Chapter 43 Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw

The buzz surrounding wizard duels continued into the weekend, thanks to the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.

Jordan, along with Fred and George, had been frequently trying to set up a magical arena at Hogsmeade to host wizard duels, but this was quickly stopped by the Hogwarts administration and the Auror office. The clowns weren't giving up, but they just didn't dare to openly set up an arena anymore.

Bai Lin knew that Harry would inexplicably run into his first love, Cho Chang, because Cho Chang was Ravenclaw's Seeker. Bai Lin was quite interested in this gossip and prepared to leisurely enjoy the show up close.

On the Gryffindor side, after their victory over Hufflepuff, Wood was so proud that he had Harry "enshrine" the Firebolt in the center of the common room table, treating it like a sacred object, almost to the point of organizing everyone to worship it. Occasionally, fans—like Percy's girlfriend Penelope—would sneak in to touch the Firebolt; if she had a smartphone and social media at that moment, she would definitely have taken a nine-grid selfie.

Today's weather was completely different from the day of the match last week. It was sunny, cool, and breezy, with no visibility issues, which was more conducive to Harry's performance. Although Harry was a little nervous, he was more excited by the thrill of Quidditch.

Even though he knew there wouldn't be any more Dementors attacking, Harry still habitually took his wand out of his pocket and tucked it into the T-shirt under his Quidditch robe, always ready for battle.

Wood, beaming with pride, gave a pre-match pep talk to the team, leading them in chanting slogans as they walked onto the field.

The cheers from the stands were deafening. The Ravenclaw team, dressed in blue jerseys, had already taken their place in the center of the field. As the captains from both sides came forward to shake hands, Harry saw Cho Chang. Cho Chang was the only girl on the Ravenclaw team, and she was about a head shorter than Harry. Harry suddenly felt a little nervous. Cho Chang, like Bai Lin, was an Asian with a stunningly beautiful face. Noticing Harry looking at her, Cho Chang smiled at Harry in a friendly manner. Harry felt a strange twitch in his stomach, followed by a feeling of heat on his face.

"Get on your broom... listen to my whistle..." Ms. Hodge said crisply.

"Hey! Harry!" George, seeing that Harry hadn't moved much, gently nudged him, and Harry snapped out of his daze and quickly mounted his broom. At the starting whistle, the Firebolt shot into the air first.

Lee Jordan was still in charge of the commentary, and he was talking non-stop, constantly mentioning the "fireball" (a reference to a popular Chinese idiom for a product placement), as if he had received a product placement fee from his sponsor.

Meanwhile, Snape was not watching the battle from the stands. He was in the potions lab, which was dimly lit and filled with beakers, measuring cylinders and crucibles of various colors. Very few students or faculty members came here, or rather, 99% of the students had never been here before.

Snape, his face still grim, walked to a table piled high with herbs. He waved his wand, and the herbs burst into flames, which quickly changed from reddish-orange to green, before transforming into the image of a woman with a very flamboyant hairstyle.

The woman said sarcastically, "Severus, I don't want to hear you say anything about not succeeding!"

Snape raised his head slightly, a hint of disdain in his eyes, and said, "You mean you want me to kill him in front of Dumbledore?"

The woman laughed maniacally, saying in a somewhat delusional manner, "Coward, you're a coward, hahaha..."

Snape said expressionlessly, "Bella, why don't you kill Cathy White? I heard he's been with Black all along. They killed Antonin together and captured Visanusak and Chansen."

The woman stopped laughing and said, "Sirius... I'll go, I will! I'll send my challenge to that meddlesome guy, haha, Sirius, I'll cut open his stomach, hahaha..."

Before Snape could say anything, a bright light shot out from the flames and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

On the field, Harry and Cho Chang were chasing each other. Cho Chang's broom was also a comet, but her technique was very skillful, and she had obviously trained Harry specifically. She kept using her body to block Harry's firebolts, and for a while Harry couldn't do anything about her. He couldn't just knock her away, could he?

"Harry, no time for gentlemanly behavior!" shouted Goalkeeper Wood, who was always slamming on the brakes or turning around to avoid knocking Cho Chang over. "If necessary, knock her off the broom!"

Harry swallowed hard, then turned his head to see Cho Chang flying close to him, a smile on her face. He glanced at her briefly, and the Snitch vanished again. Harry gritted his teeth, flicked the Firebolt upwards, and quickly rose twenty feet above the stadium. Cho Chang was clearly following him, no longer searching for the Snitch herself.

"Fine, if she wants to follow me, she'll have to bear the consequences!" Harry thought to himself.

Harry swooped down, leading Cho Chang to believe he had found the Snitch's location, so he quickly followed and accelerated alongside Harry.

Harry suddenly stopped diving and pulled up sharply, like a fighter jet in a Cobra maneuver, but Cho Chang couldn't stop and kept falling, like a comet crashing to the ground.

Harry straightened up and finally saw it for the third time: the Snitch was shining brightly in the sky above the Ravenclaw stadium.

"The victory is assured!" Bai Lin said to Black beside him from the stands. Black was wearing that exaggerated lion hat and cheering for Harry and Gryffindor.

Black ignored Bai Lin and stood up, yelling wildly for Harry. Bai Lin shrugged, remembering that in the original plot, three Dementors had inexplicably appeared here, and they were chased away by Harry's Patronus after just standing there and striking a pose. However, with the sun shining so brightly today, if any Dementors came out, it would just be giving him a free 300 points.

However, it seems that the Dementors who were still lingering at Hogwarts were all caught last time, so Harry didn't encounter anything this time. He decisively grabbed the Snitch and ended the battle.

Mrs. Hodge blew her whistle, and Harry spun around in mid-air to see six bright red figures flying toward him. All the team members were hugging her tightly, almost making him fall off his broom.

The Gryffindor stands erupted in cheers. They were now clearly ranked first in the entire school, and the House Cup was beckoning them. Students took off their red robes and waved them in the air.

Ron’s third brother, Percy, was especially happy because he had bet ten Galleons on Gryffindor and, due to the odds, won six Galleons, enough to buy Penelope a decent Christmas present.
