Chapter 11

"So...that sword can possess anyone who touches it?"

At the dinner table, after Ah-Zhui finished explaining the whole story, Yan fell silent.

"Yes, Sister Yan." A-Zhui nodded.

Yan's gaze shifted to the side.

Cang Yu was eating as if nothing was wrong, his chopsticks flying as he picked up food.

Well, I have to say, Ah Zhui's cooking skills are truly impeccable.

Cang Yu swallowed the food in his mouth, raised his head, and revealed a bright smile.

When Ah-Zhui saw that smile, her heart skipped a beat.

Oh no, Xiaoyu's expression is so irritating; she's probably about to start making people angry again.

Sure enough, Cang Yu shrugged, his tone almost too sincere:

"Our left-wing leader is joking. I'm just a little kid who only knows how to act recklessly because of Sister Zhui's doting. How could I think about such things?"

Yan's face stiffened slightly.

She could tell, of course, that Cang Yu was doing it on purpose.

Because she was unaware of the truth in the yard before and misunderstood his actions, this kid is now waiting for her here.

They returned the words exactly as they were spoken.

Yan had to admit that an eight-year-old child was indeed a bit too smart.

And... he's so petty.

But, who can blame her for being a beautiful and generous angel? She wouldn't stoop to the level of a child.

Yan put on a smile again and placed a piece of braised pork into Cang Yu's bowl.

"I was wrong, okay?" Her voice was deliberately soft and seductive.

"It's because your older sister didn't understand the situation and shouldn't have said that to you. But you can't blame your older sister entirely."

"If you suddenly hit my sister like that, of course she'd overthink it."

His tone was aggrieved, as if it were just a harmless little misunderstanding.

Ah Zhui, standing to the side, secretly gave Cang Yu a look; the meaning couldn't be clearer:

Xiaoyu, give your sister some face and don't hold it against Sister Yan.

pity.

Is Cang Yu such an obedient person?

"Wow." Cang Yu glanced down at the braised pork in the bowl, raised an eyebrow,

"Our left-wing leader is really generous, preparing such a lavish 'apology gift' for his apology."

Ah-Zhui's pupils trembled slightly: This is bad.

Yan's temper flared up as well.

You've already humbled yourself and apologized, why is this kid still holding a grudge?

He eats Ah-Zhui's food, lives in Ah-Zhui's house, and uses almost all of Ah-Zhui's things. Where does he get the confidence to be so arrogant?

Cang Yu wasn't finished yet. He picked up the braised pork again, examined it closely, and his face showed gratitude. His tone was so sincere it was almost exaggerated:

"And it's something made by someone else. Our Lord Yan is so 'generous'."

A clear "#" mark had appeared on Yan's forehead.

"Kid, you're quite the talker."

Cang Yu spread his hands innocently:

Did I say something wrong?

Was my attitude bad from the start?

Yan's expression froze for a moment.

"Am I allowed to touch someone else's things without their permission?"

Yan's eyes darted away guiltily.

"After I did something wrong, I just gave such a perfunctory apology, and it was even someone else's braised pork that I used—"

Cang Yu put down his chopsticks and sneered:

"Ha. You think you're fooling a child?"

A big question mark popped into Yan's mind.

Isn't that right? Aren't you just a child?

Of course, these words cannot be said directly.

Yan remained silent, pondering how to respond to this.

Cang Yu, however, ate the piece of braised pork in one bite, puffed out his cheeks twice, and swallowed it.

"For Sister Zhui's sake, I won't hold it against you."

Yan was stunned.

So you're the one who's magnanimous, and I'm the one who's petty?

Hey, this little brat

The worry on Ah-Zhui's face had disappeared, replaced by an expression of desperately trying to suppress laughter, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Sister Yan... was led by the nose by Xiaoyu.

Yan finally realized what was happening.

From beginning to end, this little rascal was deliberately teasing her, and she actually followed his rhythm seriously.

Was I tricked by an eight-year-old child?

Yan took a deep breath, his expression changing repeatedly before finally settling on a dangerous smile.

"Alright, little brat, I'll remember that."

She extended a slender finger and tapped Cang Yu's nose from a distance, her tone so gentle it was almost eerie:

"There's plenty of time, let's take our time and have some fun."

Cang Yu, without changing his expression, picked up another piece of braised pork and stuffed it into his mouth, replying indistinctly:

"I'm available anytime."

Ah-Zhui quickly stepped in to smooth things over, placing a piece of food into Yan's bowl:

"Alright, alright, Sister Yan, you should try it. This is a new dish I learned to make, and it tastes great."

Yan withdrew her gaze, picked up her chopsticks, took a bite, and her expression softened somewhat.

"Hmm, not bad."

She nodded, then changed the subject.

"But Ah Zhui, your skills have improved a lot. I've never seen you this diligent back in the Heavenly Court of Merlo."

Ah Zhui chuckled twice, her gaze unconsciously drifting towards Cang Yu:

"After I finished my patrol here, I figured I had nothing better to do, so I just thought I'd kill some time."

Yan noticed A-Zhui's little action and chuckled softly:

"Ha, killing time? I bet they're afraid this kid will starve to death!"

Ah Zhui smiled and did not deny it.

Cang Yu didn't say anything.

After the meal, A-Zhui volunteered to wash the dishes.

Only Cang Yu and Yan remained in the living room.

The TV was on, showing a news channel that Cang Yu had randomly selected, but neither of them paid any attention to it.

Yan leaned back on the sofa, legs crossed, her long legs almost blindingly white in the afternoon light.

She turned her head and looked at Cang Yu sitting at the other end.

"Little brat."

"Um?"

"I'm not a petty person."

Yan stretched out a finger and lazily shook it.

"I can grant you one request as compensation for your previous mistake. Of course, if your request is too unreasonable, then I can't help you."

She shrugged, giving off a "you figure it out" look.

Cang Yu raised an eyebrow.

"Fine, since you've put it that way—"

He deliberately drew out his words, making it seem like he was thinking seriously.

Yan rested her chin on her hand, staring intently at him, already wondering what request this little brat would make.

Do you want money? Or women?

Aren't most male creatures from pre-nuclear civilizations mostly focused on these two things?

Of course, considering that this little brat also has that strange magic sword hidden on him...

Yan's eyes flickered slightly. Could it be that they wanted super genes, or resources?

But well

The corners of her mouth curved slightly without making a sound. If you dare to ask for an exorbitant amount, don't blame me for being impolite.

Moreover, there's one thing she still doesn't understand.

That subtle, almost imperceptible attraction about this little kid—was it something he was born with, something he unintentionally exuded?

Or... was it released voluntarily?

If it's the former, then that's fine.

If it's the latter—

A dangerous glint flashed in Yan's eyes.

If you deliberately try to seduce Ah Zhui, your sister won't be lenient.

Cang Yu was still thinking and did not notice the change in Yan's eyes for a moment.

Ultimately, he has only just touched the threshold of "extraordinary," at most taking a couple of steps beyond the average person, and is far from possessing any keen insight.
