Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 126 Unusual Changes on the Field

In reality, the view from inside the stadium to the stands is obscured by magic cast on the barrier, making it impossible to see the thousands of spectators. However, the venomous leopard seems to possess some unknown ability, sensing countless "food" nearby, which makes it excited and reveals its ferocity.

The venomous leopard eventually set its sights on the twins a few hundred feet away, after all, they were the easy prey. Its orange-yellow leopard eyes were fixed on the two, and there was even a hint of human emotion in its gaze.

Bai Lin had a bad feeling; this venomous leopard didn't seem to be a wild beast.

The venomous leopard jumped down from the large iron cabinet and disappeared from the long grassland in the blink of an eye.

Although the audience has a god's-eye view and can see the venomous leopard's movements in the grass, the twins completely lose sight of their target.

"Use that trick!" George shouted.

Fred pulled a handful of chocolate frogs from his pocket and threw them one by one into the grass. Each time he threw one, George would enlarge it.

Bai Lin was furious; these two kids had learned all his tricks.

Soon, five or six giant chocolate frogs, each about knee-high, began leaping in all directions, eliciting screams and laughter from the audience.

Although frogs are not as tall as the hairy grass, they jump up in a regular pattern and peek their heads out from above the tall grass.

"Over there!" Fred called out. He pointed in a direction where a chocolate frog stopped hopping. George immediately pointed his wand in that direction: "Blazing Inferno!"

Bai Lin nodded to the twins. In this grassland setting, fire was the best way to deal with the venomous leopard. The wizard could use the Fire Condensation Spell to protect himself, so he wouldn't be afraid even if the entire area was burned down. However, on the African savanna, such arson was still somewhat immoral.

The half-dried, yellowed, pointed grass ignites instantly, creating a fire. Even if it doesn't burn the venomous leopard, it can reduce its hiding places, making it an important tactical concept to keep the enemy always in your sight.

"Over there!" Fred pointed in another direction, clearly indicating that the venomous leopard was constantly moving.

George cast another Fireball spell, igniting the sharp-haired grass there. After several such spells, flames had spread rapidly around the two of them, but because there was no wind within the barrier, the fires did not spread very quickly.

The twins quickly realized the problem: while the surrounding fires threatened the venomous leopard's movements, they also obstructed their vision.

"Go!" Fred shouted, and the two of them ran straight toward the large metal cabinet. The audience gasped, guessing their intention: they planned to climb onto the top of the cabinet to have a commanding view.

Bai Lin saw through their tactic—they were bait for each other. The two maintained a certain distance and acted as bait to lure out the Poison Leopard for the other. This way, if one of them was attacked, he could immediately teleport away using their teleportation ability, and the other could then attack the exposed Poison Leopard.

Bai Lin shook his head, feeling worried for the twins. They had clearly underestimated the speed and defense of the venomous leopard. Although there were records that a wizard once kept a venomous leopard, using a stun spell to knock it unconscious every day when he returned home and restoring it to its original state when he left, in order to serve as a guard dog.

The story seems to reveal that the leopard is afraid of the Stunning Curse, but in the end, wasn't the wizard still knocked out by the leopard? Bai Lin highly doubts that the twins' half-baked 35 points of magic power are enough to knock the leopard unconscious with one blow.

As expected, their wishful thinking completely failed. The venomous leopard suddenly pounced out, but instead of attacking one of them, it jumped between them and spewed out a large amount of light green poisonous mist.

"Fainted!" "Fainted!" The two reacted extremely quickly, simultaneously unleashing a lightning-like burst of energy at the Poison Leopard.

Despite being hit by two stun spells, the venomous leopard remained surprisingly unaffected, instead running around the two while spewing poison gas.

"Oh no! It's completely immune to the Stun Curse!" Fred exclaimed.

"Watch out for the poison gas! Get out of here!" George shouted.

The two disappeared at the same time, and the next moment, they appeared above the large iron cabinet. However, they were horrified to find that the other party's head-bubbling curse had been mixed with a trace of green poison gas.

Bai Lin was also startled, immediately recalling their experience in the pyramids. Although the Bubble Head Curse could magically condense some air around the head, there was no strong barrier between the bubble and the outside air. That's why they couldn't completely isolate themselves from the anti-magic particles in the pyramids, and the twins couldn't use it to isolate themselves from the poison gas either.

The twins quickly tried to break the head-bubbling curse, but it was too late. They felt a stinging pain in their eyes and nasal cavities and began to feel weak all over.

The venomous leopard leaped from the grass and jumped toward the large iron cabinet, where the twins were already teetering on the brink of collapse.

"Danger!" shouted a fairy wizard in charge of perimeter defense. Dozens of fairy wizards floated up and jumped onto the battle platform, trying to rescue the twins who were about to be devoured by the leopard.

But the fairy wizards rushed into the battle arena. The venomous leopard had already pounced on the twins. The two were still wearing armor to protect them, so they wouldn't be killed with a single slap, but they were already powerless to resist, and blood was already seeping from their mouths and noses.

Instead of continuing its attack on the twins, the venomous leopard suddenly raised its head towards the fairy wizard who had rushed in.

Its eyes suddenly emitted a deep purple light, profound and mysterious, like two sparkling amethysts. Bai Lin was utterly astonished by this sight, for this couldn't possibly be the ability of the Venomous Leopard. The system also issued a notification:

A venomous leopard infected with Hasta yellow mark was detected. Hazard level: ? ?

"WTF!" Bai Lin wanted to curse. He had taken every precaution, but the venomous leopard participating in the beast arena had somehow managed to bypass the audience and infect the zoo island through the "back door."

Under the gleam of the leopard's eyes, more than thirty fairy wizards seemed to be petrified, frozen in mid-air, completely still.

The audience was stunned, not knowing what had happened, and looked at each other in disbelief.

At that moment, Bai Lin snatched the microphone from Patrice and shouted, "Everyone, evacuate immediately! Evacuate immediately!"

However, all the spectators, including Patrice, looked at him in bewilderment, showing no intention of leaving, but instead began to make a noisy commotion.

Bai Lin was speechless. The wizards had obviously never received any emergency drills, such as fire drills. When they heard the danger warning, they were completely at a loss, and even seemed to be saying, "Are you going to run or not? If you don't run, I won't run either!"

Bai Lin angrily threw down the microphone, drew his longsword, and took out a flying broom. Flying brooms were prohibited in the arena, but at this point, it was clearly no longer a normal match.
