Miss Witch is broke again.

Chapter 91 The Lives of the Little Demons

In the mountains, streets paved with bluestone stretch all the way up.

In the misty haze, groups of two or three pedestrians either stood with umbrellas, gazing at the distant scenery, or laughed and chatted with their companions about the mountain landscape.

In the architectural style of witch society, Zhen Dan witches have always preferred mountain and water scenery, especially the ancient Immortal Sect witches, who often build their sect buildings deep in the mountains.

In contrast, the demons and monsters in those folk tales hid the market in places rarely visited by people. In modern times, even the collapsed buildings of the immortal sects were transformed into the gates of the academy.

However, the demon market was thriving. The heritage was not only not destroyed, but it also developed with the help of the witch's power. Large and small demon markets were established on various witch islands.

It is said that some clever and resourceful demon witches have even opened demon markets in Europe and Latin America, giving those barbarians a real eye-opener and showing them what the cultural heritage of the Celestial Empire truly means.

The demon markets on Thunderclap Sky Island follow old customs, building their buildings deep in the mountains. In the past, there weren't many demonesses coming and going from Floating Cloud Ruins, so these mountain markets had a secluded, otherworldly feel.

However, this demon market became famous, and many foreign witches inevitably came here to take photos and commemorate the occasion, and also to buy some local specialties to take back to their sisters. As a result, the demon market began to become noisy and bustling.

Several little demons were carrying bags and suitcases, seemingly doing hard labor for a traveling witch from out of town.

The witch was tall and slender, with dazzling golden hair cascading down her back. Coupled with her sunny smile, she appeared very kind and cheerful.

Busy taking photos, the blonde witch didn't pay much attention to the little demons' laziness and slackness. She was taking a commemorative photo with a peace sign under a cloud-shrouded pine tree beside the bluestone path.

The cloud-mist pines droop with wisps of white mist, and the entire route and forests are filled with these ancient trees from China, which in turn shroud most of the buildings in the demon market in the deep forests. Even though the blonde witch who came here for tourism had been walking for half a day, she still couldn't reach the main gate of the demon market.

The little demons were slacking off, but they still had some professional spirit. Even though they were carrying the blonde witch's luggage backpack, they didn't give up.

A docile yellow dog spirit, seemingly obedient, suddenly sat down on a bluestone, panting with its tongue lolling out, when it noticed that the blonde witch's attention was still on taking pictures.

The yellow dog looked very tired, panting heavily.

"Woof woof woof, big brother, where's your wine? Want a few sips? I'm dying of thirst."

The yellow dog spirit couldn't wait to ask the leader for some drinks. After all, the little demons were not like witches, and besides, they had been carrying the golden-haired witch's luggage. They were indeed thirsty after running all this way.

Leading the pack was a tall, black greyhound that stood upright. Although the greyhound appeared to be thin, it carried a load of luggage on its back that was several times heavier than that of the other little demons.

"Drink less. You've done nothing wrong and you're already making a fuss. Be careful the witch doesn't get in a bad mood and deducts our wages."

Although the greyhound seemed to be scolding the yellow dog, it was actually just talking fiercely. While scolding, it took out a wine gourd from its waist, took a small sip for itself, and then tossed it to the yellow dog.

The yellow dog spirit quickly caught it, but although it was burly, it was not very strong. When it caught the wine gourd, it almost threw the thing off its back because of the large movement.

Fortunately, the little demons had too much experience doing hard labor, and the yellow dog spirit managed to steady itself after a few shaky moments.

"I was terrified! If I had broken the witch's things, I would never be able to get married or have children in my life."

The yellow dog spirit was a little scared. Everyone knew that witches were known for their fickle personalities and petty nature. Although the Zhen Dan demon race was protected by law, the compensation required for breaking things was something that these little demons could not afford.

The greyhound glared at the yellow dog with annoyance, while the yellow dog chuckled awkwardly, revealing a mouthful of snow-white canine teeth, appearing very respectful and ingratiating.

"Don't worry, brother, you're not hurt, are you?"

