Chapter 193 The End of the World

With a tap of the fingertip, one is instantly transported to the wonderful world at the end of the world in Chapter 193.

Ushuaia is a city in Argentina, a South American country. It is the capital of Tierra del Fuego and the city closest to Antarctica in the world, often referred to as the end of the world.

Ushuaia is 3200 kilometers from Buenos Aires, the capital of Indonesia, but only 800-1,000 kilometers from Antarctica. While a journey to Antarctica from Australia or New Zealand takes at least a week, a trip from Ushuaia across the Drake Passage takes only two days. Therefore, Ushuaia is an ideal starting point and resupply base for Antarctic exploration and research. It is arguably the southernmost inhabited place in the world.

This is a quiet, clean, and beautiful small town. The streets are narrow but very clean, and everywhere you look there are colorful wooden houses, like something out of a fairy tale. Because it is in the Southern Hemisphere, February is considered autumn for them, but because of the maritime climate, the temperature here is moderate, the air is fresh, and flowers bloom in front of and behind the houses, making it a paradise on earth.

At the pier on the shore of the Bilge Strait in Ushuaia, Lulu was gazing into the distance. This was the third day since she had sent a message to Bai Lin. She didn't know if Bai Lin could arrive on time. After all, it was too far from England to Ushuaia, and there was no reliable teleportation route. Lulu herself had transferred in North America and it had taken her nearly ten days to get to Ushuaia. But if she didn't set off soon, her target might disappear without a trace again.

Although she still had a lot of confidence in Bai Lin, Lulu couldn't help but feel nervous and anxious. The fried cod fillets and spider crab meat in front of her didn't seem appetizing at all.

Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice: "Such delicious seafood, it would be such a waste to let it get cold!"

Lulu turned around in surprise, and Bai Lin, wearing a casual shirt and gold-rimmed sunglasses, was not far behind her. The sunlight shone on his smiling face, making him look very handsome and unrestrained.

"Pfft," Lulu couldn't help but laugh at Bai Lin's attire, "Is this really your first time in South America? You look like a Colombian gangster!"

Lulu stood up and gave Bai Lin a warm hug without hesitation: "Thank you for coming! I know things are tough on your end too, but I really need your help!"

Bai Lin affectionately stroked Lulu's long, jet-black hair and said, "How could I bear to disappoint you?"

He recalled the last time at the Explorers' family gathering, when Lulu asked him to dance. He had initially intended to refuse, but Lulu showed him her back. She was wearing a very elegant and fashionable evening gown, revealing her fair and jade-like skin. Lulu asked him, "Cousin, how can you bear to let those stinky men touch my waist?" At that moment, Bai Lin glanced at several young men not far away who were clearly heading towards Lulu, and he was speechless...

Bai Lin prided himself on not being a novice in love, but Lulu always managed to have him completely under her thumb. Even if they hadn't seen each other for a long time and hadn't been in contact, as soon as they met, it was as if a long-suppressed emotion was about to burst out. If he weren't thinking about the two women waiting for him at Hogwarts, he probably would have already given Lulu a passionate French kiss.

Lulu didn't act as brazenly towards Bai Lin as before. Instead, she hugged him briefly and then let go. A troubled look crossed her face. She asked anxiously, "Have you gotten the magic ship yet? If not, we'll have to go in my icebreaker. The target is enormous and probably has dangerous abilities beyond our imagination. Muggle ships are just too fragile..."

Bai Lin gave an OK sign and said, "I was a little late just to familiarize myself with how to operate the magic ship. It's definitely the best magic ship in Europe right now, but it's not very convenient to show up in Muggle ports."

"Wow, you got your hands on the Diana? My goodness, that's Durmstrang's prized possession!" Lulu exclaimed excitedly. "The Diana is big enough that my entire combat team can participate!"

Lulu clearly didn't intend to fight the infamous ancient monsters alone. Instead, she was doing her best to gather like-minded wizards or bounty hunters to fight the Church of Hastur to the death. Compared to Lulu's active preparations, Bai Lin felt like he was just a bystander, which made him feel a little embarrassed.

