Chapter 349 Test Subjects and the Silent Ones
Tumors can't grow on rocks and sand, so could the core of a planet be a living organism? Bai Lin couldn't understand it at all, but Earth's habitable environment is indeed extremely rare in the observable universe. Was it really just a series of coincidences that brought all this together? Or was there some other reason?
At this moment, Bai Lin seemed to see some clues from this magic array. The spherical fetus at the center of the array should just be a metaphor, or a personification of some supernatural existence. Bai Lin had once heard a term from literary works - Star Soul.
Combining this with the questions mentioned above, we can vaguely draw a conclusion: the gods did not randomly select any planet in the universe and carry out orderly transformations, but only transformed planets that possessed star souls.
The ancient gods are cancer cells that unexpectedly grew out of the star soul during its growth process.
However, this clearly contradicts other information Bai Lin possesses, because he has learned through Hastur's dream that Hastur is located in the depths of a galaxy countless light-years away, completely unrelated to Earth. Bai Lin had also seen the following information in Zemurs's system introduction: billions of years ago, Cthulhu brought a virus from the world of Vol in the Twenty-Third Nebula, which transformed squid on Earth into more intelligent, agile, and ferocious octopuses... In other words, Cthulhu was not native to Earth either.
Why then is such a bizarre scene unfolding within this magic circle? Suddenly, Bai Lin was startled by another thought. With this question in mind, he looked at the statues around him again, and he couldn't help but shudder.
If these statues represent the supreme gods, then what they are doing is not bringing order and light to Earth, but rather experimenting on the Earth's stellar soul; this malignant tumor is planted by them...
Just as Bai Lin was breaking out in a cold sweat from the shock of his own thoughts, the encyclopedia system suddenly popped up with a long message:
Warning: The space where the host resides contains numerous anomalies, seriously threatening the stability of the real world!
The collected information has been uploaded.
……
Warning: This spatial fragment will be taken over by "Olisaga the Silent One".
Please leave this space fragment as soon as possible.
"The Silent One Orisaga" is being activated...
……
"Damn it, how am I supposed to know how to get out of this hellhole!" Bai Lin cursed at the interface of the encyclopedia system. He had already activated Apparition immediately, but he had lost contact with all the anchor points, which meant that he was trapped here.
He quickly moved among the statues, touching and pressing them, trying to find any mechanisms in the surrounding environment. In his haphazard attempts, he actually found a red gem that could move in a corner of the altar, and he pressed it down without hesitation.
After a brief silence of two or three seconds, the entire eerie magic circle seemed to come alive, and the statues, with a slight tremor, began to turn automatically.
Being stared at by more than fifty strangely-looking statues would make anyone's scalp tingle, but thankfully they weren't looking at Bai Lin, but were staring intently at the sphere in the center of the magic circle, or what we would call the "Star Soul".
The statues began to move and bustle about; some were casting spells, some were writing something, and some were fiddling with strange tools of unknown purpose. But anyone could see that they seemed to be injecting power into the "Star Soul" and then observing the state of the tumor.
The statues seemed like truly intelligent beings, completely ignoring Bai Lin's presence and working wholeheartedly. The central star soul also underwent some changes; the fetus's expression showed slight discomfort, and the black tumor slowly grew larger, seemingly harboring a twisted monster that chilled the heart.
"Is this how the gods cultivate the Great Old Ones?" Bai Lin watched all of this unfold, his emotions running high, and he couldn't help but shout at the statues.
The statues were busy with their own tasks, ignoring Bai Lin. However, suddenly a voice came from behind Bai Lin:
"These are merely servants of the Tree of Life array..."
Bai Lin was shocked and quickly turned around. He hadn't even noticed someone had come up behind him. If the other party wanted to harm him, he might lose his life.
However, the person standing behind him was not a person, but a "robot" made of brass-colored metal, with a head resembling an eagle similar to the ancient Egyptian god "Ra", long curly hair sculpted from lapis lazuli, and arms crossed, holding a long scepter in his hands.
Bai Lin habitually looked at the summoning encyclopedia interface, hoping to see the encyclopedia's description, but the encyclopedia interface did not respond.
"Don't bother looking at your tools, this space has been taken over by me... including it..." the eagle-headed robot said. His mouth didn't move, but his words were clear and articulate, like those of a native Easterner. Bai Lin knew that the other party wasn't actually speaking, but was simply transmitting information as sound to his ears in a way that he could sense.
"You are... the Silent One, Orisaga? What do you intend to do with me?" Bai Lin asked warily, his palms slightly sweaty.
Orizaga walked nonchalantly into the magic circle, gently stroking the statue that was busy at work, before finally saying, "I sense that you do not come from this space, nor even from the current plane... The Fate Writer did not teach me how to deal with you..."
"Then let me ask another question. What do you plan to do with the remains of the ancient god?" Bai Lin asked, his eyes darting around. He had already sensed that Orisaga was far more powerful than he could comprehend. If he could use him to deal with Orochi, it would be a freebie.
Orizaga glanced at Bai Lin sideways and said, "Don't try anything funny with me. Your thoughts can't escape the eyes of the Silent Ones..." He paused and continued, "However, I do admire your courage... So, give me a reason why I'll let you go..."
Bai Lin seemed to have thought of something, and suddenly laughed, "I bet you don't have the authority to directly kill humans!"
Orizaga's body trembled slightly, a subtle but unmistakable tremor that betrayed his surprise. He appeared directly in front of Bai Lin, staring down at him. His imposing figure exerted a certain pressure on Bai Lin. Orizaga asked, "Do you know who I am?"
Bai Lin shrugged and said, "I'm pretty sure I've guessed it... You're probably the antivirus software left on Earth by the gods!"
"Antivirus software..." Orizaga's gaze pierced through Bai Lin's thoughts, as if he could read what "antivirus software" was from his brain.
He sighed softly, his voice barely audible to Bai Lin, and said, "Leave! Human! The Silent Ones will destroy the remnants of the Ancient Gods. You have ten minutes to escape."
After saying that, Orizaga flew into the air, and his body began to emit a dazzling white light, which almost blinded Bai Lin.
"Go now, human! I look forward to our next encounter..."
