Chapter 79 The Buddhist Kingdom Holds Profound Secrets, Understanding Cause and Effect in a Single T

Upon hearing this, the blue ox grinned, revealing a set of neat white teeth, and said leisurely:

"Monkey, it's true that you're 108,000 miles away."

But they had already laid down the Nine Netherworld Bewitching Array halfway there, reversing the five elements and confusing yin and yang.

You wandered around in that fog for a long time, and all the demons and monsters you fought were just illusions within the formation.

Do you really think you've fought your way through the eighteen levels of hell?

Sun Wukong's golden eyes flashed, and his anger intensified.

Boom!

The golden cudgel slammed down on the ground, causing the entire Netherworld Palace to shake once more.

"You bastard Ksitigarbha! You openly want to take my brother, but secretly you're trying to trip me up!"

You call yourself a bodhisattva, always talking about compassion, yet you do such despicable things!

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva remained expressionless, standing serenely in the hall, his body radiating a clear Buddhist light.

Within the Buddha's palm, the world within swirls and flows, while Li Yan sits motionless within.

His voice was booming, yet it also conveyed compassion:

"Sun Wukong, you were born of heaven and earth, with deep spiritual roots, and you were destined for great fortune."

How can you be so ignorant of fate? This humble monk is here on the orders of the Dharma to invite someone; what business is it of yours?

You have trespassed into the netherworld and shattered the illusion of this humble monk's protection, thus creating karmic obstacles. Do you still not realize your mistake?

"Pooh!"

Sun Wukong spat, and golden light burst forth from his eyes.

"I, Old Sun, don't care about the number of days or anything, you can't arrest my brother!"

"Release them immediately, or I, Old Sun, will tear down your Netherworld Palace and upside down your Nine Nether Realms today!"

Having said that, he brandished his golden cudgel and was about to attack again.

The blue ox, however, strolled forward leisurely.

The enormous bull's head shook:

"Monkey, you really can't change your temper."

The Bodhisattva is holding your brother in her hand; if you strike with that stick...

"If their hand slips, your brother won't be having a good time in the Buddhist realm."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong paused, glaring angrily at Ksitigarbha, but he couldn't actually make a move.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva looked at the blue ox, a trace of solemnity flashing in his eyes:

"Azure Rhinoceros, why aren't you enjoying blessings in the Tushita Palace? What are you doing in my Netherworld?"

The blue ox chewed on a kumquat, its large, bell-like eyes narrowing into slits.

"I, Old Niu, have nothing to do, so I wander around."

I just happened to stumble upon your Nine Netherworld Bewitching Array trapping people, and I couldn't resist the urge to come in and take a look.

"What's wrong, Ksitigarbha? Can't I, the old ox, come?"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva remained silent for a moment, then slowly said:

"Since it is a leisurely stroll, this humble monk is naturally pleased to welcome you."

However, this humble monk has important matters to attend to at the moment and is unable to entertain you. Qingsi, if you have nothing else to do, please make yourself at home.”

The blue ox, however, did not move an inch. Instead, it lay down on the spot, its massive body blocking the entrance to the palace, and slowly said:

"No rush, no rush. I find this excitement quite interesting and want to watch it a little longer."

You guys keep talking, just pretend I don't exist.

It says it's as if it doesn't exist,

But when that enormous body lay there, and that faint yet powerful aura emanated from it, who could truly believe it didn't exist?

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva frowned slightly, but there was nothing he could do.

This blue ox appears to be nothing more than a mount.

In reality, it was a primordial divine beast that had gained sentience in the Tushita Palace, and had been by that person's side for countless eons.

His cultivation level is unfathomable; even at his peak, he wouldn't dare say he could win with certainty.

The scene froze for a moment.

Sun Wukong glared at Ksitigarbha, gripping his golden cudgel tightly, yet he hesitated to act rashly for fear of harming the innocent.

The blue ox lay leisurely at the palace gate, as if it were just watching the excitement.

The Ten Kings of Hell stood trembling to one side.

Venus held a whisk, his gaze sometimes sweeping towards the Buddha Kingdom in Ksitigarbha's palm, and sometimes looking towards the void outside the hall.

Although the Buddhist kingdom was isolated from the outside world, it was not completely closed off.

Therefore, everything around him, faintly and intermittently, entered Li Yan's mind.

But he didn't open his eyes.

At this moment, Li Yan was immersed in enlightenment.