Actually, it's not entirely his fault. After all, he was just an ordinary college student who transmigrated to this world. When he first arrived, he was powerless, penniless, and had no one to guide him on how to live in this wizarding world. Lulu, on the other hand, had been raised from a young age to be the heir of the Ross family and the saintess of the Inquisitor (Neutral Order) faction. Her resources and strategic awareness were naturally far superior to Bai Lin's.

"Although it's a bit of a rush, we can't waste good food. Let's set off before dark!" Lulu felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders and relaxed considerably. Tracking "Zemuers" involved taking on enormous risks, and this might be their last proper dinner.

For this reason, Bai Lin only brought Zhuo Bi and Qi Qi. To be honest, Bai Lin wasn't very confident about fighting in the sea, but he couldn't let the two women see his worries. He entrusted the arrangements for the third match to Hagrid, Yu Qian, and Catherine. If he couldn't return on time, he hoped they could stop Voldemort's plot.

Bai Lin spent a wild night with two women last night, but quietly left in the early morning.

Although it was already autumn, tourists continued to flock to Ushuaia, marveling at its beautiful scenery. The small post office on the street corner was packed with people who loved to buy a stamp with "The End of the World" printed on it to attach to postcards and send to friends back home.

After Bai Lin and Lulu had dinner, Lulu also dragged him along and bought some exquisite stamps and postcards.

Lulu secretly wrote a postcard behind Bai Lin's back and dropped it into the mailbox. Bai Lin, however, thought of his parents and Yan Nishuang in his hometown in the East. The thrilling experience of the second competition, in which he almost lost his life, made him very attached to his family in his hometown. The wonderful atmosphere at the end of the world gave him many insights into his life.

He wrote a letter to his parents, saying that he had finished his business in England and would return to China to develop his career. Immediately afterwards, he wrote another letter to Yan Nishuang, containing only a few lines of a poem he had composed himself:

The deer seeks the fragrant herbs, roaming freely in the wild.

Longing for my homeland, I find even more exquisite jade than I could ever find.

Deer seeks the fragrant herbs, sailing lightly in a distant boat.

When I think of my homeland, the days feel like three autumns.

On the surface, it expresses longing for one's homeland, but how could Yan Nishuang not see that Bai Lin is longing for the beauty of his homeland?

As dusk fell, fishing boats returned to port one after another. Locals hummed tunes and talked about the Argentine football match, gathering in roadside taverns. Meanwhile, Bai Lin and Lulu quietly boarded a small boat and left the beautiful bay of Ushuaia.

Lulu skillfully and smoothly steered the small boat away from the bustling civilian dock, passing by the world-famous Tierra del Fuego National Geopark in the distance. Lulu joked, "Argentina has the famous Moreno Glacier, which is worth a visit, but considering we're about to go to a colder place, I won't take you to see the glacier."

Soon Bai Lin saw the icebreaker Lulu had mentioned. It was a steel behemoth, nearly 100 meters long, with an estimated displacement of over 10,000 tons, and flying the Russian flag.

"The Ross family managed to borrow this ship with great difficulty thanks to some... Muggle connections. Although it's not the most advanced icebreaker, it's enough to safely take the research team to Antarctica. But even so, if we're going to conduct underwater warfare, this ship is practically a sitting duck. Gracoa could easily punch a huge hole in the hull, or Zemour could capsize the entire ship. In that case, we'd have to rely on wizards wearing Bubble Head Charms to fight the monsters," Lulu said with a hint of helplessness.

They boarded the icebreaker, which was now completely under the control of Lulu's wizards and staff. Bai Lin was startled at first glance; Lulu had brought at least a thousand people with her this time, and he couldn't help but marvel at Lulu's abilities once again.

Seeing Bai Lin's surprised look, Lulu explained to him, "This is a mixed team of wizards and Muggles, mostly Muggle researchers and crew. I'll assemble a combat squad immediately, hoping your Diana will also open their eyes."

Bai Lin grinned, and only after Lulu had assembled a fighting force of nearly two hundred people did he summon the "Angry Diana" on the sea.

Amidst the admiring gazes of the crowd, countless bubbles began to rise on the calm sea, as if the seawater had been boiled. Then, a long mast burst out of the water, followed by tattered sails adorned with skull patterns and a dark, old hull. Its shape resembled that of the legendary ghost ship that roamed the Caribbean Sea, and was very similar to the Flying Dutchman from the movie. The dilapidated keel and steel plates at the bow resembled a large mouth holding a cannon.

