Bai Lin looked up and saw a black boy of about fourteen or fifteen years old standing timidly in front of the door. He was wearing thick glasses and carrying a large bag, seemingly with all the luggage he had taken when he ran away from home.

"Ah!" Sifugar let out a joyful laugh, circling the boy a few times in a space-time unseen by him, and called out to Bai Lin, "Found him! He's the Awakened One!"

Bai Lin was overjoyed and warmly welcomed the boy inside.

"I am the Dream Master, and I hope I can help you." Bai Lin's smiling expression made Jason and Mary, who were standing next to him, shudder, as if they were seeing a creepy uncle luring children to catch goldfish.

The boy sat down on the sofa where the consultation was being conducted, but he refused to put his backpack down and instead held it tightly in his arms.

"You're often plagued by nightmares, aren't you...? Are they some kind of alien monsters that look like octopuses, but are much more evil, attaching themselves to people and eating their brains?" Bai Lin asked bluntly.

The boy exclaimed in surprise, "You already know? I haven't even started talking yet!"

"It is my honor to tell you that we are all the same, we are all Awakened Ones," Bai Lin said affirmatively.

For a child who lacks a sense of security, it's easier to lower their guard by using empathy and saying "we're all the same" rather than adopting a condescending mentor attitude.

The boy's eyes widened as if he were seeing a fellow patient suffering in the same predicament, and tears almost welled up in his eyes.

Those dreams are a projection of information left by the gods in the Earth's protective mechanism. They describe in detail the horrors of the ancient gods. "How did you do that, sir? I haven't slept this well in a long time!" the boy exclaimed in surprise.

"It's no trouble at all... As long as you receive treatment for a period of time, you will say goodbye to those nightmares," Bai Lin said kindly.

The boy suddenly looked embarrassed and said, "Um... sir, but I don't have any money... I don't know how to pay your consultation fee..."

Bai Lin shrugged. This boy was either a rebellious teenager who had run away from home or a homeless orphan; he was unlikely to be able to help him. However, helping him was a simple matter, so he might as well consider it an act of kindness.

Mary, however, was quite happy and offered the boy a glass of water, perhaps because they were both Black and she was naturally more friendly.

The boy briefly introduced himself; his name was Philo, and he had dropped out of junior high. Bai Lin gleaned some information from his words: the boy's father was probably involved in organized crime and hadn't done anything good. In New York at that time, very few Black people followed the right path. He didn't want to follow in his father's footsteps, so he ran away from home.

"What's in here?" Jason asked, pointing to Philo's large bag.

"You may not have seen this before... This is my treasure..." Philo hugged the big bag tightly, but in the end she still satisfied their curiosity and took out a black machine from it.

Philo then pulled out a rather rudimentary-looking modem, or "cat," and explained, "As long as you plug it in with a phone line, this can do a lot of things, even hack into other people's computers!"

"Damn, you're a hacker!" Bai Lin exclaimed in surprise. In this era, the internet was not very developed, and hackers were extremely rare. Many people started learning about computers from scratch, and all hacking programs had to be written by themselves.

Philo was somewhat surprised that Bai Lin seemed to be very familiar with her best expertise in cybersecurity, and suddenly felt like she had met a kindred spirit.

Jason and Mary, being young wizards, naturally had no interest in these Muggle gadgets.

After Bai Lin sent the two clowns away and the clinic closed, Filo had nowhere to stay, so Bai Lin lent Filo the place that Lao Pan had arranged for him. Of course, he was going to go and cuddle with Lulu that night (evil, evil...).

When Philo learned that Bai Lin was a powerful wizard, she was almost scared to death, and then she was incredibly envious.
