Full-time Creation Master

Chapter 208 White Town Plague Lockdown and Jumping Over the Wall

..........

Normally, security in White Town isn't too tight. It could even be considered a black market uncontrolled by any single power. Whether it's treasures acquired by hunter mages or personal gains by the military, they're mostly traded here...

But today...

"What's going on? Are we checking everyone one by one?" Mo Fan asked, puzzled, as he stood in the line to enter the town.

Looking at the blockade line formed by military mages, white-clad angel ladies, and people with red badges on their sleeves, Mo Fan wanted to run away with Tang Yue!

"Young man, you don't know this, but recently a plague has been spreading very rapidly!"

"Many people in White Town have already been quarantined, and now everyone entering the town is being checked to see if they are carrying this plague," said a dark-skinned hunter-like man standing nearby.

"Oh, oh, I thought something big had happened." Mo Fan breathed a sigh of relief.

Mo Fan didn't care about the plague at all!

As long as you don't get discovered yourself, you can capture the Black Serpent!

Since awakening the Demon type, those poisons and such have never appeared again!

Their escape with the totem snake was merely an act of defiance against Councilor Zhu Meng, a vague charge. It shouldn't be so exaggerated as to warrant setting up checkpoints at every major transportation hub. Moreover, Bai Town doesn't belong to any particular faction. The Tribunal would either send its own people to guard the entrance, or there's no reason to expect the people of Bai Town to contribute to their strategic threat.

After a routine check, Mo Fan and Tang Yue were both found to be fine and were quickly allowed to pass without even an identity check.

Upon entering Bai Town, Mo Fan and Tang Yue immediately noticed something unusual about it.

Normally, the entire street would be bustling like a marketplace, with shops, stalls, buildings, markets, and chambers of commerce, and a very dense flow of people. After all, this was where most of the mages who dealt with demons rested and traded.

The street was deserted today. There were no stalls at all, and the shops were barely open, but you could hardly see anyone coming or going.

The situation at the shopping mall is slightly better, but it's still far from the usual foot traffic.

After wandering around the town, I found that it was under martial law; people were allowed to enter but not leave!

Unfortunately, Mo Fan and Tang Yue were trapped in Bai Town.

Not long after they entered the town, White Town was placed under complete lockdown, prohibiting anyone from leaving the special town to prevent any lurking plague carriers from spreading the virus further.

Mo Fan and Tang Yue's situation suddenly became awkward. They had originally planned to stay in Bai Town and then immediately take the Sky Serpent to Bai Mountain.

Regardless of whether the Sky Serpent is the cause of the plague, it cannot stay in the town; sending it away is the best option.

Who knew that the town was sealed off, with a barrier outside, and anyone who left without permission would be discovered, which plunged Mo Fan and Tang Yue into deep sorrow.

Mo Fan and Tang Yue were tired from their journey, so they decided to find a hotel to stay in, the kind that doesn't require identity registration.

The store environment was quite ordinary. While waiting for the key at the front desk, Mo Fan noticed that the girl at the front desk was wearing a white mask and couldn't help but say, "This plague seems to be quite serious."

The girl looked up at Mo Fan with wary eyes, seemingly a little shy.

She searched for a while before finding the key, but didn't dare to speak.

The proprietress next to her laughed and said, "Isn't that right? Ever since that giant snake appeared, 'Full-Time Creation Master' has received rave reviews and overwhelming praise! This plague has spread throughout the entire Hangzhou area."

In my opinion, that snake is real. What kind of video is that? The government always releases information that nobody believes.

"How do you know that the plague was caused by that snake?" Mo Fan asked, puzzled.

"This illness appeared just one day ago!"

Although I am not a mage, I know that most snakes are venomous!

Just think about it, such a huge snake, if it were to spread its venom, wouldn't that be a plague?!

"In my opinion, we should find that big snake as soon as possible, otherwise the plague will continue to spread and people will start dying!" the proprietress said.

"Mom, didn't you just hear these things from other people?" The girl wearing a mask finally spoke.

"It's almost certainly true; there's no such thing as a coincidence," the proprietress said.

Mo Fan chatted with them for a few minutes, then took the keys and went upstairs.

Teacher Tang Yue's current status is special, so she didn't show her face in the lobby. She hurriedly said she was going to the restroom and went upstairs.

Mo Fan saw Teacher Tang Yue upstairs and asked, "Did you hear what they were saying just now?"

Tang Yue nodded, biting her lip but remaining silent.

"Are you hiding something from me?" Mo Fan couldn't help but ask when he saw Tang Yue's expression.

Teacher Tang Yue still didn't answer, and Mo Fan could see a hint of unease in her eyes.

Upon arriving at the room, Mo Fan unlocked the door with his key. Teacher Tang Yue walked in, looking preoccupied, and turned back to Mo Fan, saying, "Go back to your room. I want to be alone."

"Um, the landlady said there's only one room left today," Mo Fan said, scratching his head with an embarrassed expression.

Tang Yue looked up at Mo Fan, who was utterly shameless, and said, both amused and annoyed, "Do you think I'd believe Bai Town is so deserted?"

"Living together means we can look out for each other," Mo Fan said.

"Go away, go downstairs and open another one. I know what kind of person you are!"

"Teacher Tang Yue..."

The room door slammed shut with a loud "bang".

Mo Fan also heard the sound of the door being locked from the inside, so it seemed that trying to use a scene from an ancient costume drama wouldn't work.

Mo Fan reluctantly booked another room and, in a very unhygienic manner, went to sleep immediately.

……

In the next room, Tang Yue moved a chair and sat on the balcony.

These houses are converted from residential buildings into hotels, and each room has a balcony.

It was already quite bright, but the entire prosperous town of White seemed to be shrouded in a sense of unease. Occasionally, a few figures would pass by between the streets, all wearing masks and hurrying along.

Health station, medical cross, medical staff wrapped up tightly, ambulances rushing by...

Tang Yue had been worried about the Tu Motian Serpent recently and was unaware that the plague in the vicinity of Hangzhou was getting worse.

"Mo Fan, are you asleep?" Tang Yue hesitated for a long time, but still couldn't help calling out to the room next to the balcony.

"I'm not asleep, I'm not asleep!" Mo Fan jumped up from the bed in a flash.

"Why did you jump over here!" Tang Yue glared at Mo Fan, who jumped directly from another balcony into her room.

"Aren't you afraid that someone will overhear us when we're talking?" Mo Fan said matter-of-factly.
