Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 185 has more to come.

Bai Lin was shocked, but the Water Shield was quite effective, blocking the venom directly outside the shield's range. Bai Lin saw that the sea snake had black and white stripes around its body, which looked exactly like the Australian Ekidna sea snake, the second most venomous animal on Earth in his previous life. It was only dozens of times larger, but in terms of venom, it was probably even more venomous than the Ekidna sea snake. Even if it wasn't inhaled into the lungs or injected into the body, just touching the skin would probably cause Bai Lin serious damage.

"Shadow Arrow!" Bai Lin threw the glowing light in his hand into the water. The glowing light would remain for about a minute after it left his hand, and Bai Lin wanted to end the battle within that minute. He first aimed a Shadow Arrow at the sea serpent's neck. The serpent's head was quite agile, but the sea serpent's neck was a much larger target.

The Shadow Arrow's effect was not diminished in the water, and it shot out and hit the sea serpent's neck. However, the expected tearing of flesh did not occur. After a puff of black smoke, the sea serpent was almost unharmed.

"WTF! Your magic resistance is so high! I'm going to skin you alive!" Bai Lin cursed.

The sea serpent tilted its head and bit at Bai Lin's legs. Bai Lin quickly somersaulted forward, pulled his legs back, and swung the Orgrimmar Fist at the sea serpent's head again.

Magical effects like Shadow Bolt are unaffected by water resistance, but physical attacks like Orgrim's Fist are much slower. The sea serpent nimbly twisted its head, dodging Orgrim's fist, and bit at White Scale's shoulder.

Bai Lin was shocked. If it bit him, there was no point in fighting; he would be done for. No wonder "Old Barty" had arranged for a sea serpent to deal with him after he killed the two-headed night shadow dragon. This showed how confident he was in the sea serpent.

With its large size, high magic resistance, and extremely agile movements, coupled with its venom's area-of-effect attack capabilities, this sea serpent was virtually invincible in this narrow underwater passage. Even though Bai Lin possessed a wide variety of dark magic techniques and summoned beasts, he lacked a powerful aquatic combat weapon. While creatures like the Longhorn Dragon, Thunderbird, and Snowwind were clearly capable of underwater battles, and if the Mist Eel could be summoned, it might be able to rival the sea serpent, Bai Lin, at this moment, had no other option but to flee for its life.

Bai Lin gritted his teeth and instantly used Phantom Shift to avoid the sea serpent's gaping maw. His figure instantly appeared nearly thirty meters away, teleporting to the sea serpent's tail. However, Bai Lin immediately discovered that after teleporting, the Water Source Shield and the Fist of Orgrimmar disappeared, and the powerful water pressure made him choke on a mouthful of water.

Bai Lin felt dizzy and his nose was sore and painful. However, this was a critical moment. If Bai Lin's will weakened even slightly, he would probably be devoured by the snake.

Bai Lin, a veteran of countless battles with an iron will, immediately sealed his mouth and nose, and in the dark waterway, he once again used Phantom Shift, causing the sea serpent to temporarily lose its target.

After teleporting, Bai Lin quickly cast the Mermaid's Blessing again. Once the Mermaid's phantom possessed him once more and the Water Shield opened again, Bai Lin finally took a deep breath. Those few dozen seconds had been like going back and forth between heaven and hell for him. From his nasal cavity to his lungs, from his brain to his spine, not a single part of his body ached enough to make him faint, but he managed to pull through.

After briefly losing sight of its target, the sea serpent clearly noticed Bai Lin appearing behind it. Despite its enormous size, it nimbly twisted its head in the relatively narrow waterway and chased after Bai Lin.

"Damn it, it's got me!" Bai Lin cursed as he swam forward with all his might. When he first entered the water, he had been commenting on the swimming speed of the other swimmers, but now he felt like he was banging his backside against a motor; his 300 km/h speed was clearly no match for the sea serpent's agility. Although he didn't look back, Bai Lin could tell from the sound of the water behind him that the sea serpent was getting closer and closer.

"My God!" Bai Lin gasped for breath, exerting every ounce of his strength. Although the underwater passage was rugged and winding, it was still quite spacious. He didn't know how far he had swum when suddenly, Bai Lin felt the space around him become extremely large. He had already arrived in another underground space from the underwater passage.

