Chapter 69 Christina's Super Curiosity

Dominic smiled and shrugged:

"Richard, don't worry about it, your mentor is a strict person."

Richard glanced at him but said nothing.

The others looked at Richard with schadenfreude.

Richard looked around, and his mental and physical senses at 12 o'clock gave him a clear understanding of everyone's psychology.

Of all the people in the vicinity, only Helen was truly worried about him; her eyes were filled with concern as she looked at him.

Helen walked to Richard's side and whispered:

"Richard, it's alright."

Helen also climbed up from the bottom and didn't fit in with the locals.

She has no parents; Richard's parents live far away at Tokyo University.

She looked at Richard with a sense of shared misfortune.

However, what she didn't know was that Richard no longer cared about Calderson at all.

He set his sights on Christina, who was the most valuable person at the entire banquet.

The two exchanged a few quiet words, and Richard then saw Doug give him a look from afar.

Richard whispered in Helen's ear:

"I have something to attend to, excuse me, I'll talk to you later."

He left in a hurry after saying that.

As Richard left, everyone assumed he was too embarrassed to stand it and had run away, and they all chuckled with schadenfreude.

Tang Yuqing chuckled as well.

A white man next to him suddenly said jokingly:

"New York is full of yellow-skinned people."

Everyone laughed even harder.

Tang Yuqing was stunned for a moment, and could only awkwardly force a smile, cursing Richard in her heart.

If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have been embarrassed.

Only Victor Anderson didn't laugh.

Brian had warned him long ago that he should never mess with Richard.

He has no other redeeming qualities; his only advantage is that he is obedient.

He didn't understand why his father valued that boy from Tokyo University so much, but he did whatever his father told him to do.

It was precisely because of this that he, with only average talent, smoothly became a police inspector in the Washington, D.C. Police Department.

If his father can successfully serve two or three more terms, he might be able to climb to the position of Washington, D.C. Police Chief.

Perhaps Richard's family has a deep background in the East?

"Excuse me," he said, unwilling to participate in the group's mockery, and slowly left.

After the Anderson family left, some people laughed even more unrestrainedly.

Calderson's hostility towards Richard was ostensibly a blow to Richard's pride, but more importantly, it humiliated Brian.

Richard was just an orphan from the East, so it was normal for the dean of Princeton to look down on him.

But who is Brian? A nine-term legislator and former NYPD director, he was just one step away from becoming a member of the New York elite.

If even one of his children becomes a member of the House of Representatives, the Anderson family will be able to rise to become a truly prominent family in New York.

Some people are laughing at Calderson for being brainless.

Calderson is the dean of Princeton University, a position of great prestige.

However, after leaving Princeton, Calderson did not have any real influence and was far from being a local power figure like Brian Anderson.

This incident shows that Calderson is incredibly tactless. You've already written the recommendation letter; even if you're unhappy, there's no need to offend Brian to his face. What's wrong with saying a few nice words?

......

Richard entered the main house.

Only Doug was waiting at the gate:

"Mr. Brian asked me to inform you that Christina Shepard is in the first drawing room on the right, alone."

Richard understood and went inside.

While everyone else was busy socializing outside, Richard's actions went largely unnoticed.

Doug closed the door and left.

Richard politely knocked on the door of the reception room.

Christina's cool voice came from inside:

"Please come in, Chief Carter."

Richard smiled slightly and pushed open the door to enter the room.

Christina was taken aback. How could it be a young man?

"You've come to the wrong room, young man."

Richard shook his head:

"No, I'm sure I want to come here."

After saying that, he locked the door from the inside.

This action left Christina somewhat bewildered.

She had no idea what Richard was going to do, and she didn't even sense the danger approaching.

She had been at the top of society for decades and hadn't faced any personal threats in a long time, so she couldn't even think about her personal safety for a moment.

Richard didn't even see a flicker of tension or fear in her eyes.

"Child, have you got the wrong person...?"

Before she could finish speaking, she saw a glint in Richard's eyes, and then everything went black before her eyes, and she collapsed to the ground without a sound.

Richard moved swiftly, quickly stepping forward to support her and gently placing her on the carpet without making a sound.

The magical hand kept its grip on her carotid artery.

Outside the window, people were drinking and chatting, and no one noticed the unusual situation inside the room.

Soon, an aura of death emanated from Christina.

Richard's heart skipped a beat:

"The dead have risen!"

A surge of magical power erupted.

Christina opened her eyes again quickly, as if she had just woken from a dream.

She looked at Richard, her eyes blank for a few seconds, then quickly regained their composure and exclaimed in surprise:

"OMG! I just died? You resurrected me? Are you God?"

Richard said calmly:

"You can call me master."

"There really is a God?!" Christina was overjoyed and made the sign of the cross.

"The Bible is right after all!"

Richard couldn't quite understand it.

It's one thing for ordinary people to believe in God, but why would a top scientist like Christina believe in God?

Do you believe in God?

Christina said excitedly:

"Of course! I personally experienced being resurrected from the dead. Isn't that a miracle? The Bible has indeed been tampered with by those damned Catholics. The real God is completely different from the God in the book."

Are you treating me like God? Richard was speechless.

This woman's thought process is rather peculiar.

Christina then asked a series of questions:

"How did you revive me? Did my brainwaves stop just now? Was the cortical nerve discharge pattern the same as before? What is the cardiac automaticity restart mechanism? It's amazing!"

"How did my tissue damage heal? I didn't feel any headaches or near-death experiences; how were the metabolic waste products from near-death experiences eliminated?"

"How is the capillary perfusion? Did you forcibly terminate the apoptosis program? How was the apoptosis pathway reversed? Are the hippocampus and memory center intact? What about the telomeres? The cell membrane? ATP?"

Instead of being afraid or flustered, she was filled with curiosity and asked dozens of questions in one go.

"These questions can be addressed later," Richard interrupted Christina's questions.

Is this what a top scientist is like?

After experiencing life and death, the first reaction is not fear or relief, but to explore the underlying principles.

Christina shut her mouth, but couldn't help it:

"My lord, is your resurrection ability applicable to all species? Can it resurrect low-level prokaryotes? Have you tried insects? Are there any size limitations, such as blue whales...?"

Richard had a bit of a headache and could only emphasize again:

"Shut up! Listen to me!"

Christina then shut her mouth completely.
