Upon hearing this, Taishang replied calmly, "In my humble opinion, the land of Beiju Luzhou is currently occupied by Zhao Gongming and should absolutely not be touched."

The Eastern Continent is mostly inhabited by elven cultivators, who belong to the Xuanmen (mystical sect) forces. Currently, the Xuanmen is in decline, but the Dao Ancestor is still there watching over them.

What remains is Jambudvipa (the southern continent).

You must understand how vast the Three Realms are. Even a single province is more than hundreds of millions of miles in size. A mere 100,000 miles is probably not even a drop in the ocean.

The situation in that vast area could only be described as desolate and uninhabited.

Even a single living being is rare, how can this humble monk preach the Way? Could it be that I should go and impart the Way to those flowers and plants?

Thinking of this, Zhunti immediately said, "Is a karmic debt of a sage only worth 100,000 miles?"

"This humble monk is not asking for too much today; I only wish to spread the Dharma throughout Jambudvipa and Purvavideha."

Of the four continents, Beiju Luzhou is currently occupied by Zhao Gongming, and Zhunti has no intention of provoking Zhao Gongming.

Simply spreading Buddhism throughout the three continents will bring enough good fortune for Buddhism to flourish.

However, upon hearing Zhunti's conditions, Taishang said without hesitation, "If you continue to speak such arrogant words, then please leave!"

Since the old Taoist has already fallen from his saintly position, it is normal that he cannot repay the karmic debts he incurred as a saint.

Or perhaps you, a Buddhist saint, had a battle with a Taoist saint, and this is how you divided the territory!

Did a Buddhist saint and a Taoist saint have a battle?

Although the two Western Saints don't want noodles when they come, they won't ask for trouble.

Putting everything else aside, the Zhuxian Sword Formation in the hands of the Tongtian Sect Leader alone is enough to give them a hard time.

He's not a masochist; he's just getting beaten up unilaterally.

Thinking of this, Zhunti spoke again: "This humble monk will not ask for more."

"This is the bottom line for our Buddhist sect, encompassing only one continent in Jambudvipa. If you still do not agree, then this humble monk has no choice but to comply!"

Zhunti had finally figured it out.

The Eastern Continent was the Xuanmen's private territory. They founded the Buddhist sect and betrayed the Xuanmen. The Dao Ancestor was magnanimous and let it go.

If we were to try to take over Dongsheng Shenzhou again, we would only be asking for trouble.

Moreover, the combined number of living beings in these two continents is probably less than half that of Jambudvipa.

The more living beings there are, the more astonishing the accumulated fortune will be.

However, how to transmit the method needs to be discussed.

After considering it in his mind, Taishang said, "If you want to spread Buddhism to Jambudvipa, that's fine, but you need to agree to a few conditions!"

First, the Dao should not be easily transmitted. When the Dao was preached in Zixiao Palace, the Dao Ancestor opened up the Dao field from the chaotic starry sky. Although it is said that those with affinity can hear the Dao.

However, only a Great Luo Golden Immortal could withstand such chaotic gales and reach the Zixiao Palace.

Although your Buddhist sect has betrayed the Taoist sect, these rules must not be broken, and the Buddhist teachings you transmit must have a fixed number!

"Fellow Daoist, if you have any other conditions, please state them all at once!"

The Supreme One continued, "Secondly, since the Buddhist teachings are being introduced to the people of Jambudvipa this time, those who go to obtain the teachings must also be of human status!"

Can your Buddhist sect agree to this?

Zhunti nodded in agreement, saying, "Our Buddhist sect agrees!"

"Thirdly, the number of scriptures to be taught also needs to be carefully considered!"

Nine is the ultimate number. In this world, the number of sages who have emerged, including the Dao Ancestor, is only seven!

The number seven and nine is the predetermined number of calamities.

In each calamity, the number of scriptures transmitted must not exceed this number!

Zhunti disagreed after hearing this.

The number seven and nine represents sixty-three calamities.

Each time a calamity occurs, only sixty-three volumes of scriptures are transmitted. Combined, the total number of scriptures transmitted is only three thousand six hundred and sixty-nine volumes.

How is that enough?

The Buddha's teachings are profound, and the scriptures within the Buddhist community are as vast as the sea of ​​stars, numbering far more than hundreds of thousands of volumes.

We still need to work on this matter; otherwise, if the transmission of scriptures is insufficient, the flourishing of Buddhism may leave hidden dangers.

So Zhunti immediately said, "Fellow Daoist, your words are nonsense!"

There should be nine saints in the sage position, but the remaining two have not yet attained enlightenment!

Therefore, the number of calamities must be extremely accurate and should be ninety-nine!

The number of scriptures transmitted must also be taken to this extreme number!

Taishang was not surprised to hear this; on the contrary, he felt that what Zhunti said made some sense.

Thinking of this, he simply said, "I will do as you say."

However, I will take 20% of the merit from this act.

I, a humble Taoist, would like to occupy the position of attendant to those who are on their journey to the West!

"But your Buddhist sect has set a number of calamities for this time. What happens if the calamities are not yet over?"

Upon hearing the conditions proposed by Taishang, Zhunti pondered for a moment.

This condition is not considered harsh.

After all, the spread of Buddhism to the East required a great deal of effort from this Supreme Sage, so it was only reasonable for him to take two-tenths of the merit as a reward.

As for the positions of the attendants, as long as the person on the pilgrimage is his Buddhist disciple, the rest are just minor details.

Compared to what he and Jieyin gained after overcoming the tribulation, it was nothing more than a drop in the ocean.

But what does the last sentence of the Supreme Lord mean?

What does it mean to not have survived the ordeal?

How is that possible?

These eighty-one tribulations were all arranged by the Buddhist community, so how could anything go wrong?
