Four Skills for All.

Chapter 4 I Can Read You

Zheng Yi, who was walking ahead, was somewhat angry when he saw Mo Xiu stop and stare blankly.

"Mo Xiu, why are you acting so strangely today? Come on, let's go back to class."

"Okay, coming right away."

Back in the classroom, because the college entrance examination was just around the corner, the mornings were fixed as self-study periods, and the afternoons were fixed as training sessions at the martial arts training ground.

Mo Xiu sat in his seat, lost in thought, carefully examining his skills.

The passive skill "Flip" remains unchanged, but "God's Gaze" is gone, replaced by "The Descent of the God of War".

After much deliberation, Mo Xiu believed that it was possible that everything he saw during his awakening was real, and that he had simply chosen three skills.

One passive skill and two active skills. Normally, only one active skill can be seen. The passive skill is used to switch between the two active skills, but the triggering condition is unknown and cannot be switched manually.

Passive skills? What exactly are passive skills?

He suddenly stood up and ran out of the classroom to the library.

Senior high school students can also choose to study in the library, but nowadays the college entrance examination places more emphasis on practical ability and skills, so there are usually not many people there.

Mo Xiu spent the entire morning perusing numerous ancient texts but found no record of passive skills.

The only skill mentioned that is similar to a passive skill is the beast's skill.

Unlike humans who have four skills, beasts only have one skill, but the skill has a high growth potential.

Since the meteorite fell to Earth, both humans and animals have undergone mutations, with their physical abilities significantly enhanced and skills developed. Animals have also experienced a significant increase in intelligence, leading to a decade-long battle between humans and other creatures.

Ultimately, both sides signed an agreement to not interfere with each other, with humans living in the central part of the continent and animals living on the periphery.

Although there are occasional frictions, they are only isolated incidents and do not lead to large-scale wars, which is why humans live relatively peacefully today.

After a fruitless search, Mo Xiu sat dejectedly in his chair. What could he do? His passive skill hadn't appeared; how could he trigger the flip again?

"Young man, I've noticed you've been browsing through many books for a long time. Do you have any questions?"

Mo Xiu's thoughts were interrupted by the sudden, aged voice. He looked up and saw it was the librarian, who usually stayed in the library.

"Ah, hello, there are indeed some things I can't figure out."

The old man slowly sat down, took the book from Mo Xiu's hand, closed it, and placed it under his palm.

"Tell me about it. I've been here for ten years and know every individual here intimately."

Individuals? Shouldn't it be all the books?

Mo Xiu was puzzled, but still asked, "What kinds of skills are there?"

The old man slowly explained: "Skills are divided into release skills, status skills, one-time skills, and mutation skills."

"Oh, what about larger categories?"

Mo Xiu certainly wouldn't directly ask if he knew what a passive skill was; he could only ask little by little.

"Attack skills, reconnaissance skills, deception skills, and special skills."

"What about even broader categories?"

"Ability that can be developed, ability that cannot be developed."

"Make it bigger!"

"What exactly do you want to ask?"

Mo Xiu stood up, scratched his head, and said, "It's nothing, I was just asking. I'm leaving now, sorry to bother you!"

"I can read you."

Mo Xiu didn't understand what the old man meant, so he could only smile, nod, and step back.

"Skills are divided into ordinary skills and innate skills. Innate skills are not only possessed by beasts; some humans also possess them, such as... royalty!"

Mo Xiu paused halfway down the path; this old man was definitely no ordinary person.

Thinking of this, Mo Xiu quickened his pace.

The old man watched Mo Xiu's departing figure, a smile playing on his lips, as if he had discovered something interesting.

……

After leaving the library, Mo Xiu ate a quick bite and went to the training ground, wanting to try out the "Descent of the Martial God" skill when there were fewer people there.

The innate skill that old man mentioned might just be a passive skill, but how could I possibly be royalty? I couldn't figure it out, so I simply stopped thinking about it.

Upon arriving at the training ground, it was packed with people even at midday, whether because everyone was studying hard due to the approaching college entrance examination or simply by chance.

Since he was already here, Mo Xiu could only conduct normal training. Moreover, the Descent of the God of War increases all attributes by 100%, and the higher his base attributes are, the stronger he will be after using the skill.

Arriving at the specially designed treadmill, Mo Xiu prepared to practice speed endurance to exhaustion as usual, then rest for a while before doing strength training.

This is a method that Mo Xiu himself summarized to unleash potential and break through limits.

Before Mo Xiu could even begin training, Zheng Yi ran over looking unhappy.

"Hey Mo Xiu, you're really not being fair! How come you just ran off to study and I couldn't find you anywhere?"

Mo Xiu said awkwardly, "I just went to the library to look up some information, and I forgot to tell you."

Zheng Yi, hands on his hips, said, "It's alright, I'm magnanimous, I forgive you..."

"Bang!!!"

Before Zheng Yi could finish speaking, a loud crash came from the ceiling.

A large hole appeared in the alloy ceiling of the training ground, and a dark shadow more than three meters tall fell from the sky amidst the smoke and dust.

As the dust settled, everyone present gasped in surprise.

"My God, this...this is a ferocious beast?"

This was indeed a ferocious beast, a huge species resembling an eagle, standing over three meters tall in the center of the arena, giving off an invisible pressure.

Mo Xiu frowned and said, "This is a Demon Eagle, it has two forms, and it hasn't entered combat mode yet. Run!"

Mo Xiu's voice grew louder and louder, and when he said the last two words, "Run!", he almost roared them out.

Upon hearing Mo Xiu's warning, everyone realized what was happening and immediately ran towards the main gate.

Mo Xiu had seen this species in a book before; it was called the Demon Eagle, and it was inherently ferocious, with the ability to transform.

The Demon Eagle has two forms: a flight form and a weaker offensive form.

Another form is the transformed state, where the wings retract into the body and are replaced by two strong and powerful forelimbs, greatly increasing combat power and making the user bloodthirsty.

Even with Mo Xiu's reminder, the reaction time was still too long. By this time, the Blood Eagle's black wings had disappeared, replaced by a pair of blood-red forelimbs.

The demonic eagle took a step forward, as fast as lightning, and arrived at the door in an instant, blocking everyone's way.

Everyone panicked and looked at Mo Xiu, not because they hoped he could defeat the Demon Eagle, but because Mo Xiu had just recognized the Demon Eagle.

Mo Xiu lowered his head slightly and threw his coat on the ground.

"war!!!"
