Chapter 115 One Against Eight

Although the Chimera looks strange, it is not an unintelligent creature. After several explosions, it seemed a bit disheveled. But just as the doctor got within twenty feet and was about to cast a stun spell to end the battle, it swiftly dodged away the moment it shouted the spell and swept its long and powerful dragon tail at the doctor's legs.

Seeing the dragon's tail coming at him with overwhelming force, the doctor realized that his armor could not guarantee effective protection. He had no choice but to abandon his attack and instead used his wand to teleport dozens of feet away.

Chimera missed its target with a single sweep, but quickly located the doctor's teleportation point and pounced on it.

The doctor had barely steadied himself when he saw a huge dark shadow descend from the sky. Given Chimera's size and jumping ability, a few dozen feet would be nothing more than a single leap.

The doctor had planned to cast a petrification spell on Chimera after teleporting, but even though he was very skilled at teleportation, he still had to spend a fraction of a second figuring out the location and direction when he arrived at a new location. By the time he could see Chimera's figure clearly, it was too late to cast the petrification spell.

Given Chimera's size and weight, even if the petrification spell hits accurately, it would be difficult to petrify its entire body (after all, the petrification spell is not the true petrification of Medusa and the basilisk, but rather something similar to muscle paralysis). And even if it were completely petrified, Chimera's 400-kilogram body would be too much for the doctor's small frame to withstand.

So the doctor wisely rolled on the spot and created a barrier between himself and Chimera.

A stone wall rose from the ground, but before it could block the doctor's figure, it was smashed by a tail of the Chimera.

The audience gasped in surprise. Chimeras are rare creatures, not even on display in zoos (mainly because they are extremely aggressive and never seem to calm down). Most people don't know much about them, and many believe that although they are fierce, they are relatively clumsy and can't fly, making them easy targets. It's like asking what you do when Mike Tyson punches you—keyboard warriors think you can just dodge it. But after witnessing the chimera's attack patterns and destructive power firsthand, the audience was shocked. They were amazed at how strong this creature really is.

Chimera's tail was like a venomous snake, capable of sweeping, whipping, coiling, and burrowing. In an instant, the doctor was beaten so badly that he was running around on the ground, with no chance to fight back. He was filled with regret. He thought to himself, "Damn it, I should have attacked from a distance. Why did I have to be so reckless as to try to achieve an 'overwhelming' victory by casting a spell at close range?"

But there's no going back in life. Once the doctor's magic was restored, he quickly teleported away again to avoid Chimera's continuous attacks from its tail.

The doctor appeared on the other side of the rock. He had just steadied himself and was about to cast a spell when he saw Chimera open its blood-red maw at him from afar. The doctor was stunned for a moment, and then a fierce flame shot out from Chimera's mouth, just like the flames of a fire dragon.

While the audience was still wondering, the old expert continued his explanation over the radio: "Ha, as you can see, although half of the Chimeras can't spit anything, 45% of them are born with certain talents, such as being able to spit fire, frost, or venom. When you encounter a Chimera in the wild, never underestimate it; you never know what deadly thing it might suddenly spit out when it opens its mouth."

The doctor was nearly roasted alive; he fled in panic, yelling, "I give up! I surrender!"

"Damn, he was cool for less than three seconds..." When Bai Lin saw the doctor appear, he thought he was a master, with such a perfect posture! However, he gave up before even five minutes had passed, which was speechless.

The audience was naturally outraged. Not only those who bet on the death doctor to win, but also those who paid for VIP tickets to watch the game were furious. It's like paying to watch a football match; no matter how bad things are going, at least finish the first and second rounds. What kind of game is it if one side concedes after only ten minutes?

The audience in the stands immediately stood up, hurling insults at the Death Doctor and the organizers. "We even had banners up, and this is what we get?" they yelled. Seeing the enraged crowd, the Death Doctor slunk off the stage, thankful that the organizers hadn't made him use his real name. Meanwhile, the Chimeramon on stage was blocked by the barrier surrounding the arena, unable to escape; otherwise, it would have already leaped into the stands and feasted.

Bai Lin had already left the preparation room and approached the somewhat flustered Patrice, saying, "Let me off the field. I can take on three opponents at once!"

Patrice glanced at Bai Lin. Although he didn't believe it, he instinctively knew the principle of trying anything, even if it seemed hopeless. Patrice grabbed the microphone and shouted, "The exciting battle is yet to come! Ladies and gentlemen, please be patient!"

Once the arena quieted down a bit, the lights suddenly shone on Bai Lin. He was wearing a tight-fitting leather armor with metal plates and a black mask, looking just like the legendary Robin Hood.

"Our third challenger comes from the mysterious East. He has trained for ten years in the Himalayas and is a mysterious ninja master! Let's welcome him! Night Demon!"

"WHAT? Ninja Master? What the hell?" Bai Lin was completely defeated by Patrice's rambling. Perhaps in the eyes of Westerners, a masked person is a ninja, and the most mysterious thing in the East is the Himalayas. Patrice is good at riding every trending topic. Even the fan circle planners are not as knowledgeable as you.

However, he couldn't very well say that Bai Lin was talking nonsense at this moment, so he could only do a front flip, flip down from the stage, draw his sword and perform a sword flower, and then very elegantly sheathed the sword.

"Night Demon just told me that he is fully capable of taking on three opponents at once. He will challenge the Chimera Beast, the Cat Leopard, and the Eight-Eyed Giant Spider in turn. Let's wait and see and witness the mysterious power of the East!" Patrice said in a high-spirited tone.

Hearing that the third challenger would be taking on three opponents at once, the audience became interested again, instantly forgetting their earlier unpleasantness and cheering.

Patrice wiped the sweat from her brow, thinking to herself, "Director, please don't let me down, or you can forget about getting your share..."

Bai Lin leaped onto the battle platform, but the Chimera Beast did not immediately pounce. Having lived for hundreds of years, it sensed an extremely powerful aura emanating from Bai Lin. This aura made the Chimera Beast very uneasy, but the hunger in its stomach and the ferocity in its blood prevented it from running away. So, it paced back and forth a few dozen feet in front of Bai Lin, its eyes fixed on him, as if trying to see through his power.

Bai Lin silently pulled out his magic wand from his pocket. Only then did the audience realize that Bai Lin was not only a "ninja" but also a wizard.

At the other end of the arena, the large iron cage of the cat-leopard was slowly rising. Patrice was in no hurry to release the cat-leopard, because if the cat-leopard and the chimera beast fought, or if the two beasts joined forces to kill Bai Lin instantly, it would not be the "stage effect" he wanted. So he wanted to see how strong Bai Lin was in combat.
