After merging with countless guardian deities, Bai Lin felt that the Divine Owl had become even more powerful. It was as if he had become a god, and there was no power in the world that could rival him.
In the surrounding white light, Bai Lin seemed to see many familiar faces, some alive, some deceased, and even more smiling faces of children—all the children of Hogwarts, whether Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or even many Ravenclaw and Slytherin students, as well as Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students. The children's joy, courage, justice, and kindness formed this invincible power.
"Listen up, we only have one chance! This power can only be used once!" Catherine shouted in time, waking Bai Lin from his somewhat blind arrogance and emotional state. He also realized that the Calling Eagle was already nearing its limit, barely able to withstand the infusion of so much Guardian Deity energy. If it missed its target, the Calling Eagle would probably dissipate. Without the Calling Eagle as its vessel, even if the children at Hogwarts could unite once again, they would not be able to form a unified fighting force.
"Don't worry! We have help, we'll definitely find his weakness!" A voice rang out in the white light. Bai Lin felt the voice was a little unfamiliar, but quickly realized that it was the voice of Harry's father, James.
James's figure appeared faintly in the white light. Following his finger, Bai Lin looked up and saw Voldemort's three-headed serpent descending from the sky like a mountain crashing down. Its power was enough to raze the entire Riddle House for miles around and crush the Owl into a pancake.
But when Bai Lin looked closely, he saw two very faint shadows on the chest of the three-headed serpent. They seemed to be the souls of two people struggling to emerge from the chest of the three-headed serpent. They were none other than Snape and Lucius Malfoy, who had died tragically.
The two souls stretched out their right hands together and pointed to a spot on the torso of the three-headed serpent.
Although it's unclear why Malfoy appeared, Bai Lin trusted Snape implicitly, and only those like them, who had been absorbed by Voldemort, probably knew the three-headed serpent's weakness.
"Go!" Bai Lin tightened his grip on Catherine's hand, but Catherine turned into a phantom. In the shadows, Bai Lin seemed to transform into a sharp arrow along with Catherine. The Owl suddenly accelerated, its body and the blazing silver flames drawing a silver line in the air. Its sharp beak, like the tip of an arrow, pierced the spot that Snape and Malfoy were pointing at.
Standing on the ground, Harry felt as if the sun had collided with the moon. The burst of light was too bright for him to look at directly, but he endured the blinding pain and stared intently at the two colossal beasts that had collided. He knew that victory or defeat depended on this moment, and that it was destined to become an epic. Even hundreds of years later, when young wizards opened a thick book in the library, they would find a record of this battle, in which hundreds and thousands of wizards worked together to defeat the terrifying Dark Lord, bringing peace to all of Britain, all of Europe, and even the whole world.
There was no cataclysmic nuclear explosion. After a brilliant flash, two figures, one black and one white, fell from the sky. The black figure was faster and soon crashed heavily into the Riddle family cemetery, which had already been stripped of several layers of earth. Then, the white figure flapped its wings, which were made of white light, and gently landed.
Harry jogged over and saw Bai Lin fold his wings. The dark figure on the ground was Voldemort, who had a face like a wild boar. A huge hole in his chest, about the size of a bowl, had almost pierced through him. His black heart was mostly destroyed and had stopped beating, but he was still alive.
Voldemort suddenly stretched out his finger and pointed it at Bai Lin, shouting from his mouth full of black blood, "Hawaii..."
However, before he could finish chanting the incantation, a flash of silver light streaked past, and his right hand was severed. Bai Lin would not give him another chance to die together with Bai Lin, severing his wrist with a sword and then plunging the sword into his throat.
Voldemort's body convulsed, and he forced out a few words: "I... AM... YOUR KING..."
"Yes, you are the king of the world. In hell, someone will give you a crown!" Bai Lin twisted the longsword without any mercy, and Voldemort finally breathed his last unwillingly.
The Demon King has fallen, and not a single fragment of his soul remains in the world.
If there is a hell, I wonder what fate awaits him.
If there were no hell, I don't know how Tom Riddle would face all the people he slaughtered...
On the distant horizon, a sliver of dawn appeared in the sky. The light of day, after the darkness of night, was shining a pure and warm ray of sunlight into Riddle Mansion through the dissipated black mist.
