The second floor of the wooden house consisted of a simple living room and some storage rooms. After they went into the room through the balcony, Han Kexin asked Qin Xiaochuan and Mo Yu to wait in the room while she and Guo Shiyi went to the stairwell to observe the behavior of the landlady and her daughter.

Qin Xiaochuan and Mo Yu sat quietly on the stairs on the second floor. The stairwell was pitch black, and they could faintly hear voices and cooking sounds coming from downstairs.
