One Piece: Honey Badger Speedruns the World

Chapter 24 Even if Zou is destroyed

"Smack."

An exaggeratedly large hand slapped Goss on the shoulder.

Roddy stepped forward, his usually playful bull-like eyes now unusually serious.

He no longer regarded Goss as a promising junior, but as an equal fighter.

"It seems Commander Pedro was right; you were indeed born for battle."

Roddy glanced at Goss's undamaged arm and said in a deep voice, "Since your body is so tough that even broken bones can regenerate instantly, then I won't hold back anymore."

As he spoke, Roddy pointed to the two sharp, curved bull horns on the top of his head, with blue and white arcs of electricity leaping at their tips.

"Goss, do you know how the horned mink tribe uses their advantages?"

Goss shook his head and listened attentively.

"Because 'horns' are the hardest and shortest weapons on the body."

Roddy adopted a charging stance with his head down, his muscles taut like iron: "When both sides are entangled and unable to use their fists and feet freely, the 'corner' is the key to life and death."

By compressing all his strength, domineering aura, and even static electricity into this single point and unleashing it, he could instantly pierce through the enemy's heart.

"Even though you're a honey badger, you don't have horns."

Roddy reached out and tapped Goss on the forehead with a dull thud, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes.

"But I've heard that honey badgers have skulls that are three times harder than those of ordinary fur-bearing creatures, and that your neck muscles are also frighteningly developed."

"Treat your head like your horns."

Roddy's aura suddenly changed, and a violent current instantly gathered on his forehead:

"Watch closely, Goss! This is a technique that the Horned Mink Tribe learns from childhood—how to release all the kinetic energy and static electricity from the entire body through the head in an instant!"

"At this distance, no one can dodge this attack!"

"As a member of the Black Mountain Sheep-Farming Tribe, once you understand this tactic well enough, Modi can't pose a threat to you!"

"Come on! Bang your head against this! Feel the static electricity vibrating inside your skull!"

"Bang!"

A dull thud.

Roddy didn't use his full strength; he simply lowered his head slightly and nudged the bull with his electric-covered horns.

Goss felt as if he had been struck by lightning, his whole body going numb.

"See that? It's not the momentum from shaking your head, but the instantaneous burst of energy from your neck muscles."

Roddy pointed to his neck, where the muscles were twisted together like steel cables.

"For our horned race, the cervical spine is the best spring. Compressing static electricity in the forehead and releasing it at the moment of contact is both a physical strike and an electric shock."

"Even if your hands and feet are bound, as long as your head can still move, that's your trump card for turning the tide."

Goss touched his forehead, imagining that he also had two horns.

"Should we concentrate the static electricity...on this bone?"

Goss took a deep breath and began trying to activate the electrical current within his body.

A faint blue arc of electricity danced in his silver hair, trying to converge on his forehead, but it always dissipated before it could take shape.

"Don't rush."

Roddy stood by, giving instructions, his arms crossed.

"Controlling static electricity is a delicate skill. When I was a child, it took me three whole months, with the help of static electricity training equipment, to practice this skill so that my forehead wouldn't get burned by my own electricity..."

"Bulu Bulu Bulu..."

Just as Roddy was getting into the conversation, Pedro's Den Den Mushi suddenly rang urgently.

After a brief exchange, Pedro's expression changed slightly.

"Smack."

Without saying a word, he slammed the microphone down.

"Boss Cat Viper has summoned us urgently. Roddy, Black Buck, let's go right away."

"Now? I haven't finished teaching yet..." Roddy hesitated.

"It's too late."

Pedro interrupted him, then pointed to a row of shelves on one side of the training field and quickly instructed Goss, "Goss, we have to leave for a bit. You stay here and practice by yourself."

"The shelves over there hold tools to help train static electricity."

These are all assistive devices that trigger your body's static electricity through electric shocks. The forms and energy levels of the shocks differ, so choose the one that suits you.

Roddy quickly added, "Yes, practice on that wooden stake first, don't try to do too much at once."

After saying that, the three of them flashed and quickly disappeared into the shadows of the forest.

……

Whoosh!Whoosh!Whoosh!

On the forest path, three figures darted like arrows, weaving through the massive tree trunks at high speed, creating a gust of wind.

The atmosphere was so oppressive it was suffocating.

"Commander, why the rush to summon them..."

The massive Black Buck leaped among the treetops as he asked in a deep voice, a hint of disbelief in his tone, "Could it be because of... Lord Raizo?"

Pedro charged ahead without turning his head; his voice, though torn apart by the oncoming wind, remained icy cold:

"That's right. According to Modi, who returned from the New World, the Beasts Pirates have begun searching for Lord Raizo's whereabouts."

Upon hearing those two words, Buffalo Roddy, who was following closely behind, stumbled and nearly broke a tree branch: "The Beasts Pirates?! Kaido, one of the Four Emperors?"

Roddy's eyes widened, and he gasped for breath: "But... how is this possible?"

Zou is a living giant elephant that has been moving on the sea for a thousand years and has no fixed magnetic record!

Even the Four Emperors couldn't possibly find us like searching for a needle in a haystack, could they?

Nothing is impossible.

Pedro abruptly ducked, avoiding a sprawling vine, a deep worry flashing in his eyes:

"The Four Emperors are the rulers of this sea. Moreover, there are quite a few Mink who possess the means to find Zou."

The real problem is that they simply couldn't have known that Lord Raizo was hiding in Zou.

"If they really do know Lord Raizo's location..."

He paused, his tone becoming incredibly resolute:

"No matter who comes, even if it's one of the Four Emperors himself, we absolutely cannot hand over Lord Raizo. This is a vow between the Kozuki family and the Mink Clan."

"Even if Zou is destroyed?" Blackbuck asked.

"Even if Zou is destroyed," Pedro said firmly.

A silence fell between the three of them. They all knew the weight of those words.

If it were truly the Four Emperors attacking, it would be an absolute catastrophe for Zou, which has enjoyed peace for so long.

Under immense pressure regarding the survival of their race, all three were on edge, their minds racing with scenarios of the impending war.

until--

Roddy, who was running in the middle, suddenly stopped abruptly, his hooves leaving two deep furrows in the ground.

"broken!!"

The scream was so sudden that it startled Pedro, who was preoccupied with the possibility of death.

"The enemy has broken in?!"

Black Buck instantly assumed a fighting stance.

"No...no..."

Roddy was covered in cold sweat. He had just been worried about the Four Emperors' faces, but now they were contorted by another trivial matter.

"Did I... forget to put that thing in the very corner of the shelf away?"
