Hong Kong 1980: Me and the Queen Swapped Clothes

Chapter 51 What's wrong with changing into a white shirt?

How difficult can it be to make a little girl happy?

This was what Fang Yanmei had in mind before accepting the task.

Especially when she saw a bright-eyed, white-toothed girl acting cute and charming in front of her, even though Fang Yanmei was a woman, she could only find it pleasing to the eye.

But after Fang Yanmei finished speaking, seeing Wang Zuxian's face gradually turn cold in front of her, Fang Yanmei suddenly felt a pang of unease and realized that she had said the wrong thing.

"Well, Xiaoxian, you could change your clothes so I can take another look. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me." Fang Yanmei was flexible and knew how to make amends for what she had said that upset Wang Zuxian.

Joey Wong stared at Fang Yanmei, her arms crossed coldly, a sneer on her face, as if listening to what lies Fang Yanmei could come up with to fool her.

Well, I have to say, even though Fang Yanmei has experienced countless ups and downs, she still felt a bit embarrassed looking at Wang Zuxian's expression. She realized that she really hadn't thought things through when she spoke.

She subconsciously assumed that she was just shopping with her best friend, completely ignoring her current situation. She was inside Qin Weiming's body, so she was helping Qin Weiming pursue a girlfriend, not trying to keep him single.

After racking her brains, Fang Yanmei finally managed to say, "Try the white one, or if you want to see what I wear, I can change for you."

There was nothing Fang Yanmei could do. Lacking romantic experience, she simply couldn't come up with as many things to say to make Wang Zuxian happy as the master of diplomacy, Qin Weiming. So when she spoke, she had a stuttering quality, and when Wang Zuxian continued to stare at her intently, Fang Yanmei felt so nervous that she was sweating on her back.

There was no way around it, she was too nervous. When Joey Wong's big, beautiful eyes looked at her, it was as if they were radiating electric waves.

Fang Yanmei clearly had no improper thoughts about Wang Zuxian; she was a staunchly honest woman.

But the thought that she might have uprooted Qin Weiming's budding love made Fang Yanmei feel guilty. He had even shared half of his mother with her, and she had lost the object of her passionate crush. No matter how she thought about it, she felt like she wasn't human.

"Okay, then I'll go put on a white shirt, and you go put on a white shirt too and show it to me." Wang Zuxian raised her eyebrows, with a hint of arrogance. She glanced at Qin Weiming from head to toe, full of interest, showing none of the dissatisfaction Fang Yanmei had expected.

Why is it so hard to guess what this little girl is thinking?

Fang Yanmei was a little confused; things had turned out completely differently than she had expected.

But even though Joey Wong changed her attitude, Fang Yanmei remained obedient. As long as Joey Wong was in a good mood, she would follow her arrangements.

"Is this the outfit?" Fang Yanmei asked Wang Zuxian earnestly, picking up the white shirt.

Wang Zuxian nodded, her eyes fixed on her white shirt. Her face was full of suspicion. This was such a simple, basic style, with almost nothing to it except for a waist-cinching design. Fang Yanmei had actually recommended this to her.

But when she went inside to change, Joey Wong couldn't help but recall how nervous Fang Yanmei had been, with her palms and back sweating profusely.

That was the first time she had ever seen Qin Weiming like this. He was usually so glib and charming in front of Wang Zuxian, which was one of the reasons why Wang Zuxian couldn't develop a real liking for him.

For some reason, Qin Weiming's effortless demeanor gave Wang Zuxian an uncomfortable feeling.

She always felt that Qin Weiming seemed to have a lot of experience, while she herself had never even been in a relationship.

A girl's instinctive wariness and defensiveness made Qin Weiming linger before Wang Zuxian's moat, but he was never able to get close to Wang Zuxian's heart.

However, Fang Yanmei's stammering and nervous demeanor this afternoon revealed a different side of Qin Weiming to Joey Wong.

It seems he wasn't that confident. When Qin Weiming took off that mask of ease, Wang Zuxian felt that he had become more approachable, unlike before when he always seemed to be separated by a layer.

"This guy, so he can be nervous and scared after all. Humph, make him change into that white shirt, then he'll know how ugly and boring it is. I'll give him a good scolding and make him say that I have no taste or aesthetic sense in choosing clothes." Wang Zuxian snorted to herself. She had already planned how to talk about Fang Yanmei after she got out, and then teach her a good lesson, maintaining her airs as a teacher.

White shirts are easy to change. When Wang Zuxian came out, she was a little dissatisfied, but when she came out, the saleswoman next to her was already smiling and welcoming her: "Beautiful lady, you look so good in this. Our store's classic white shirt is an imported design by a French designer. Look, it outlines your waistline so well... It looks so good, beautiful lady. Even if someone else wore it, it might not have such a good effect on you. It suits you so well."

The sales clerk's exaggerated words, tinged with genuine envy, made Wang Zuxian feel a little uncomfortable. She tucked her hair behind her ear and glanced at the crowd around her. For some reason, she felt that the store, which had been bustling with people just moments before, was now much less crowded.

"Thank you. Where's my friend? Have you seen him? A boy who's about my height." Joey Wong asked the sales clerk.

The saleswoman's eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but chuckle softly: "He's right over there. He changed his clothes over there, and all the girls in our store went to watch him."

"Huh?" Wang Zuxian was taken aback, and then a bad feeling rose in her heart. She immediately quickened her pace and jogged towards the place where the crowd was gathered.

"Make way, make way." Joey Wong pushed through the crowd, only to find that she was surrounded by girls. She was even more confused, wondering what was going on.

"Excuse me, could you let me through? My friend is waiting for me over there." Just then, she heard a familiar voice coming from the center of the crowd and immediately turned her head to look.

Another girl ran up to Fang Yanmei: "Handsome, can't you give us your contact information? Or where do you study? What if we're alumni?"

"Excuse me, I want to find my friend." Fang Yanmei was extremely puzzled. She didn't know what was going on. She had only changed her clothes and was surrounded by these girls after coming out.

This was the first time Fang Yanmei had been treated like this. If these were a group of men, Fang Yanmei could have easily dealt with them, but they were all girls who spoke softly and gently, which left Fang Yanmei at a loss for what to do.
