Chapter 133 Lulu's Investigation Report

The 1994 Quidditch World Cup was held in England and lasted for two months. In the original story, Harry was invited by Ron's family to watch the final match in August. It was also after the final match that the Death Eaters attacked the campsite.

However, the wizarding world that Bai Lin lives in is no longer just a world with Voldemort as a potential danger, but is full of uncertainties.

Bai Lin and Lulu had previously guessed that the Spellbreakers would cause trouble, but now it seems that the Church of Hastur is a bigger threat. After all, the Spellbreakers could at most throw bombs or shoot people with guns, and at worst the Ministry of Magic could just get some Muggle equipment and shoot each other. But the Church of Hastur is different; it can spread like wildfire, like a plague. If they start causing trouble in a stadium with 100,000 people, that would be terrible!

Upon returning to London, Bai Lin had Zhuo Bi create a separate mirror space. Inside, he opened the booklet Lulu had given him, which contained Lulu's investigation report. Only then did Bai Lin understand why Lulu had inexplicably gone to America.

The booklet states:

I hope you opened this in a secluded place. I've discovered that Church H is already influencing many ordinary people in ways we can't comprehend. Our written and verbal communications must be kept highly confidential.

Forgive me for not telling you before I went to America; the situation was somewhat urgent.

That person seems to have a very important mission and isn't fully focused on spreading the message. (Lulu uses "H Church" and "that person" to refer to the Hastur Church and the evil spirit Gracchus, to avoid triggering hypnosis if seen by someone who might be influenced.)

He seems to have found a clue in America. I discovered that he seems very interested in American Antarctic research vessels, and I suspect that his target is Antarctica.

The American Ministry of Magic adopted my report and launched a manhunt for him. Although he was not very strong at the moment, he still managed to escape and infiltrate the Atlantic Ocean.

I will join your team after we meet.

Starting from the second page, it's Lulu's itinerary. After a few words, Bai Lin can feel the intensity of her battles in America and the power of the Hastur cultists, which Bai Lin has personally experienced. Moreover, Lulu is going to deal with the evil spirit Graccia, the second demon king who possesses Grindelwald's body.

However, through Lulu's words, Bai Lin discovered that Grakua did not seem to be much stronger than ordinary Hastur cultists. This could explain several things: either Grakua's abilities had not been fully unleashed and he was looking for something that could unleash them, such as a treasure; or Grakua was trying to find a way to bring more minions of the Great Old Ones to this Earth, like the Dark Portal in World of Warcraft.

Whatever Gracua is looking for, his return will surely be accompanied by a raging storm.

"Sigh, it seems I need to speed things up and take care of one enemy first. Otherwise, with Voldemort, Gracoa, and the Spellbreaker causing trouble one after another, no one can stand it!" Bai Lin said to his two teammates.

Zhuo Bi finally figured out the team system after a whole day. Last time in the dungeon, he didn't have his wand and was forced to become an AFK teammate. Now that he had retrieved his wand, he looked eager to try it out: "Boss... uh, Captain, don't worry, next time we encounter those monsters, I'm confident I can teach them a lesson!"

Bai Lin patted him on the shoulder and said, "Be prepared at any time. There will be a time for you to show your skills."

After exiting the mirror space, Bai Lin was thinking about how to get some tickets to the Quidditch World Cup opening ceremony when the ticket delivery person came to his door.

The hotel lobby manager called to tell Bai Lin that a gentleman was waiting for him in the lobby.

Bai Lin arrived at the lobby with some suspicion and saw a man in a khaki shirt smoking a pipe in a corner of the lobby's reception area. He had a distinctive onion-shaped nose and was none other than Bai Lin's old acquaintance, Auror Laut.

"I hope I haven't bothered you... Hehe, vacation." Lauter said with a smile, his tone teasing, clearly aware of Bai Lin's predicament: being suspended by Fudge and then expelled from the French Ministry of Magic.

Bai Lin shrugged, gestured to the waiter, ordered a cup of black tea, and gave Lau a glass of whiskey. Bai Lin could tell from Lau's nose that he was definitely a connoisseur of alcohol.

"Just a little bit, hehe, I'm still at work... This wine is pretty good..." Lauter said as he drank, and then asked the waiter to pour him another glass.

"We're already so familiar with each other, just say what you want to say!" Bai Lin dismissed the waiter and picked up the wine bottle himself.

"You've gone off to France to have a good time, and I heard you've made quite a few Galleons... The Ministry of Magic is swamped with work... The Minister has asked me to recruit you back to help out."

Lauter paused for a moment and said, "For the Quidditch World Cup, the Ministry of Magic deployed more than 500 wizards. The opening ceremony this weekend is also the time of greatest security pressure. The Auror Office is extremely short-staffed. Director Scrimgeour has formed a temporary team—the World Cup Security Team. Minister Fudge was the first to recommend you... Pour me some more..."

"Um, joining this security team... means I don't need to buy a ticket, right?"

"What?"

"It's my duty to share the burden for the ministry. I also have two assistants who don't need to be paid; consider them volunteers!" Bai Lin said with a smile.

"You seem to have some less-than-peaceful plans again..." Lauter glanced at Bai Lin, recalling his previous experience helping him deal with Dementors and Death Eaters.

"I do have some concerns, but don't worry, we have the same goal..." Bai Lin clinked his teacup against Lauter's wine glass.

"I'll be keeping an eye on you, Kelling. I also hope you can consider me a friend. Be sure to tell me if you have any news." Lauter stopped drinking his whiskey and looked at Bai Lin with some wariness.

"Since you're interested, I do have a plan..." Bai Lin smiled like a little fox.

The Quidditch World Cup stadium was built on the upper reaches of the Thames, in Dartmoor, Devon, in a valley behind a forest. More than 500 employees of the Ministry of Magic worked for a whole year to build a huge stadium that could hold 100,000 spectators. Its scale was so grand that it far surpassed any Muggle stadium.

Of course, such a huge stadium would be so expensive that even the wealthy British Ministry of Magic couldn't afford two. Therefore, all the matches of a World Cup would be held in this one stadium, and it would be completely dismantled after the games to avoid affecting the Muggle world.

Outside the stadium, there is a camping area that stretches as far as the eye can see. In addition to the players' zones from various countries, there are also many fans who come to watch the games. Although wizards have very convenient ways to travel, many people still take two whole months to live near the stadium, not wanting to miss any of the matches.