This is a ship-mounted magic cannon. Normally, Karkaroff would use the Diana's camouflage to conceal it, but today, since we're going to sea for combat, there's no need to hide it.

The combat squad and Muggle crew on the icebreaker exclaimed in disbelief, and some religious crew members even took out their crosses to pray.

However, Bai Lin's expression was not smug. Instead, he was stunned when he saw the people on the deck.

Besides Drabi, Kiki, and Phineas, three other figures were seen on the deck: Harry, Hermione, and Krum. Hermione and Harry were looking at Bai Lin with a smug expression, their faces showing signs of having successfully pulled off a trick.

Zhuo Bi, on the deck, shrugged at Bai Lin, indicating that he had only just discovered that the three boys were hiding on the ship.

Bai Lin immediately understood. It must have been Krum who told Hermione that he was coming to the Diana, and Hermione told Harry. So the three curious kids hid on the ship in advance. For Durmstrang's darling, Krum, this should have been a piece of cake.

Bai Lin flashed and appeared on the deck of the Diana. Zhuo Bi moved his mouth as if to say something, but Bai Lin waved his hand, indicating that it was not necessary, as the situation was already obvious.

"Professor, this isn't our fault," Hermione stepped forward and grabbed Bai Lin's arm. "Look, you kicked all the Durmstrang students off the ship and made Headmaster Karkaroff go to Dumbledore to borrow dormitories. That was a huge move; it's impossible for us not to know!"

Harry said, "Professor, we won't hold you back. We've had some really exciting adventures too..." Bai Lin rolled his eyes, but there was clearly no time to send them back now.

Krum, however, hit the nail on the head, saying, "I'm skilled in underwater warfare and piloting the Diana. If you're going to deal with a deep-sea behemoth, you'll probably really need my help."

Bai Lin stepped forward and patted Krum on the shoulder. Although this young man didn't talk much and didn't seem very smart, Bai Lin knew that he was a good guy. He had muscles, courage, and a strong sense of justice. He was simply the perfect teammate for him.

"Tell me quickly, Professor! What are you going to deal with? Sirens? Or Megalodon?" Hermione asked excitedly. After getting to know Bai Lin, it seems that this quiet, academic girl has also started to take the adventurous route.

Lulu led the wizards onto the ship slowly. Without any hesitation, under her command, the wizards quickly "took over" the Diana. Everyone was assigned a job on the ship by Lulu, and the efficiency was extremely high, as if they had rehearsed many times. Finally, two wizards carried a whole box of "magic crystals," which was the power source of the magic ship, showing that Lulu had made ample preparations since the last gathering.

Lulu even pulled out a captain's hat with a skull on it and put it on, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, are we ready to begin our journey?"

Krum looked at Bai Lin with a questioning gaze, and Bai Lin shrugged and said, "Don't look at me. The ship has been handed over to her now, and she's in charge."

"If there are no objections, hoist the sails! Weigh anchor!" Lulu said as she walked to the helm, pulled out a very steampunk-style device from her pocket, set the direction with the moon, and the furious Diana slowly started up and headed south.

The wizard, remaining on the icebreaker, addressed the Muggle crew members who had crowded onto the deck to watch the spectacle: "Everyone! Today has been amazing! Please look this way, I'm going to take a group photo to commemorate these magical days, so you can all go home and brag to your relatives and friends about this incredible experience!"

The Muggle crew cheered and looked at the wizard, who took out a camera-like device, pressed a button, and a bright light instantly illuminated the entire deck of the icebreaker, erasing all the Muggle crew members' memories of that night.

The Diana sailed south at full speed, quickly exceeding twenty knots. Krum walked up to Lulu. Although it was the first time he had seen Lulu, this beautiful and cool young lady was simply too attractive to young men. He took the initiative to help Lulu take the helm and told her that underwater navigation was the only way to reach the maximum speed.

"Professor, you haven't said what monster we're going to fight yet!" Hermione said, clinging to Bai Lin's arm like a koala.

"Zemu's...it also has another name, the Kraken," Bai Lin said.
