Naruto: This Uchiha is too innocent.

Chapter 16 Joining the Dark Side

Seeing the veins bulging on Uchiha Sora's face, Minato felt a pang of unease.

Don't they care about the villagers?

He carefully observed Uchiha Sora's expression. The latter's face was calm and still, without the slightest ripple. This showed that he truly didn't care, and there was no emotional fluctuation whatsoever.

Minato suddenly felt a throbbing pain in his temples.

Not caring about others is a good thing; it means that this person has the potential to achieve great things in the future.

But this is also a bad thing, because it means that Uchiha Sora has no sense of belonging to Konoha, his heart is not in Konoha, and naturally he does not care about what the people of Konoha say or do.

These people... have a unique name: "traitorous ninja infiltrators".

There are generally two types of rogue ninja from ninja villages. One type cares too much about the village, so when the village isn't as wonderful as they imagined, they become rogue ninjas like shattered glass.

Another type is people like Uchiha Sora who have no affiliation with the village. These people are more complicated, and no one knows when they might suddenly decide to join an enemy ninja village.

Minato opened his mouth, as if to say something, but the undisguised disgust the villagers had shown towards the Uchiha clan immediately flashed through his mind.

He fell silent; he... had no reason to persuade Uchiha Sora.

"Teacher, don't worry, just because I don't care about them doesn't mean there aren't people in the village I care about." Uchiha Sora instead comforted Minato.

Minato was taken aback, then thought to himself, "That makes sense. Before, the Uchiha clan belonged to Konoha, so Sora's roots have always been in Konoha."

"By the way, teacher, is there something you wanted to see me about?" Uchiha Sora asked.

He felt that Minato wouldn't just want to check on his training, so he specifically sought him out.

Upon hearing Uchiha Sora's words, Minato slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "Oh right, look at me, I forgot about the important matter!"

"Kong, you're still in a solo squad, right?"

"Yes." Uchiha Sora nodded.

"That's right. According to the regulations, Chunin must be in groups of three or more to carry out a mission. Just now, I've roughly figured out your strength."

Now, you have three choices.

First, I will temporarily join Team 7 and work with Kakashi and the others on missions.

"Next," Uchiha Sora said directly. Temporarily joining Team 7?

Perhaps it's not bad, this way he can keep track of the situation in Class 7 at all times and can minimize the risk of Rin's death.

However, there is a major limitation to joining Class 7: freedom. If he agrees, it means that he will be in Class 7 for a long time and will not have time to go anywhere else.

This is something he absolutely cannot accept.

Minato choked a little, feeling somewhat annoyed. He wondered if Class 7 was really that bad. He hadn't even finished speaking before being rejected, and thinking about it, he felt a bit frustrated.

However, he quickly adjusted his mood.

"Secondly, protect the daimyo of the Land of Fire from being assassinated by enemy assassins."

Konoha Village is a village in the Land of Fire, so the safety of the daimyo is naturally of utmost importance. If the daimyo were to die, the morale of the army would likely collapse.

"Next," Uchiha Sora said calmly. Protect the Daimyo?

Heh, he's not that idle. In his eyes, Da Ming is just a bunch of fictitious, useless people who call themselves "boss".

Minato wasn't surprised at all and continued:

"Then you only have one choice: join the Dark Division and carry out missions in secret."

[Thump—]

[Post a task]

[Note: This is a series of quests]

[Mission Objective 1: Join the Dark Side]

[Reward: Unknown]

Good heavens, it's finally the system that's moving after more than ten chapters!

Uchiha Sora silently made a few complaints, then became interested. The series of missions, as the name suggests, was not a single mission, but a series of missions.

Just like the last exam for everyone, the first stage was the written test, and the second stage was the martial arts test.

Does the host accept this?

[Agree/Disagree]

Agreed, of course I agree. The rewards from the series of quests are much better than those from regular quests. Most of his spirit mediums and secret scrolls were obtained from the series of quests.

Moreover, as Minato just said, he had three options. He rejected the first two, but he would agree to join the Dark Side even without the system.

After all, everyone is now a soldier, not to mention he was the top scorer in this Chunin Exams. If he refuses to participate,

Heh, now the Konoha higher-ups have a reason to take action against the Uchiha.

"I'm joining the Anbu." Uchiha Sora silently told the system that he agreed, then looked up at Minato and said.

Minato nodded, not surprised. Originally, according to his plan, Uchiha Sora had to choose between joining Team 7 and joining the Anbu. Since joining Team 7 was rejected, joining the Anbu was the only option left.

As for protecting the daimyo?

The Uchiha clan has never done this before; they are far too arrogant.

"Okay, I understand. I'll mention it to the Third Hokage." Minato Namikaze nodded.

"Wait? Minato-sensei, you mean it was your idea for me to join the Anbu?" Uchiha Sora blinked.

"Uh, yes, I just returned to Konoha today and haven't met the Third Hokage yet. I just happened to see you at the training ground and decided on the spot. But while it was on the spot, it was also inevitable, since you only had these few options."

Uchiha Sora understood.

So that's how it is. He had been wondering about this all along. He was wondering why the Konoha higher-ups had just given him a hard time, and then suddenly invited him to join the Anbu.

It turns out that Minato was unaware that he had not received any notification.

In this light, Minato actually helped him out. If Minato hadn't mentioned it, he felt that the Third Hokage definitely wouldn't have let him join the Anbu so easily.

Perhaps by then, the choice given to him won't be one of three, but only one: to protect the daimyo.

"Well, it's getting late. I still need to give Kakashi and the others special training. Sora, you should go back first. Anbu members should be looking for you in a few days." Minato glanced out the window and then said to Uchiha Sora.

"Hmm." Uchiha Sora nodded slightly, then opened the door, intending to leave.

"Wait," Minato suddenly remembered something and called out to him.

He turned around, his eyes indicating that he had anything else to say.

Minato scratched his head, seemingly a little embarrassed. "Well... how should I put it, haha..."

Uchiha Sora's gaze grew increasingly strange. This guy was acting all coy at this moment. Young Minato's personality wasn't as composed as it had been after he became Hokage.

"Ahem, Sora, although I don't know how others in the village see you, Kushina and I care about you a lot," Minato said earnestly.

Uchiha Sora fell silent for a moment.

How long does it take to build a friendship?

He doesn't know about others.

However, he and Minato only took three days.

For the first three days, Minato both loved and hated him. He loved him because of his exceptional talent in using kunai, which Minato was very satisfied with.

He hated it because he was utterly useless. Minato planned to teach him the Rasengan, but... he learned nothing. He couldn't even compress his chakra into a ball.

Meeting Minato's earnest gaze, Uchiha Sora turned his head away.

He thought to himself, "No wonder this guy is always taking care of girls; he's so serious about even his three-day apprentice's child."

"Ugh, so cheesy," he muttered.

"Hehe." Minato chuckled, reaching out to ruffle his hair. "I always feel like you're the same age as me, and subconsciously, I start acting awkward."
