Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 92 Illustrated Guide Evolution

Bai Lin felt a little awkward when he heard Kaka's name, thinking to himself, "You can contact me yourself... That sissy makes me feel really insecure." But he only thought this to himself; he couldn't very well say it directly to Lulu, since they weren't even close friends.

"Um... I haven't specifically thanked you for the last time Grandpa was attacked!" Lulu suddenly said.

Bai Lin was surprised by the sudden change of topic. He scratched his head and said, "It's nothing... I just happened to be there. How could I stand by and watch someone die? By the way, is there any follow-up to the assassin incident...?"

Before Bai Lin could finish speaking, Lulu suddenly leaned in and kissed him on the lips. Her lips were soft, and Bai Lin felt his mind go blank. He wasn't a novice in love anymore; he'd kissed Catherine countless times. But this time, the feeling was completely different—gentle, alluring, and tinged with excitement, guilt, and even a touch of shame. He'd actually been kissed by his cousin (albeit nominally)...

"This is my first kiss! Consider it a thank-you gift for my cousin!" Lulu said, blushing.

"What good is your first kiss to me? You might as well give me a bunch of Galleons instead... Seriously, you were born in Northern Europe and grew up in France. You're twenty and still don't have your first kiss? Do you think I'm a primary school student?" Bai Lin thought to himself.

Lulu was about to say something when Bai Lin suddenly froze on the spot, because in a place Lulu couldn't see, the Summoning Encyclopedia underwent a drastic change in the air.

What was originally a large book with gold trim is now undergoing a dramatic transformation. Page by page, the pages are turning into golden specks of light, which then flow to the top of the ancient book, forming a new device. Yes, it is a device, with an outer shell, a mechanical core, and a display screen.

Other wizards might not recognize what this thing is, but Bai Lin traveled back from 2021, so this is at least a big-screen PAD!

As the massive tome slowly disappeared, the gold-plated PAD PLUS++ was also completed, displaying a new system notification:

[Activated due to a special event, 2516 Encyclopedia Points have been automatically consumed, and the Encyclopedia Summoning System upgrade is complete.]

[System kernel computing power open ratio 11.32%] (This likely means there aren't enough points, so only a portion of the computing power can be opened.)

[See the description for details of the related feature adjustments]

Bai Lin clicked in mid-air and saw that the adjustment instructions were over ten thousand words long. He decided to go back and study them carefully. However, two special functions stood out. The first was to recruit teammates, and the other was the Void Beast Pen.

"Cousin Kaili! Kaili?" Lulu walked up to Bai Lin and shook his shoulder.

Bai Lin snapped out of his daze and, seeing Lulu's anxious expression, said somewhat embarrassedly, "Ah, I'm fine, I'm still processing what the Judgment Instructor said..."

Lulu pursed her lips and said, "Cousin Kerry seems quite interested in Spellbreakers!"

The topic finally returned to what Bai Lin cared about, and he quickly nodded and said, "Those rune-inscribed guns and armor are simply too powerful, enough to overturn the power system of the wizarding world."

Lulu said with a smile in her eyes, "I didn't expect Cousin Kerry to have such a global perspective, caring about such important matters. Grandpa, it's really a waste of your talents to have you as a zoo director!"

Bai Lin was somewhat embarrassed, but Lulu quickly followed up: "The Spellbreakers have a history of over a thousand years. They originated from the hatred left over from the religious wars during the Crusades. Modern Spellbreakers believe that Muggles in many countries in North Africa and Central Asia have suffered greatly from wars, which stemmed from the struggle for resources. Dark wizards played the role of the mastermind behind these wars. Therefore, they gathered a large number of extreme people who hate dark wizards and established the modern Spellbreakers Association."

Originally, the Spellbreakers Association mainly operated in Egypt and Central Asia. To avoid direct conflict with the wizarding community, or perhaps to build up pressure, they primarily played the role of protecting Muggles from black wizards. For example, the Spellbreakers Association in Cairo cooperated closely with the authorities, and once a black wizard entered Cairo, he would be hunted down by the Spellbreakers.

Until the advent of runic armor, which is extremely difficult to manufacture and requires extensive alchemy, the runic heavy armor worn by Caesar, the captain of the Cairo Spellbreakers, was the culmination of at least three generations of work, achieving a level of protection that was almost magically immune. Let alone mass production, even if another set were to be forged, it would likely take decades.

Bai Lin asked curiously, "But that female assassin's 98K doesn't look like it took decades to build!"

Lulu frowned and said, "Perhaps the Spellbreakers have mastered some new alchemy, which has greatly accelerated the production efficiency of rune weapons. But even so, there are currently less than ten known rune guns. They may be a threat, but to say that they will overturn the entire wizarding world is, in the opinion of the Ministry of Magic, an exaggeration."

Bai Lin nodded and said, "The difficulty of making armor that is immune to magic must be higher than that of weapons that can destroy magical shields. If the Ministry of Magic can master the technology of runes, then the Dark Lord will not be a threat."

Lulu shrugged and said, "Since the female assassin escaped, the Spellbreakers have vanished overnight. The Ministry of Magic can't communicate with them and can only issue a warrant for her arrest. Unless she commits another crime, it's likely to remain a cold case."

Bai Lin said thoughtfully, "They'll strike again soon. The assassins they've trained with so much effort and the equipment they've created can't possibly be just here to kill a few ordinary officials and Elder Ross. I'm worried that if they don't act now, they might do something big next..."

Suddenly, Bai Lin and Lulu exchanged a glance and exclaimed almost simultaneously, "The Quidditch World Cup!"

At this moment, the door to the secret chamber finally opened, and Ross, the one-eyed bald man, was visibly relieved to see that Lulu was safe and sound. He then led the two back to the ground, where servants quickly brought two bowls of hot soup.

Lulu frowned, held the liquid in her hands, and Bai Lin took it and saw that it was a black, viscous liquid. At this moment, several very modern electronic words appeared in front of Bai Lin's eyes: Obtain Soul-Stabilizing Herbal Soup. After consumption, soul strength +1.

Elder Ross said, "Children, drink it. Entering the magic orb repeatedly will cause unclear damage to one's soul. This soup can alleviate this damage, but you should not enter the magic orb again for a year."

Seeing that the system had approved it, Bai Lin endured the indescribable strange taste and drank the medicine in one gulp, while Lulu dawdled and drank it for almost ten minutes.

Although Bai Lin's mouth felt uncomfortable after drinking the medicinal soup, his head felt much lighter. He suddenly realized that it was probably because the Seekers' family possessed this Soul-Stabilizing Herbal Soup that they were able to effectively combat the Dementors that harmed souls, thus managing Azkaban.

After Lulu recounted her experiences in the Spell Orb to Elder Ross, Bai Lin hurriedly bid farewell to the Ross family. He needed to find a secluded spot to study the upgraded Summoning Compendium and prepare for the upcoming summer vacation and Quidditch World Cup.

Before leaving, Lulu gave Bai Lin a small stack of sticky notes. Bai Lin took one look and realized that they were the same sticky notes that Finis used to send "text messages" to Kaka. He stuffed them into his pocket. You can never have too many of these things. What's the most important thing in the 21st century? Information!
