Chapter 463 Gracuia's Miscalculation

Bai Lin was betting that Batman wouldn't be at ease knowing Superman was really dead. Because if there's a villain like General Zod Zhang San with Superman's Man of Steel, there's also General Youde Li Si. He needs to be prepared to deal with other Kryptonian invasions, so he will inevitably upgrade the defense mechanism and build a more powerful anti-Superman armor.

In this respect, Batman and Iron Man from Marvel share a very similar philosophy. They both have plenty of money and insurance.

Now it's time to see how powerful this intimidating-looking mech really is!

Superman grinned, seemingly quite disdainful of Mr. Wayne's new toy.

If this were in a movie, whether for the sake of visual effects or to pad out the runtime, Superman would have to go through a few rounds with Batman, having a gladiator-style real man's duel, with every punch landing and the blood pumping.

However, Gracua didn't care whether there were audiences or fans. His eyes glowed red again, a sign of laser eyes.

He had used his laser eyes several times during his battle with Bai Lin, but unfortunately Bai Lin's Apparition had almost no cooldown, and his predictive ability and reaction speed were not much worse than Gracua's, so he did not succeed.

But against this massive mecha shell, Cyclops can hit anything he points at; it's impossible for him to dodge. Poor Aquaman Arthur is a prime example—strong, powerful, and with a magnificent physique, it was all for naught.

"Oh no..." Bai Lin hadn't thought about whether he should teleport over to save Batman, because he wasn't sure if he could apparite with such a large mech. Superman didn't give him a second to think, and the domineering red laser had already struck the chest of the Arkham Knight mech.

However, the mech was not crushed into pieces as Superman had predicted. The laser only destroyed the outermost decorative shell on the mech's chest, which was then completely absorbed by the green light inside.

Bai Lin took a closer look and immediately burst out laughing. Batman's Arkham Knight armor had at least ten egg-sized gems embedded in its chest, emitting a dazzling green light.

"Is this the power of money? Damn, did he collect all the kryptonite on Earth?!" Bai Lin exclaimed in admiration.

He suddenly understood why Batman created such a large suit of armor to fight Superman, instead of creating a smaller, more flexible mechanical suit like Iron Man, as shown in the Batman v Superman movie—it was because of the properties of Kryptonite.

This alien mineral is a very paradoxical existence in the Superman series. It can make Superman lose his superpowers, become weak or even die, and it comes from Superman's home planet. This is very absurd. Are Kryptonians all masochists, carrying Krypton around everywhere, afraid that others can't kill them?

This thing also affects Earthlings, giving ordinary people all sorts of strange and wonderful superpowers in a short period of time. In the American TV series "Teen Superman," it has become a panacea, and most of the humans who are enhanced do not have a good death.

Batman probably used this heavy, massive suit of armor to isolate the Kryptonite from his body, fearing its effects on him, so that he wouldn't end up with horns on his head and a tail on his back.

Superman was somewhat flustered upon seeing so much Kryptonite; he had indeed miscalculated. Batman, as Superman's ally, secretly prepared to stab him in the back, which also showed that Gracoa lacked understanding of human nature.

Humans are perhaps the most diverse race on Earth. Some are incredibly strong, some are extremely weak, some are exceptionally intelligent, some are incredibly stupid, some are single-celled organisms, and some can even have dozens of split personalities. (A popular online discussion among readers: What exactly happened? Join the discussion!)

Batman is a representative of a very complex personality. If you say he doesn't kill, he almost wiped out the entire Shadows organization led by the Ninja Master. If you say he is decisive in killing, he falls into a deep moral dilemma when facing an opponent like the Joker.

This kind of person is probably completely incomprehensible to Gracua.

Before Superman could react, Batman had already flown over and delivered a powerful straight punch to Henry Cavill's handsome face, a punch that even Bai Lin felt hurt watching.

Batman truly lives up to his reputation as the chosen one of time; he's got some skills. His combo moves were fluid and seamless, showering Superman with blows. Bai Lin's four great swords were unable to intervene for a while, and could only cheer him on from afar.

However, despite being hit repeatedly, Superman maintained a steady distance from the kryptonite on the chest of his Arkham Knight armor. Therefore, although he looked badly beaten, Bai Lin knew that such physical attacks would not cause any effective damage to Superman's steel body. In other words, Superman would only need a second or two to recover completely under the blazing sun that had already risen above the horizon.

"He's testing the extent of Kryptonite's influence on him!" Bai Lin thought bitterly.

Just as Bai Lin was getting anxious, Superman burst into laughter and quickly distanced himself from Batman, his eyes glowing red again.

"I bet you can't be covered in kryptonite!" Superman sneered, and a flash of red light appeared as the laser blasted into the flight thrusters on the feet of the Arkham Knight mech, causing a massive explosion.

"Reality really isn't like the movies..." Bai Lin could hardly bear to watch anymore. In movies, villains never attack the flight propulsion systems of Iron Man or other Jaeger protagonists because everyone knows that if those systems are damaged, even with the slightest malfunction, Earth's gravity could destroy the cool protagonist's Jaeger.

Just as a combat engine can be struck by a stray bullet, flying weapons of war, in order to consider load capacity, cannot possess very strong defensive capabilities, thus becoming a combination of extreme strength and extreme weakness. The correct way to use mechs is for beyond-visual-range attacks, not for charging into melee combat like ancient Roman slaves.

Superman wouldn't just blow off Batman's leg; red light flashed like a machine gun, and the Arkham Knight's armor was saturated with lasers hitting more than ten points, including the shoulders, waist, and face.

While some parts may be damaged by the embedded kryptonite, as Superman said, Batman couldn't possibly cover the entire Arkham Knight armor with kryptonite; there would always be places that were missed.

As the massive mech crashed to the ground amidst sparks, Superman turned his gaze back to Bai Lin, his eyes filled with extreme coldness.

Just as Bai Lin was on high alert, a spatial anomaly suddenly appeared behind Superman. It was neither a portal to the magical world nor a spacetime portal sent by Gracua.

The energy generated by this spacetime anomaly naturally attracted the attention of Bai Lin and Superman.

Sure enough, less than a second after this strange energy appeared, a humanoid figure emerged from it, dressed entirely in a yellow uniform with a red lightning bolt on its chest.

Immediately afterwards, the man's figure disappeared, and Superman was slammed into the ground by a tremendous force.

"This is... Reverse Lightning?" Bai Lin was dumbfounded. "Gracua miscalculated, hahaha!"
