Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 225 A Silent Outbreak

"Don't hurt Dumbledore!" Yuci shouted. At the same time, her wand fired a Stunning Spell. The Hasturist who was casting mind magic on Dumbledore was hit by the Stunning Spell. With a sharp scream, the spell was interrupted, and he also suffered the backlash of mind magic, immediately feeling a headache.

Despite the headache, the Hastur cultist did not collapse unconscious like a human. Instead, he turned around abruptly and unleashed a "Mind Blast" on Yuxi, who was rushing towards him. An invisible energy instantly enveloped Yuxi, like a grenade thrown into her mind. This silent mental magic was enough to completely destroy the mind of an ordinary wizard, either turning him into a coma or a mindless idiot.

However, Yuxi was wearing several runes that resisted mind magic, so she wasn't instantly killed by a Hastur cultist's casual move. But it was still like being hit hard on the forehead with a baseball bat. She was instantly blinded, her surroundings became uncontrollable, and she collapsed to the ground. Her mind was a complete mess, and it would be difficult for her to recover without several days of rest.

The Hastur cultist let out a strange cry, as if he were sneering. He stretched out his long tentacles, trying to grab Yuxi. In his eyes, possessing the world's most powerful wizard and having a feast was a wonderful thing.

However, a bullet flew by so fast that it almost killed him without him even knowing why. But some kind of extremely strong stress response ability took effect. The bullet was slowed down by some kind of force field in front of his head, which was much larger than that of an ordinary person. It did not smash his head to pieces, but it still penetrated several inches into the back of his head, causing him to scream in pain once again.

He aimed in the direction the bullet had come from, his large, copper-bell-sized eyes emitting an eerie purple light. Kiki, who was in the distance and preparing to fire another shot through her scope, felt as if needles were piercing her eyes, causing her to cry out in pain. But she still pulled the trigger, and the bullet once again pierced a bloody hole in the Hastur cultist's forehead. Blue-purple blood flowed from the hole, splashing onto his hideous and terrifying face, enough to frighten any ordinary person.

Kiki covered her eyes, momentarily losing her fighting ability. Sphinx rushed over in time and took her away; otherwise, if the Hastur cultist had followed up with another Mind Blast, Kiki would have been in grave danger.

On the other side, Voldemort discovered that the teleportation spell had failed. Just as Bai Lin and Harry were preparing to press their advantage, Voldemort took a deep breath and roared into the air.

Harry felt an unprecedented fear wash over him, causing him to shiver involuntarily. The scar on his forehead felt like it had been branded with a red-hot iron, and the pain made him want to roll on the ground, clutching his head in agony.

However, what felt even worse was that all the Death Eaters present suddenly found that their bodies seemed to have lost control, as if they had suddenly become puppets. No matter how their brains directed them, their bodies seemed to be controlled by an invisible steel wire.

If they were merely being controlled, they would only feel fear, but the black magic energy that then surged within their bodies instilled in them extreme terror.

It is well known that if wizards are forced to suppress their magic due to physical or psychological abuse in their youth, they experience extreme emotional distress, creating a dark, parasitic magical power called an Obscurus, also known as inner demons in the East. Such young wizards are called Obscurians (demons), and Obscurians typically do not live past the age of 10 (though there are exceptions, such as Dumbledore's sister Ariana Grande who lived to 14, and Credence Byrburne who lived into middle age).

After 1929, the Obscurials almost disappeared from the world. Apart from Sun Xueli, whom Bai Lin met last year, there have been no other stories of Obscurials being born in adult wizards.

However, at this moment, all the Death Eaters discovered that a dark, frenzied, and uncontrollable magical energy was surging through their bodies, much like the legendary Obscurus, which was frantically absorbing their magic power to make itself stronger.

Meanwhile, Snape, the Order of the Phoenix who wore a wide-brimmed hood and had always been a major force in the Order, was horrified to discover that he had unknowingly fallen victim to a spell. The magic within him was rapidly transforming into Obscurus, and he could not control his face, lips, or eyelids, let alone stop it from happening.

