Four Skills for All.

Chapter 12, Lesson 1

"We will continue the fight!"

Not only Mo Xiu, but Mu Qingyi, Yue Yuan, and Liu Ziyang also looked at Wang Lei with fighting spirit in their eyes.

Wang Lei smiled with satisfaction and said, "Not bad, the first lesson is over."

Mo Xiu and his companions were puzzled. The first lesson? Was it over?

Wang Lei's voice rang out again.

"The first lesson is resilience. Yesterday, you gave up during the second challenge, but today you took the initiative to challenge. Even though you were facing an invincible enemy, you made different choices."

"When facing an enemy many times stronger than yourself, the first lesson is to choose to be unyielding. During the great war, when humans faced the powerful Beast King who did not have skill cooldowns, they were even more desperate than you. But that generation did not give up and chose to fight in order to protect their homeland and loved ones."

"That battle was a bloodbath, a battlefield littered with corpses. It was the greatest calamity in human history, yet also the most glorious. It protected humanity's homeland and preserved hope."

"Although I am not your enemy, I want to teach you that when there is no way to retreat on the battlefield, you must summon your fighting spirit. What does it matter how strong the enemy is? Haven't people created enough miracles when they unleash their potential?"

Wang Lei's words deeply moved Mo Xiu and the other three. Although they had never witnessed the war firsthand, their peaceful lives today were all thanks to that war.

Therefore, Mo Xiu was no stranger to that war. Wang Lei was right; one must always maintain the will to fight when facing an enemy.

"Alright, that's enough for today. We'll rest for the rest of the time. The individual battles start tomorrow."

Mo Xiu asked, "Teacher, what does 'individual combat' mean?"

"It's the four of you, fighting in pairs."

Mo Xiu and his three companions were somewhat bewildered. Was this even possible?

After the practical training session, Yue Yuan treated the group and then left. Tomorrow was the individual battle, and everyone needed to be prepared.

Mo Xiu was no exception. After returning to his room, he organized his notes and then analyzed how to fight the other people he encountered.

After dinner, Mo Xiu walked out of the courtyard alone and started practicing boxing on a large rock.

Having been here for two days without doing any basic training or boxing, Mo Xiu still felt it was best not to fall behind.

Before he could finish a set of punches, he heard a silvery laugh behind him.

"Hehehe, Mo Xiu, you're working way too hard!"

Mo Xiu turned around and saw that the beautiful figure was none other than Mu Qingyi.

"Likewise, I'm just a poor boy working so hard to get ahead, but it's even more commendable that a young lady like you works so hard."

Upon hearing Mo Xiu's words, Mu Qingyi suddenly lowered her head with a touch of sadness.

Mo Xiu didn't know much about Mu Qingyi and had never seen her like this before.

They would train until the school closed, and often left together, but they weren't very close.

The two walked together, exchanging a few simple greetings. Once they reached the school gate, Mu Qingyi was picked up by a car that had been waiting there for a long time.

Even so, Mu Qingyi was the girl Mo Xiu was closest to throughout high school.

Mu Qingyi remained silent, and Mo Xiu was at a loss for words, unsure whether to say something or simply leave.

Mu Qingyi jumped onto the big rock and sat down on it, not caring whether the rock was dirty or not.

The rock was quite high, and Mu Qingyi, sitting on the edge, couldn't touch the ground with her feet, so her feet dangled in the air.

He turned around, flashed a bright smile, and said, "Want to sit for a while?"

Mo Xiu wasn't a womanizer, but he was still captivated by the elegant Mu Qingyi before him.

"What's wrong? Are you, a grown man, afraid of a little woman like me?"

Mo Xiu regained his senses and went straight to sit down next to Mu Qingyi.

"Of course I'm afraid of you. What man isn't afraid of women, especially a beautiful woman like you?"

Mu Qingyi burst out laughing.

"Haha, I didn't expect you, a blockhead, to be so eloquent."

Mo Xiu smiled and looked ahead without speaking. Moonlight, gentle breeze, beautiful woman—who wouldn't yearn for such a leisurely and peaceful life?

The two sat there quietly, neither speaking nor appearing awkward, as if they were simply meant to be there watching the night.

"It's very comfortable to be with you."

The two spoke in unison, then looked at each other and smiled.

Mu Qingyi brushed a strand of hair that had been blown down by the breeze and said, "I'm working hard not because I want to, but because I don't want to go home."

"kindness."

Mo Xiu responded with a soft "hmm," without saying anything more, because he knew that Mu Qingyi needed a listener most right now.

"My parents made me learn all sorts of skills, hired specialized teachers to teach me practical skills, and made me make friends with people they wanted me to make friends with. I didn't have any time to think about things or do things on my own every day."

"kindness."

"Every day at school, I was strictly disciplined by them. I wasn't allowed to make friends on my own. After school, I had to go home, and I had to socialize for meals. I didn't have a single minute to myself."

"kindness."

"Gradually, I felt that I was no longer myself. Everything about me was arranged. Maybe that knowledge was important, maybe what the teachers taught would be useful in the future, maybe the people I made friends with were all very capable, but I wanted to be myself, make my own friends at school, and go out for a meal together after school."

"kindness."

"What I want is that simple, but I can't get it, so I started training like crazy. I didn't go home after school and trained until the school closed because I felt that only when I trained alone could I get rid of all this and think about things quietly by myself."

"kindness."

"I want to slow down, slow down life, and enjoy every little thing in it."

"kindness."

"Mo Xiu".

"Yes, I'm listening."

"Do you think I'm wrong? In this era that idolizes strength, am I wrong?"

"You could say you're wrong, or you could say the world is wrong."

"So who do you think is wrong?"

"This world is wrong!"

Mu Qingyi covered her mouth and chuckled, "Hehehe, so what should we do if the world is wrong?"

Mo Xiu looked earnestly at Mu Qingyi and said, "Then let's change the world!"

Mu Qingyi was touched by Mo Xiu's words. She knew that what Mo Xiu said was impossible, and she also knew that he might just be trying to comfort her.

But Mu Qingyi was still very grateful to Mo Xiu, for speaking her mind for the first time and receiving his approval.

Mu Qingyi leaned closer to Mo Xiu.

"Mo Xiu, Mu Qingyi, you're here too!"

Liu Ziyang came out of the yard at some point and called out when he saw the two people.

Mu Qingyi, who was about to lean on Mo Xiu's head, suddenly pulled it back, sat up straight, and lowered her head to wipe away her tears.

"Mo Xiu, it's getting late, go back and rest. You had a very pleasant day, thank you."

Mo Xiu jumped off the rock and said, "I'm also very grateful to you."

Mu Qingyi found solace, and so did Mo Xiu. For so many years, Mo Xiu had been constantly on edge, never letting his guard down for a moment.

Just now, I felt an unprecedented sense of relief. The phrase "change the world" was not a joke. At that moment, Mo Xiu truly wanted to change the world.

The two walked side by side, ignoring Liu Ziyang as he passed by, and went straight back to their room.

Liu Ziyang scratched his head and muttered, "What's wrong with these two? Are they sleepwalking?"