The yellow dog spirit smiled ingratiatingly, and seeing that the greyhound had stopped scolding him, he carefully uncorked the gourd and then tilted his head back to drink a large gulp of wine.

"You blockhead, drink less, the other brothers are waiting."

If the blonde witch hadn't been taking pictures under the tree, and the greyhound hadn't wanted to disturb her, it would have already snatched the gourd from her.

The yellow dog spirit gave an awkward smile and quickly handed the wine gourd to the other lesser demons.

The other little demon was a rooster spirit. Unlike the two dog demons, this rooster looked quite human, with its rooster claws covered by overalls. Its large red comb, somehow created by magic, was split in the middle, making it look very handsome.

"You damn yellow dog, you're tired after just a few steps. You're not good at working, but you're good at drinking. I've been playing ball in the Demon City for two and a half years. What's a little bit of carrying around?"

The rooster seemed to look down on the yellow dog, but it quickly accepted the gourd of wine offered to it, gulping it down its neck in no time.

"Brother, this wine is quite good, almost comparable to the witches' drinks, but it's a bit weak."

The rooster took a few sips and then wisely returned the gourd to the greyhound. However, judging from the greyhound's lingering relish, the wine inside was quite delicious.

The greyhound took the gourd of wine and put it back on its waist. It didn't use it to quench its thirst. After all, with its strength, it had only walked such a short distance and didn't feel tired at all.

"It's the witch's wine, but we've added some water."

The greyhound offered a casual explanation without elaborating, because the blonde witch had already finished taking photos, and with the witch's multi-threaded thinking ability, she had seen all the little demons' actions and conversations.

"What kind of wine are you drinking? I've heard that the witch sisters of Floating Cloud Ruins are skilled at brewing wine. I'd like to see for myself."

The blonde witch hopped and skipped, appearing quite curious.

Although the blonde witch looks and acts very friendly, to the little demons, a witch is a witch and must be treated with the utmost respect.

"My lady, that's Green Leaf Wine, but it's the cheapest wine in Floating Cloud Market. It's the only wine we can afford."

The greyhound answered very carefully, while the blonde witch simply said "oh" and didn't ask any more questions.

After all, what could those little demons possibly know?

The blonde witch asked casually, and then continued walking along the bluestone street into the deep mountains. However, through the hazy mist, one could see large characters written on the tall stone gate in the distance.

Sanci Demon City - North Gate

Upon seeing the stone gate, the greyhound couldn't help but grin. Finally, they were about to reach the demon market. After settling the deal with this witch, it could lead its brothers to the demon market to find work.

The Demon Market is short of people right now. These foreign witches are extremely generous with novelties, buying them with a wave of their hand.

Shops of all sizes are busy hiring people, especially small businesses like theirs. During this league season, as long as they work hard, they can save enough money to get married and build a house.

The yellow dog spirit was overjoyed to see the stone gate; finally, it could rest. It would treat itself well with its wages. After all, the widowed white dog on West Street was a breed left behind by a Western witch, far more unrestrained than its Aurora ancestor.

The yellow dog was still grinning lecherously when a mischievous cat tail popped out of the mist.

It was an adorable calico cat, with two elegant women behind it. The calico cat looked surprised, as if it recognized the yellow dog and his group of little demons.

"Hey, isn't this the Three Flower Sister from the Earth God Temple?"

The greyhound saw the calico cat and went up to greet it, as if they were old acquaintances.

The calico cat responded, puzzled:

"How come Brother Greyhound from Erlang Temple has time to come to the Demon Market? My sister-in-law is three months pregnant and about to give birth. She should be taken care of."

The greyhound rubbed its paws together, glanced back at the blonde witch, and replied:

"Now that the puppies are about to be born, we need to make more money."

The calico cat understood immediately, while the greyhound watched as the two girls behind it gradually emerged from the mist. Then it saw a naturally alluring yet innocent-looking fox spirit witch curiously watching them.

"Wow, the little demons seem to have such rich lives."