Without thinking twice, Bai Lin unleashed an enhanced version of Frostbolt at Voldemort. He was prepared to Apparate to Voldemort's side and kill him with Orgrimmar's Fist or Jade Dragon, but he felt things weren't that simple. Voldemort must have a life-saving move or ultimate technique. As it turned out, Bai Lin's guess was correct. Voldemort's move not only affected the Death Eaters with the Dark Mark tattooed around him, but also indiscriminately controlled everyone within a few meters. If Bai Lin rashly approached, he might be outmaneuvered.

The members of the Order of the Phoenix and the Aurors looked at each other, wondering why the Death Eaters who were fighting them had suddenly turned into scarecrows (yes, that's how they saw them). They stopped casting spells, unsure how to handle the situation.

A young Auror was the first to react, casting a disarming charm on the nearest Death Eater. In any case, knocking the Death Eater's wand away was never a bad thing.

However, the Death Eaters who were hit did not drop their wands. Instead, it was as if they were sucking the energy of the disarming charm into their bodies like sucking jelly.

Under the horrified gazes of the Aurors, the Death Eater began to convulse and tremble violently. Even more terrifying, it looked as if countless insects had crawled into his face, and his muscles and skin were bulging and deforming in a bizarre way. Anyone who saw the sight felt as if ants were crawling all over them, and would probably have nightmares that night.

Just as everyone was at a loss, a large amount of black smoke billowed from the Death Eater's mouth, nostrils, eyes, and ears. Their bodies, like discarded clothes, were ripped off by the black smoke, slumped limply on the ground, and then turned into powder and dissipated into the air in a short while.

"Severus! No!" Lupin cried out in alarm. The members of the Order of the Phoenix turned their gazes to Snape, whose usually serious face began to crumble. He struggled to suppress the turbulent energy within him, but he felt it becoming increasingly difficult to control himself. His fingers trembled uncontrollably, and his eyes shifted from shock to despair, then to resentment. Finally, he looked with difficulty in Harry's direction, and Harry happened to be looking at him as well. Their eyes met in mid-air.

"No!" Harry also sensed Snape's abnormality and charged toward the Order of the Phoenix's camp.

But Snape had just said to Black and Lupin, who were not far away, "Protect him..." before he could finish speaking, black smoke began to spew from Snape's seven orifices. Before Harry could reach him, Snape had fallen to the ground with only a thin layer of skin and his black robe remaining.

"No! Severus! You can't!" Harry cried and knelt on the ground. Black hugged him tightly, while Lupin watched warily as the black smoke swirled in the air. It seemed to have its own consciousness, a primal consciousness that only knew destruction and killing. The once proud and talented half-blood prince had perished without warning.

Lupin shouted, "Retreat! The Dark Lord has turned all his minions into Obscurians!" He rushed to Tonks' side and shielded her behind him.

Voldemort laughed maniacally, his voice snorting like a boar's, and roared, "Voldemort's servants, offer all your power to your master! Hahahaha..."

One after another, the Death Eaters perished; some spewed black smoke from their orifices, others exploded to dust. Even the unconscious Malfoy couldn't escape. Perhaps their fate was sealed the moment they accepted Voldemort's summons and were teleported to Riddle Hall using the Dark Mark. Only Karkaroff, still at Hogwarts, hastily produced a crystal-clear potion bottle. After hesitating for about half a second, he drank it down in one gulp, then collapsed to the ground, black blood streaming from his eyes…

Black smoke began to swirl across the field, forming countless black whirlwinds in just a few seconds. Scrimgeour's expression changed drastically. Just as he was about to shout for the Aurors to retreat, the whirlwinds swept through the Auror crowd. Several young Aurors fell straight to their knees and collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

"WTF!" Bai Lin was almost devastated. He had arranged for Kiki to use anti-magic particles to stop Apparitions near Riddle House, originally to prevent Voldemort or the Death Eaters from escaping. But now it seemed that it wasn't Voldemort who was escaping, but the white wizards present.