It turned out that Black Lake led to another underground lake. Bai Lin disregarded everything else and swam desperately towards the surface. Before long, he actually surfaced. The surface was clearly no longer Black Lake, but a huge underground space. Dozens of meters high, there was a natural dome formed of rock, with sharp, spiky stone bells hanging down. The dome was covered with glowing moss, illuminating the entire underground space.

Before Bai Lin could catch his breath, a tremendous sense of danger came from beneath him. The sea serpent had already followed closely, its funnel-shaped maw opening wide as it swirled around Bai Lin from below, a powerful suction force emanating from beneath his feet.

"You want to devour me? I'll stuff you to death first!" Bai Lin coldly shouted, "Grow bigger now!"

He certainly didn't use the enlargement spell on the sea serpent, but rather on the Jade Dragon Sword in his hand. As the sea serpent below lunged at him, the Jade Dragon Sword, enhanced by Bai Lin's hundred points of magic power, had already grown to nearly five meters long and more than half a meter wide. Bai Lin simply hugged the enlarged sword hilt and sank into the water.

The sea serpent swallowed it whole, immediately putting on a show of swallowing a sword. The sharp blade pierced its lower jaw and cut its throat. The sea serpent was in pain and quickly stopped swallowing. Instead, it bit down on Bai Lin's feet, which really startled him.

"Damn it, I was just ten centimeters away from losing my foot," Bai Lin muttered to himself. But then, the stench of the sea snake's blood gushed from its throat, instantly staining the surrounding lake water red.

The sea serpent, injured, began to frantically twist its head, trying to fling Bai Lin and the huge sword out of its mouth. Bai Lin held his breath tightly. Although he was dizzy from being shaken by the sea serpent, he clung to the sword hilt and refused to let go.

The enlargement spell only lasts for a short while on this metal object (otherwise the wizards could have turned the gold coins into mountains of gold and spent them all...). But even in that short while, the sea serpent was writhing wildly, making its wounds grow larger and larger, and blood was flowing out of the sea serpent's wounds as if it were free.

Finally, the sea serpent's movements slowed down and its strength diminished. Bai Lin quickly cast a head-soaking spell on himself, took a deep breath, and opened his eyes. Not far from him, in the blood-filled water, the sea serpent's orange-yellow, bloodshot eyes were staring intently at him, but the sea serpent's fangs could not reach Bai Lin's feet no matter what.

"Summon Shadow Chains!" Bai Lin shouted. Although the sea serpent seemed exhausted from blood loss, he had seen people soak snakes in alcohol for a year before opening it.

News of people being bitten to death by venomous snakes that weren't quite dead yet was common. During his travels, he had also seen snakes with their skin peeled off and internal organs removed, still mechanically opening their mouths to bite things—a truly terrifying sight. Therefore, Bai Lin dared not let his guard down. Just before the enlargement spell wore off, he summoned dozens of dark chains to tightly bind the sea snake's upper and lower jaws, rendering it unable to move.

"Seal!" Bai Lin used a sealing skill on the sea serpent whose head was already firmly locked, but the summoning encyclopedia indicated: Seal failed. The target did not voluntarily accept the seal and has not yet lost its ability to move.

Bai Lin was stunned. He hadn't expected that the seal he was so skilled at would fail. He had forgotten when the last time he failed was.

Just as Bai Lin was preparing to deliver a finishing blow, a sudden, rapid current of water swept towards him. Bai Lin quickly raised his sword to block it. It turned out to be a huge, flat snake tail sweeping across like a truck crashing into him. Bai Lin used all his strength to block the snake tail, but the difference in strength was too great. His body was directly slapped away like a basketball. Bai Lin felt as if he were being lifted out of the water and into the air. He felt a "crack" from the bone in his arm that was blocking his body. Even if it wasn't broken, it was still a sprained tendon, and Bai Lin grimaced in pain.

While still in mid-air, Bai Lin quickly waved his hand and shouted, "Summon the Thunder Bird!"

A dark brown thunderbird with gold-edged feathers swooped out, and just as Bai Lin was about to fall back into the water, its talons gripped his two arms with just the right amount of force.

"With so much blood, I'll grind you to death!" Bai Lin lit the glow again, looking at the large clumps of blood in the lake. He knew that the sea serpent was seriously injured. His arms were in excruciating pain, but the bones should not be broken, so it did not affect his movement.

The Thunderbird raised its head and let out a long cry, carrying the white scales into the air more than ten meters high, to avoid being caught off guard by the sea serpent's sudden leap out of the water.