This Buddha-land in the palm of your hand is truly wondrous.

Upon entering, Li Yan felt as if it were a small world refined by Buddhism.

Although exquisite and complete, it is nothing special.

But when he calmed down and observed carefully with the eye of cause and effect,

It was secretly confirmed by the Dao of the Grotto Heaven.

But they gradually discovered that the mysteries of this Buddhist kingdom were far more complex than simply containing Mount Sumeru in a mustard seed.

In the Buddhist realm, Buddhist teachings and Zen wisdom are everywhere.

The golden sky is the manifestation of the light of great compassion.

The drifting clouds are the condensation of supreme aspirations.

The seven precious leaves are each engraved with scriptures.

The precious leaves sway in the wind, as if millions of Buddhist disciples are chanting scriptures at the same time.

As for the Eight Virtues Water, a single drop reflects a pure land.

The shimmering light is the simultaneous manifestation of the three thousand worlds.

And the distant phantom of the Buddha was endless and boundless.

A phantom image represents a cause and effect.

Li Yan became increasingly alarmed as he realized this.

How can this be considered a cage that confines people?

It is clearly a treasure trove of Buddhist teachings!

If he can fully comprehend its mysteries, it will be an immeasurable resource for his future cultivation.

Li Yan started with the basics.

What is the foundation of the Buddhist kingdom?

Buddhism? Vows? Or compassion?

Li Yan pondered these things carefully and gradually realized that they were all correct, yet none of them were entirely correct.

In this Buddhist realm, Buddhist teachings, vows, and compassion are all mere appearances.

The true foundation supporting this Buddhist kingdom lies in a single thought deep within it.

That thought was the same thought that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had when he opened up this country.

His thoughts contain his wishes, laws, and principles.

Therefore, that single thought is the origin of this Buddhist kingdom.

Therefore, that single thought is the origin of this Buddhist kingdom.

Li Yan followed the cause-and-effect line.

Among the countless threads of cause and effect, there was a golden thread that appeared and disappeared, yet it pierced through the entire Buddhist kingdom.

The other end of that line connects to the depths of the Buddhist realm, to that unknowable place.

There, a figure sat upright.

The figure was bathed in Buddhist light, with a compassionate face and profound eyes, just like Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

It is a manifestation of a single thought.

As Li Yan gazed at that figure, a thought arose in his mind.

If one could see that thought and converse with it, would one be able to comprehend the true meaning of this Buddhist realm?

If one can understand the true meaning of this Buddhist kingdom, perhaps one can find a way to escape.

As he pondered, his mind followed the golden thread, probing into the depths of that Buddhist kingdom.

The golden threads are endless, the Buddhist realm is boundless.

Li Yan's mind drifted on the golden thread, as if experiencing endless reincarnation.

Sometimes they find themselves in the midst of hellish torment, enduring the agony of being in a mountain of knives and a sea of fire.

Occasionally, they wander in the realm of hungry ghosts, suffering from the torment of hunger and thirst.

Sometimes they transform into the five domestic animals, suffering from that foolishness.

Li Yan was in a daze, almost forgetting who he was, where he came from, and where he was going.

But at every crucial moment, the [Guicang] tortoise shell in the Niwan Palace will tremble.

A wisp of chaotic light surged forth, illuminating his mind and instantly clearing his head.

This went on for an unknown period of time.

Suddenly.

Li Yan found himself in a golden void.

A figure sat there.

That figure was none other than the thought of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The figure looked at him, a strange glint in its eyes.

"How did you manage to find your way here?"

Li Yan nodded slightly.

"It comes from cause and effect."

The figure remained silent for a moment, then slowly said:

"The principle of cause and effect is the essence of Buddhism."

"You were able to find this thought of mine through the law of cause and effect, which shows that you have already attained some understanding of the way of cause and effect."

Li Yan said, "Bodhisattva, you flatter me. I am merely basking in your glory."

The figure smiled slightly.

"You're quite modest."

Li Yan asked, "This humble Taoist may venture to ask the Bodhisattva, what is the origin of this thought?"

The figure said, "This humble monk made a great vow back then: I will not become a Buddha until hell is emptied."

Once this wish was made, this thought came to be.

This single thought is both the beginning and the end of that grand aspiration.

"I see."

The figure said slowly, "You were able to find this place, which shows that you have a connection with Buddhism."

Why not stay and listen to this humble monk explain the principles of cause and effect?
