Revelation of the Way of Heaven

Chapter 53 Repairing the Heavenly Soul

When Han Kexin woke up again, it was already past five in the afternoon. After they had dinner, she once again led Qin Xiaochuan to that mysterious room on the second floor.

The room remained empty except for a large circular magic circle. This magic circle was different from the previous one. In each of the three directions of the magic circle was a small circle, with the three traditional Chinese characters for "Heaven," "Earth," and "Man" written in the small circle. Around the three large characters were a circle of smaller characters. In addition to the three small circles, seven stars were drawn around the large circle, connected by straight lines, making it look like a star map.

In addition to the aforementioned patterns, forty-nine lamps were arranged around the circular magic circle. Even Qin Xiaochuan, a layman, knew that such a complex magic circle was far from simple.

"Over the next few days, I will use the Seven Star Lamp to repair your damaged Heavenly Soul," Han Kexin said to him calmly.

"Is it dangerous?" He swallowed nervously.

Han Kexin glanced at him. "Not only does it have one, but it's also very big."

"Huh?" He looked at Han Kexin in disbelief. "If that's the case, why are you still making me do this? What if something goes wrong?"

Han Kexin said calmly, "Don't worry, the biggest risk of this spell is that the person being cast on will enter a state of suspended animation for the next seven days. In this state, they cannot be disturbed in the slightest, otherwise they will never wake up. Now that you are performing the spell here, you can completely avoid this risk."

"But there are still some risks, right?"

"That's right, the risks I just mentioned are only the most significant ones," Han Kexin replied confidently.

"Then why..."

"Risk and opportunity go hand in hand," Han Kexin said coldly. "Do you think the Blood Witch King position was obtained so easily? If you want to possess the strongest power, how can you possibly avoid the risks?"

"However, it's not that I wanted to be the Blood Witch King, nor did I want to have the strongest power. I was just forced into it." He muttered to himself, but dared not say a word out loud.

He then thought of another question and asked her, "You said I'll be in a state of suspended animation for the next seven days, does that mean I have to stop eating and drinking?"

Han Kexin nodded and said, "After entering a state of suspended animation, you only need to consume a very small amount of energy to survive. Didn't you just have dinner? This food is enough to sustain you for the next seven days."

"Uh, why didn't you tell me sooner that this was the last supper, so I could have eaten more?" he said helplessly.

Han Kexin expressed her entire attitude with just one eye roll.

"And what about my bowel and bladder problems?" he asked again.

"You haven't used any energy, so how could you possibly need to pee or poop?" Han Kexin seemed a little impatient. "Now, hurry up and sit in the magic circle."

"Wait, let me go to the toilet first," he said immediately. After all, it was a seven-day period, and he felt it was better to be on the safe side. If he ended up losing control of his bladder and bowels, he would be incredibly embarrassed.

"Go and come back quickly," Han Kexin said to him with a dark face.

Without saying a word, Qin Xiaochuan rushed to the toilet. After some effort, he returned to the room and sat cross-legged in the center of the magic circle as Han Kexin had requested.

"Take off your upper body clothes," Han Kexin said coldly.

His heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively asked, "What?"

Han Kexin gave him a cold look and said, "Take it off when I tell you to."

Seeing that she was really impatient, Qin Xiaochuan didn't dare to say anything more and reluctantly took off his T-shirt. To be honest, this was the first time since he started junior high school that a woman had forced him to take off his clothes. Before this, only his mother had ever done this.

After he took off his T-shirt, Han Kexin brought over a cup filled with cinnabar. She used a brush to dip into the cinnabar and drew a pattern on Qin Xiaochuan's back. After finishing the drawing, she wrote the character "敕" (chì, imperial edict) on his forehead.

After doing all this, Han Kexin handed him the Seven Star Lamp and said, "Infuse the Seven Star Lamp with spiritual power."

Qin Xiaochuan took the Seven Star Lamp, examined it, and finally held it on the lamp base with his right hand, channeling his spiritual energy into the lamp base.

At first, the Seven Star Lamp didn't change much, but as he input more and more spiritual power, one of the wicks in the lotus pod on the Seven Star Lamp suddenly lit up. At first, it was only a faint red, but then it grew brighter and brighter until the second wick also lit up. Later, as he input more and more spiritual power, all seven wicks lit up one after another. Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple—seven wicks, seven colors, reflected each other in the lotus-shaped lamp stand, dazzling and colorful.

Even disregarding its practical value, it is a masterpiece of art.

Han Kexin instructed him to place the Seven Star Lamp in the small circle with the character "天" (heaven) written on it, which was directly in front of him. Then she told him to sit up straight and prepare to cast the spell.

She sat cross-legged opposite him, first forming several hand seals, then parting her lips slightly and beginning to chant incantations, presumably reciting some kind of spell.

About half a minute later, all the lights around the magic circle suddenly lit up, and the room instantly became very bright. At that moment, Qin Xiaochuan felt a slight heat on his forehead, and the character "敕" on his forehead seemed to light up, emitting a faint red light. Then, a warm current surged from his forehead to his head. Before he could understand what was happening, everything went black, and he lost consciousness.

When he woke up again, it was seven days later.

When he opened his eyes, the first person he saw was Han Kexin. She was sitting in front of him, looking at him with a worried expression. This was the first time Qin Xiaochuan had ever seen her with such an expression. Not only that, but when she saw him wake up, a look of joy clearly appeared on her face. However, this expression was fleeting, and a moment later, she returned to her usual icy expression.

Although it was brief, Qin Xiaochuan was still taken aback when he saw her series of expressions just now.

"Is she concerned about me?" The thought flashed through his mind.

Han Kexin, oblivious to his thoughts, said calmly, "You're awake. How are you feeling now?"

"Not really," he said, stretching out his hands and shaking his head. "The only feeling is that I'm a little hungry."

"That means there were no negative effects, and it also means the spell was successful," Han Kexin said calmly, but there was no joy of success on her face. Qin Xiaochuan even felt that what he had just seen was just an illusion. She was always so indifferent.

"And your spiritual power is already at level 5," she added as a final sentence.

"What?" He couldn't believe his ears and quickly used his consciousness to sense his spiritual power. Sure enough, the spiritual power in his body had become more abundant and dense.

"He actually skipped a grade! That's possible!" He felt a dizzying sense of happiness.

"This is unbelievable! He jumped directly from level 3 to level 5 in spiritual power. If word got out, would people beat him up? Would they be jealous?" he thought excitedly.

What's most exciting is that he leveled up from level 1 to level 5 in less than two months, which is unprecedented in history.

He thought he was absolutely a genius, and based on that genius alone, he had to admit—

"I want to be the Blood Witch King."