However, Bai Lin quickly realized the sea snake's predicament, because the smell of blood had attracted other predators. Whether they were fish or some kind of amphibian, countless black shadows, tens of centimeters long, surged out from all directions and frantically tore at the sea snake's flesh.

As the saying goes, "many ants can kill an elephant." Normally, these small carnivores are just snacks for sea snakes. But now the sea snake is seriously injured. The sword has pierced its jaw, throat, and esophagus, exposing large pieces of flesh. The foul-smelling blood has aroused the carnivores' bloodthirsty nature, and they have all rushed to attack the sea snake without regard for their lives.

Driven by instinct, the sea snake successfully killed several dark, strange fish, but the wound on its neck was being torn apart by dozens of other fish, creating an extremely bloody and cruel scene.

This sea serpent, with its enormous size, must have been at least several hundred years old. It had always been invincible and had devoured countless powerful creatures. But now, under the attack of the bloodthirsty fish, it could only let out a pitiful wail.

"Since things have come to this... why not accept my seal!" Bai Lin coldly shouted down, then activated the seal again towards the sea serpent.

The sea serpent's eyes gleamed with resentment. It faced the choice of being torn apart by the swarm of fish or sealed away by its enemies. But in the end, it unexpectedly made a rational choice. Its massive body transformed into a stream of light and vanished into the water, merging into Bai Lin's summoning encyclopedia. It left behind hundreds upon hundreds of black, monstrous fish thrashing wildly in the water, searching for their vanished prey.

"Aha, solved!" Bai Lin didn't have time to look at the illustration guide's hints because he had already made a new discovery. On the lake not far away, there was a huge rock protruding from the water, forming a small island. In the very center of the island, there was a figure that seemed to be tied to an iron pillar.

At Bai Lin's command, the Thunderbird lowered its body and carried Bai Lin to the small island.

The bound figure drew closer, but Bai Linque grew increasingly alarmed, for he recognized her immediately. Though her head was drooping and her long hair obscured her face, Bai Linque recognized her as Catherine, whom he hadn't seen for some time.

Bai Lin cursed inwardly. He hadn't expected that even though he had broken up with Catherine, Old Barty still hadn't let her go. This proved that Old Barty had thoroughly investigated Bai Lin's past in order to deal with him. It was likely that Catherine, who had helped him deal with the Death Eaters many times, would not escape his revenge.

Bai Lin landed lightly on the island and first stretched his arms. Although Thunderbird was very careful, he had suffered a severe muscle strain in the battle with the sea serpent, and his arms were burning with pain.

He ran quickly toward Catherine, when suddenly he had a premonition of danger. He didn't know where he got the courage, but he rolled on the spot, and a stream of emerald green energy grazed his head and shot into the air.

He fell to the ground, only then hearing a strange voice shout, "Hawaii Five-Starred Descent!"

A tall figure emerged from a large rock, a dark wizard who looked remarkably like a Viking, his face scarred, a corner of his lip missing, and his expression fierce. His left hand gripped an old, brown wand, and his right hand held a massive axe. Clearly, Old Barty had a backup plan after the sea serpent incident.

Objectively speaking, however, this follow-up move wasn't very clever. He had been waiting on this dark island for a day and a night. As a ruthless killer, his patience had been completely worn out. Otherwise, if he had waited until Bai Lin ran to Catherine's side to untie her ropes before making his move, Bai Lin would have had no chance to dodge.

But there are no "what ifs" in this world. Bai Lin rolled on the spot and hid behind a large rock.

"Crush to pieces!" the burly man roared, and the large rock in front of Bai Lin instantly shattered into fragments.

However, Bai Lin, braving the flying shards of stone, cast a spell at the Viking giant: "Dispel your weapon!"

A beam of bright red magical energy shot out, but the Viking giant was surprisingly agile, and Bai Lin's aim wasn't very good either, so he ducked and dodged it.

"Heart-Rending Curse!" The Viking giant showed no mercy, unleashing a Heart-Rending Curse on Bai Lin.

"Faint and fall to the ground!" Bai Lin's stun spell was also cast at the same time, and the two magical energies clashed in the air, instantly creating a scene from a movie where internal strength was being tested.

Although the Viking giant had committed countless evils and was ruthless, his magic power was only around 60 or 70. How could he possibly be a match for Bai Lin? However, although he looked like a brute, he was not stupid at all. At the crucial moment, he actually threw away his wand and hid behind a large rock.

"Hey kid! If you're a man, fight me for real!"
