A certain Hogwarts professor of runes
Chapter 60 Ron's Adventure
Meanwhile, Ron, Hermione, and Justin each searched for the professor's whereabouts. After seven o'clock, the young wizards returned to their respective house's common room under the guidance of their prefects, leaving the entire castle empty.
A few minutes later, Ron first encountered a professor. He ran over excitedly, then his face fell in despair—it was Lockhart.
Lockhart was also on patrol today.
"Ha! Look what I caught! A little wizard out at night, daring to break the rules! What's your name again?" Lockhart's face lit up with surprise. He stepped forward and grabbed Ron's arm. "Come on, kid. You're supposed to be a Gryffindor? Professor McGonagall won't be happy... Anyway, come back to my office with me."
"No! Let me go! Harry is in danger! We've encountered the Basilisk!" Ron struggled to break free of his grip.
"A basilisk?"
"The monster in the secret room!" Ron roared, furious.
"The Chamber of Secrets... the Basilisk..." Lockhart tensed up, pulling a magenta handkerchief from his pocket with his other hand to wipe the sweat from his brow. "What are you talking about? Don't expect to fool me with lies..."
"I'm not lying!" Ron was furious. He shoved Lockhart hard and pulled a wand from Lockhart's breast pocket.
"Hey!" Lockhart fell to the ground. "My wand!"
The noise from their argument soon attracted another free spirit in the castle—Peeves. He passed through a wall and witnessed Ron and Lockhart tearing at each other.
"Students and professors are fighting! Students and professors are fighting!" Pipi shouted gleefully.
"Clang, clang." Filch's footsteps came from afar.
Ron ran off without looking back, and in his panic, he found himself in a familiar corridor.
The girls' washroom at Myrtle House—where they used to brew compound decoctions for a time, although they have now moved to an abandoned classroom in the basement.
Ron swallowed hard and carefully turned the doorknob of the bathroom.
Having learned from the experience of the Myrtle Queen, he was terrified that he would open the door and see a pair of big yellow eyes.
Ron pushed open the door with his eyes closed. "Is anyone home, Harry?"
"He's not here. Oh, the poor thing!" a strange voice said. Ron recognized it as Myrtle's voice and opened his eyes.
A silver, transparent ghost floated in mid-air.
"Harry was here, where is he?" Ron wanted to ask for more details, but the sight before him made his eyes widen. One of the sinks in the center of the bathroom had vanished into thin air, replaced by a deep black hole.
He stepped forward, glanced disdainfully at the bottomless, filthy pipe, and asked, "Myrtle, Harry jumped in?"
"Yes, it was so sudden. I was just about to talk to him..." Myrtle said in a rather mournful tone, "His things are still there!"
Ron then noticed that Harry's schoolbag was piled crookedly on the floor under one of the sinks.
"Oh, Merlin!" Ron prayed in his heart as he opened Harry's schoolbag—a magical puppet with ice-blue hair lay quietly inside.
Ron let out a wail.
"What's wrong?" Myrtle floated to his side and looked at the contents of his bag with him. Pointing with interest at the magical puppet, she asked, "What's this? A new kind of doll in the castle?"
"Harry is in danger..." Ron muttered under his breath.
"What?"
"I said, Harry is in danger!" Ron took a deep breath, grabbed the magical puppet, and strode to the entrance of the Chamber of Secrets.
A few seconds later, he turned to Myrtle and said pitifully, "Could you give me a push?"
Before she could reply, Ron jumped in as if his life depended on it.
"Aaaaaah!" His exaggerated scream came from the water pipe.
Meanwhile, Justin found Professor Snape, and almost at the same time, Hermione found Professor Hyp.
When Felix and Hermione arrived at the girls' bathroom, they saw Peeves chasing after a crying Moghan with a box of rotten bread.
What's going on?
"A shot to the stomach gets you 10 points! A shot to the head gets you 50 points! Very good, haha, haha!"
The small washroom was filled with the laughter of Pippi the Ghost and the weeping of Myrtle.
"Oh my God, poor Myrtle, stop hitting him!" Hermione watched this scene sadly.
Felix waved his wand, freezing the flying bread in mid-air.
Pipi Ghost then noticed the two people who had just entered. "Professor, hello," he said, adjusting his hat.
"Petty, get out of here," Felix said calmly.
"As you wish." The figure of the mischievous ghost disappeared.
"Professor, look!" Hermione said, pointing to the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.
"I saw it." Felix turned to ask the other person in the room, "Morington, did Harry jump?"
Silver tears streamed down Myrtle's face, but she still answered, "Yes, and there was a red-haired boy with many freckles on his face."
"It's Ron!" Hermione exclaimed.
"It's him! Aren't the three of you still here—"
"Shut up, Myrtle!" Hermione quickly stopped her, not wanting Professor Hyp to discover their secret of brewing Polyjuice Potion. She then glanced cautiously at Felix.
With a sob, Myrtle flew swiftly into the innermost compartment and never came out again.
The little witch felt a little ashamed, and she apologized to the poor ghost in her heart.
Just then, a clear chirping sound rang out. Felix looked in the direction of the sound and saw Dumbledore suddenly appear. He was wearing a gray nightgown with a polka dot pattern, and his long beard was disheveled—he usually tied it up.
Apparition, or...? Felix's gaze fell on the phoenix on his shoulder.
It was a rather strange scene; a silver, transparent phoenix perched on Dumbledore's shoulder, like a guardian deity.
No, it's a guardian deity!
However, inside the silver, transparent guardian, there was a tiny bird, no bigger than the palm of your hand.
This is the true phoenix...
"Fox has only recently been reborn, and its power is too weak. I had to use the Patronus to protect it," Dumbledore explained.
So, is it that the young phoenix is wearing the coat of a phoenix guardian deity?
Felix nodded. "Headmaster Dumbledore, Potter, Weasley, and Granger found the Basilisk attacking in the corridor. They rescued Justin, and then Potter volunteered to guard the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets while the other three sought the professor's help."
"However, for some reason, Potter and Weasley went down one after the other."
"At present, it is unclear whether they are in danger."
"Very good, Felix." Dumbledore fell into thought, but after a few seconds, he looked up at Fawkes on his shoulder and said, "Fawkes, thank you for your hard work."
The little phoenix, draped in a silver coat (the same model as Gundam), let out a low cry.
"Remember, the basilisk's greatest threat is its eyes."
