Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 246 Valkyrie?

Bai Lin realized a problem: could Fujiwara Ichiura share his vision with the female ghost before him? If so, he should recognize him, after all, he was... handsome and dashing, a beauty that could overshadow even the most beautiful woman...

Just then, the female ghost conjured two more phantoms, attacking from both sides with a flurry of blades aimed at Bai Lin. Bai Lin shrank back, dodging the blades in a rather unrefined manner.

This move was disgusting. Bai Lin felt extremely uncomfortable just thinking about his stomach digesting his own flesh. It would be too embarrassing to be stabbed a few more times and die from being overeaten by his own flesh.

His mind raced with thoughts, but his hands didn't stop. He spread his fingers and shouted, "Summon: Shadow Chains!"

The Shadow Chains' predecessor, the "Shadow Demon," was a reward for sealing the Dementors. While other creatures could be summoned simply by sealing them, monsters "modified" by the Black Wizard, such as Dementors, Two-Headed Nightshade Dragons, and Mutant Mist Eels, yielded different rewards. Bai Lin believed the encyclopedia system wasn't giving out random rewards; rather, these items were closely related to the sealed monsters, and the Shadow Demon's power likely shared the same origin as the Dementors.

If the Shadow Demon comes from a power system similar to that of the Dementors, given the many similarities between the Dementors and the Ju-on, the Shadow Chains should be somewhat effective.

With Bai Lin's current strength, the Shadow Chains are no longer just one or two, but hundreds or even thousands of them shooting out from all directions of spacetime rifts, instantly turning the area around the two female ghosts into a spiderweb cave. Even Spider-Man would applaud and say he's an expert.

One of the phantoms of the Cursed One was shattered by the Shadow Chains, while the other was bound hand, foot, and waist by the Shadow Chains, like a prisoner bound hand and foot.

Ju-on tried to break free of her arms, and at the same time, many black substances seemed to come alive, surging over the wall and to Ju-on's feet. Bai Lin was about to use the power of the guardian deity to shine on them, but the female ghost suddenly seemed to turn into an empty shell, quickly deflated, like a balloon expiring.

"Trying to pull a fast one on me?" Bai Lin cursed inwardly.

Just then, the glass window on one side began to shake violently, making a "whooshing" sound. Edogawa Hiroyuki turned his head and was stunned. He saw countless ghost faces crashing into the window. As the first piece of glass shattered, clumps of gray-white ghost faces poured into the room. Edogawa Hiroyuki quickly hid next to Shirarin.

In fact, if Yan Nishuang had been there, her talisman magic would have been the nemesis of these evil spirits, while Bai Lin's confidently upgraded elemental magic would have been much less effective. Fortunately, Catherine's gentle and clear voice appeared in Bai Lin's ears just in time.

"I'll deal with it!" Catherine said. "I sense a strong aura of evil." To be precise, Catherine could no longer be considered human at this point, but rather a spiritual energy entity fused with the soul of the Star Angel Aphrodite. Normally, she could only stay in the Cloud Palace in the Celestial Realm, but after receiving Dumbledore's power of order, she could now materialize in the real world for short periods of time.

Bai Lin glanced at Edogawa Hiroyuki beside him and said, "Kid, I'm about to unleash a powerful move. Hold your chin up, or you'll be scared silly!" Since burying his ears was useless, Bai Lin simply canceled it to avoid making it inconvenient to speak.

Hiroyuki Edogawa was stunned, looking bewildered. He had seen too many monsters and bloody scenes in the past few days, and he didn't know what other powerful move Bai Lin could use to "scare him silly".

Just as he was stunned, Bai Lin gathered his magic power in his right hand. Where Edogawa Hiroyuki couldn't see, Sifugar stood on Bai Lin's hand, using her staff to absorb Bai Lin's magic power and opening a golden vortex in front of him.

To Edogawa Hiroyuki's utter astonishment, Catherine, with wings on her back and clad in golden armor, descended from the golden vortex and stood before them.

"This...this...this is a Valkyrie??" Hiroyuki Edogawa's mind raced, rattling off some of the references he knew. But upon seeing Catherine's face and figure, he couldn't help but swoon again: "Another angel sister?"

Bai Lin rolled his eyes. This kid's not bad-witted, but why is he so infatuated? How come he's so different from the famous detective in my mind?

At this moment, hundreds and thousands of ghost faces filled the room, spinning wildly around them like a vortex, while emitting all sorts of strange and terrifying screams.

"These souls are wailing..." Catherine said. As an angel of the Order of Good, just like with Caesar, she could sense the emotions, memories, and desires of the souls. She was not a saint of the Judgement faction, and would not judge the good or evil of these souls to reward or punish them (it's usually punishment; how many souls are truly pure and innocent?). What she could do was seek balance amidst the chaotic and complex emotions of these souls, and pursue fairness and goodness.

As the ghostly face spun, it formed more than a dozen figures of cursed beings, each wielding a sharp knife. Their white robes continuously displayed the twisted and gleeful faces of the souls of the old and young.

"Soul Power Extraction!" Catherine reached out and actually pinched a leaf out of thin air, as if it were carved from jade. It was crystal clear and obviously not an ordinary object.

The surrounding Ju-on creatures were horrified to discover that the souls that had been refined into evil spirits on their bodies, which were like firewood stuffed into a furnace, providing a continuous source of power for the Ju-on creatures, suddenly stopped in front of Catherine. Instead, as if tiny specks of starlight had emerged from their bodies, they quickly gathered on the emerald leaf in Catherine's hand.

Driven by the power behind it, the Cursed Ones obviously wouldn't sit idly by and wait for their soul power to be completely drained. Their figures swayed, almost leaving afterimages in the air. Even Bai Lin's superhuman reflexes couldn't see their movements clearly. He and Edogawa Hiroyuki only felt a blur before their eyes, and then an extremely violent shockwave brushed past them.

They were jolted and nearly fell. Looking around, they realized that the walls of the building were nowhere to be seen. The shockwave had shattered half the building into pieces. The only reason they were still standing was because Catherine had drawn the Star Angel's sword and stood in front of them. More than a dozen cursed blades were blocked by the sword, and only a small section of the floor and pillar behind her survived the shockwave. They were now suspended three stories in the air, like a solitary tower.

The cursed creatures screamed and tried to continue their attack, but all the sharp knives in their hands shattered.
