speechless at his sudden change of topic, and helplessly rubbed her forehead. "I asked you if you wanted to just create it, so give me an answer."

"No need, let's just leave it here. If this car is totaled, it won't be convenient to go back later." Although Lu Mingfei had countless ways to get back, none of them were as comfortable as having someone else drive him.

Lu Mingfei didn't rush to get out of the car. Sitting in the passenger seat, he pointed to Odin's mountain-like figure ahead and turned to explain to Su Xiaoqiang, "You heard it too, that thing is called Odin, the chief god in Norse mythology, right? But to put it simply, it's a dragon. Actually, there are quite a few dragons in the history you've learned, but they were all hidden by those hybrids. These dragons used to be the rulers of the world, but they were overthrown by humans because they weren't ambitious enough, which led to the world we have now. The truth is that simple."

Su Xiaoqiang, who had been struggling to breathe under Odin's suffocating pressure, felt the pressure dissipate considerably after hearing Lu Mingfei's nonchalant tone, as if a punctured balloon had been released. Her mind finally started working again, and she began frantically processing the mind-blowing truths about the world she had just learned.

Seeing her lost in thought, Lu Mingfei turned to Nuonuo and continued, "I felt the technology used to create you looked familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. When you mentioned Odin, I finally remembered—it's this guy! I remember him perfectly well; this BYD loves to hide behind the scenes and plot..."

Lu Mingfei's words came to an abrupt halt when a deafening neigh suddenly erupted through the rain. The three people in the car looked up sharply, and the sound was coming from the throat of the eight-legged steed beneath Odin. The neigh was filled with indescribable ferocity, causing the car windows to tremble slightly.

Clearly, Odin, impatient with the three of them huddled in the chariot and unwilling to dismount, grew impatient. He first had his eight-legged steed neigh to establish order, then spoke in a majestic tone as if from the heavens above, each word carrying an undeniable pressure: "Mortals, come and pay your respects!"

"Tsk tsk tsk, look at him, he doesn't bring an umbrella in the rain, likes to get wet, and likes to do some inexplicable things and say things he thinks are cool. This is a top-notch Jiahao!" Lu Mingfei remained seated, pointing out the window with a mocking smile.

Nono, who had been pondering the connection between Odin and herself, immediately understood upon hearing Lu Mingfei's words and burst out laughing. Perhaps infected by this relaxed atmosphere, Su Xiaoqiang in the back seat relaxed her tense face and smiled, filling the car with a cheerful atmosphere.

But Odin outside could no longer tolerate it. Although it didn't fully understand Lu Mingfei's words, the undisguised contempt in his tone was deafening.

It intended to command its surrounding dead servants to attack and force the people inside the carriage out, but those servants, completely under its control, remained frozen in place, refusing to budge an inch, no matter what commands it gave. Left with no other option, Odin had to personally intervene, intending to inflict divine punishment on the carriage and its occupants.

Odin spurred his eight-legged steed forward, but the moment its foot touched the ground, a powerful sense of unease gripped its heart. His instincts, those of a supreme being, screamed a warning, as if a majestic voice echoed in his ears: "You may only go this far; you may not cross it."

An unknown sense of terror instantly enveloped it completely, and Odin trembled violently uncontrollably. When it forced itself to suppress the fear in its heart and came back to its senses, it was shocked to find that it had unknowingly retreated to a place more than a hundred meters away from the Maserati.

The God-King cannot be insulted!

A surge of rage instantly overwhelmed Odin's reason. A sharp golden light flashed in its single eye, and even through the cold iron mask, one could feel the almost ferocious fury. Just as it gripped its spear, preparing to launch a ranged attack, it suddenly saw a husky being thrown from the back seat of a fiery red Maserati.

Odin was completely puzzled when, in the next second, a dazzling golden light suddenly shone in the eyes of the seemingly silly husky.

The eight-legged steed beneath it, like an ordinary foal that had encountered its natural enemy, suddenly reared up, let out a panicked neigh, and then violently swung its body, throwing Odin off its back to the ground. Without looking back, it fled madly in the opposite direction.

Odin crashed heavily to the ground, his heavy armor slamming against the earth with a deafening roar, splashing water everywhere. But he paid no heed to wiping the rain from his face, nor to his disheveled state; he simply stared intently at the husky that was steadily approaching him, a hoarse, trembling voice escaping his throat:

"Father...you're not dead!"