……
……
One week later, at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries.
Bai Lin was lying by the bed when a gentle little hand stroked his hair. He shook his head and woke up to see Lulu sitting up in bed, smiling at him.
After that great battle, Bai Lin finally rescued Lulu from Gringotts. She was trapped in the Lestrange family vault. Although she tried her best to protect herself with protective magic, she was still burned extensively by the scalding gold coins. Even though the damage was not irreversible, it still caused her a lot of suffering.
After the war, the Hogwarts teachers, along with staff from the Ministry of Magic, went to Riddle Hall to clean up the mess, assess the losses, and try to mitigate the impact on the local Muggles.
The Order of the Phoenix and the Auror Office suffered heavy losses. Scrimgeour's Auror squad was almost completely wiped out. Laut the Onion-Nosed survived, but he was seriously injured and was sent to St. Mungo's for treatment along with some other wounded wizards.
Dumbledore lost all his magic, but most importantly, he seemed to have given up all his memories, becoming an ordinary old man with some Alzheimer's, no longer the wise and powerful man he once was. He was sent to the old Dumbledore family home, where his younger brother Aberforth would take care of him for the rest of his life. The affairs of the wizarding world were no longer relevant to this great wizard who had worked hard for a hundred years, but history books would record his legendary life, forever preserving his image of justice, strength, and kindness.
When Fudge brought Umbridge to see Whitescale, he didn't praise Whitescale for eliminating the most powerful Dark Lord in history. Instead, he blamed Whitescale for many missing "high society figures," even though everyone knew that those "high society figures" were just Death Eaters summoned by Voldemort.
When Fudge learned that Dumbledore had lost his magic and even many of his memories, he was overjoyed. For him, the sudden disappearance of two of his greatest threats was a stroke of good fortune. No one could threaten his position in the Ministry of Magic anymore. The deaths of Scrimgeour and Crouch had left the Ministry of Magic severely understaffed, which was the perfect opportunity for Fudge to plant his "own people".
This great war was like an earthquake or a tsunami for the magical world in Britain and even the whole of Europe. People could not accept the complex development of events, from Voldemort's resurrection plot to Bai Lin's encirclement plan, and then to the battle between good and evil. No one knew how long the aftermath of this war would last or how far it would spread.
Whether he was called a hero, a savior, a schemer, or a cunning manipulator, the name Karin White became known to all wizards in Europe, making him a top figure in the country. His “spontaneous and solitary” participation in the war against evil dark wizards in recent years was also widely known. Bards would write poems about him, and the Daily Prophet would continue to report on his interviews (although most of the content was made up by reporters).
At the foot of the back hill of Hogwarts, on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, the teachers and students built a cemetery. Tombstones and busts of all the fallen members of the Order of the Phoenix, the Aurors, and wizards like Droopy were erected in the cemetery to commemorate their contributions in the fight against evil.
At the edge of the cemetery, almost submerged in flowers, lies the grave of Severus Snape. Although many students disliked his Potions class, they realized upon losing him that they would never again have such a learned, strict, and serious professor. No one could replace his position in Slytherin, Hogwarts, or even the entire Potions world.
Lucius Malfoy sat in the row behind Snape. Although he did not make many contributions during his lifetime, he ultimately chose to stand on the side of justice. Together with Snape, he found Voldemort's weakness and helped Bai Lin achieve the final victory, which can be considered a great contribution.
It will probably take Hogwarts a very long time to fully digest the effects of this great war. Fudge wants to appoint a new headmaster to Hogwarts, but the vice-headmaster, Professor McGonagall, is highly respected and has more than half of the support in Wizengamot. Fudge is not in a hurry. As long as he can find a flaw, he is confident that he will have an absolute advantage in the next appointment.
The students welcomed the end of the semester and summer vacation in a somber atmosphere. Harry, who won the Triwizard Tournament, donated all of his 1,000 Galleons prize money to the families of the deceased members of the Order of the Phoenix.
As Bai Lin emerged from St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries, he saw several black vintage cars parked along the tree-lined avenue outside the gate, seemingly waiting for him. Upon seeing Bai Lin, seven or eight Ministry of Magic employees in black uniforms emerged from the cars. They opened the door of the middle car, and Fudge, wearing his signature top hat, stepped out with an air of importance. Immediately, a subordinate offered him a cane, but he waved it away.