"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" Bai Lin shouted at the Phoenix Society crowd, "Run upwind, then teleport away!"

People then realized what was happening, not knowing who was the first. The survivors no longer cared about whether they could kill Voldemort in one fell swoop and began to scatter and flee. They could no longer distinguish upwind or downwind. Most people felt that the situation was no longer something that ordinary wizards like them could control. Unless a god descended and Merlin was resurrected, the destructive power of so many Obscurians gathered together was unimaginable.

Voldemort first targeted Scrimgeour, the old Auror who had brought many Death Eaters to justice. Voldemort stretched out his now-blackened right hand and pointed in Scrimgeour's direction. A vortex of black smoke immediately swept over, and Scrimgeour was the first to be caught in the whirlwind. When the black smoke was gone, all that was left on the ground were Scrimgeour's robes and withered, blackened bones.

Another plume of black smoke shot towards Harry, but Black and Hagrid bravely stepped in front of him, with Hagrid shouting, "Protect yourself!"

Whether it was Hagrid's innate talent or the effectiveness of the equipment and runes he obtained from Old Addison, the black smoke was temporarily blocked by his protective spells and then rose into the sky.

Hagrid stared in astonishment at the protective spell he had activated. He hadn't expected it to block the Obscurus whirlwind's attack; he had just prepared himself to die.

"Dad!" Harry exclaimed in surprise. Black looked up and almost burst into tears. His friend James Potter's soul was hovering in mid-air, while Lily's soul was hovering on the other side. It was the timely appearance of the two souls that strengthened Hagrid's protective spell.

Bai Lin didn't have time to see Harry's protagonist aura erupt, because he hadn't forgotten that Dumbledore was still lying on the ground, his life hanging in the balance, and a Hasturist was lurking around.

However, when he rushed to Dumbledore's side, he was surprised to find that the Hastur cultists were unexpectedly staring intently at the figure in the center of the black whirlwind. Voldemort's huge pig head was inhaling black smoke into his nostrils and mouth, emitting a strange sound of pain and satisfaction.

"This is the most powerful wizard..." Hastur muttered. He looked like a child holding a cheap ice cream cone, who suddenly lost interest when he saw other children holding expensive brand-name ice cream. Seeing Voldemort's power and the endless flow of dark energy, Dumbledore was no longer his first choice.

This little-known Hastur follower seemed to have an idea: perhaps he could share the Earth with Grakua on equal footing, or perhaps he could replace Grakua and become the king of the Earth... Greed was like a restless seed; once it was born, it grew wildly in his heart.

He bypassed Dumbledore's body as if bypassing a pile of garbage, and walked towards Voldemort. Strangely, no Obscurus attacked him. Perhaps in the "eyes" of the Obscurus, he was no longer a living person, but a controlled walking corpse.

Bai Lin bypassed the Hastur cultists and arrived at Dumbledore's side. Old Dumbledore was sweating profusely from the Crucifixion Curse and seemed to have aged considerably. It was unclear whether it was superhuman willpower or magic that sustained him. With Bai Lin's help, he struggled to his feet. Seeing Voldemort inhaling the billowing black smoke into his body, Dumbledore frowned deeply.

"My two biggest regrets... one is that I caused Ariana's death... the other is that I failed to stop Tom from becoming Voldemort..." Dumbledore said suddenly, looking at Bai Lin.

Bai Lin whispered, "Principal, let's retreat. As long as we're alive, we can always rebuild!"

Dumbledore shook his head and said, "You once told me... Gellert (Grindelwald's name) didn't die, but was possessed by an evil spirit... probably like Suraya (the name of the witch who became a Hastur cultist)!"

Bai Lin was taken aback, but still nodded. He sensed a resolute intent in Dumbledore's tone, as if Dumbledore had already decided to die.

Dumbledore continued, "Even if his body isn't dead, his soul is probably no longer in this world... Kaelin White!" Dumbledore suddenly shouted sharply, startling Bai Lin.

"You're the only one who can save the world now!"