Bai Lin was stunned. This was far from the image of "Uncle Fudge" in his mind. Previously, Fudge would do everything himself, big or small. For example, when Harry ran away from his aunt's house, he went to the Leaky Cauldron to check on Harry's safety (this was completely different from the later behavior of Harry casting a spell to expel the Dementors, which led Fudge to suggest that he be expelled). For example, he, the Minister of Magic, would personally go to give the order to kill an animal (Buckbeak). He usually traveled light and did not have any attendants with him.
But whether it was because of his experience at the Quidditch World Cup opening ceremony or because the Ministry of Magic now has a monopoly, Fudge's position as Minister of Magic remained unchanged, but his status rose dramatically, and he now travels with the same rank as the Queen and the Prime Minister.
A young man in black wearing round sunglasses stopped Bai Lin. Although Bai Lin was slightly annoyed, he still decided to give Fudge some face. After all, Fudge was still his uncle in name, and he was still a nominal employee of the Ministry of Magic (his salary had been stopped...).
Fudge gestured for his men to make way. The man in black cautiously looked Bai Lin up and down before "reluctantly" making way a few meters to allow him to speak with Fudge alone.
Bai Lin rolled his eyes at the men in black. "Are you kidding me? With my current strength, you bunch of scrawny bastards aren't even enough to fill my teeth..."
Fuji looked gloomy and no longer treated Bai Lin like an elder. It seemed that there was a huge gap between the two, which made Fuji even a little hostile towards Bai Lin.
"I've read all the reports, three times," Fudge said in a deep voice, exuding the authority of a superior.
The report he mentioned was compiled after the war by the Ministry of Magic through questioning Bai Lin and others who were present at the scene. In the report, Bai Lin claimed that he did not know about Voldemort's resurrection in advance, but only noticed that someone had infiltrated the Triwizard Tournament. So he followed the clues and informed Crouch, Scrimgeour, and Dumbledore (since they were already dead and could not be questioned). In any case, the Ministry of Magic could not hold Bai Lin responsible for anything.
Bai Lin, however, sensed the source of Fudge's hostility. He had grown powerful enough to threaten Fudge's position. No matter what flawless reason Bai Lin fabricated, Fudge felt this was a carefully orchestrated ambush. Although the target was the wicked Voldemort, Bai Lin had mobilized over a hundred powerful wizards and even gained the support of the entire Hogwarts student body. In the near future, when these students graduated and became pillars of society, Bai Lin's prestige would directly replace Dumbledore's. And unlike Dumbledore, Bai Lin was not as low-key or content with tranquility; it was hard to guarantee that a power struggle wouldn't arise between them.
Bai Lin remained silent, and Fudge continued, "My task for you was to monitor Dumbledore and the various professors at Hogwarts, to become my eyes and ears at Hogwarts. Clearly, you've completely ignored me! Based on discussions at the Ministry of Magic's high-level meeting, you've been dismissed. Furthermore, because your overstepping of authority led to numerous casualties, you've been issued an expulsion order, permanently banished from Britain! I, the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts, and Britain no longer need you. Go, Bai Lin!"
Fudge no longer calls him Kaelin, and his so-called "Ministry of Magic high-level meeting" should refer to a meeting between him and Deputy Minister Umbridge.
Bai Lin realized he wasn't angry. It seemed that Europe had gained some peace for a while, and Fudge really didn't need him anymore. This outcome was, to some extent, predetermined.
He sighed, nodded to Fuji, and accepted the reality. He had originally planned to return to the East after dealing with things here, as that was where his roots were.
Unbeknownst to Bai Lin and Fudge, in a secret room on the Nth basement level of the Ministry of Magic, Umbridge, dressed in a pink uniform, stood amidst dozens of enormous glass jars. In the dim light, the jars contained a dark, unidentified liquid containing something that looked like the limbs of some creature.
In Umbridge's hand was a glass jar the size of a football, filled with pearl-like objects. Umbridge's expression was unusually excited, as if he were holding a priceless treasure.
