The next day at noon, sunlight streamed into the room through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.

Shen Yi opened his eyes groggily, his throat dry and sore, as if it had been rubbed with sandpaper. He instinctively wanted to call for water.

He propped himself up on the mattress, glanced around, and froze instantly.

The bed collapsed, and the broken pieces of wood lay askew to one side.

Clothes and cushions were scattered all over the floor, creating a complete mess.

Fragments of memories from last night flooded back to him, and Shen Yi's cheeks flushed bright red.

I felt a throbbing sensation in my temples.

Last night... was absolutely insane.

That bastard Su Qiu, doesn't he know when to stop?

His back is almost broken!

The sound of running water came from the bathroom, and soon after, someone wrapped in a bath towel came out.

Shen Yi didn't even look up, assuming it was Su Qiu, and spoke naturally, his voice still hoarse from just waking up:

"I want to drink water."

"Brother Shen Yi..."

A voice, trembling with sobs, rang out; it wasn't the one he expected.

Shen Yi looked up abruptly and saw Su Qian standing at the bathroom door, her hair wet and her eyes red and swollen.

Tears still clung to her face, as if she had suffered a tremendous injustice.

Before he could react, Su Qian had already thrown herself into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably, her shoulders shaking with each sob.

"Brother Shen Yi, how could you do this to me? We... Waaah... You've gone too far! Lu Chen and I were about to get engaged, how could you..."

Shen Yi froze, his mind a jumbled mess, completely bewildered.

Su Qian cried even harder, pounding her fist on his chest, her voice choked with sobs:

"Brother Shen Yi, I really don't know what happened. We were eating peacefully, how could you do that to me..."

Seeing that Shen Yi didn't react, Su Qian raised her head, her eyes brimming with tears, and looked at the stunned Shen Yi, gently punching his chest with her fist:

"Shen Yi, are you pretending to be stupid?"

Shen Yi looked at her, and Su Qiu's words from last night suddenly flashed through his mind.

"She drugged you and got a guy to sleep with you. You'll see her tomorrow."

His heart felt like it was being gripped tightly by something, and he asked in a hoarse voice:

"Last night...was it really you?"

Su Qian paused in her sobbing, then cried even harder, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of pearls.

"You suddenly felt unwell yesterday, and I was afraid that others would come in and disturb you, so I chased them all away."

"Who else could be in this room besides the two of us? Waaaaah... Brother Shen Yi, look at all this, you made all of this..."

She pointed to the mess around her, as if that were irrefutable evidence.

Shen Yi stared at her blankly, but his heart was in turmoil.

It wasn't the messy room, but a strange chill that rose from the bottom of my heart.

It seems he never truly understood Su Qian.

That's not how it is with Qianqian.

At least Qianqian won't lie.

He suddenly grabbed Su Qian's wrist, the force of which made her hiss in pain.

Shen Yi's gaze was sharp as a knife as he stared intently at her: "Qianqian, look me in the eyes and tell me, was it really you last night?"

Su Qian felt flustered under his gaze, but she gritted her teeth and nodded without hesitation, tears welling up in her eyes again.

"Ugh, Brother Shen Yi, you've gone too far... What do we do now? What about Lu Chen and me? You've taken my body... But I love Lu Chen..."

In the past, seeing Su Qian like this would have made Shen Yi feel extremely distressed.

She'll agree to whatever she wants.

But now, he felt as if his heart was being torn apart.

Everything was exactly as Su Qiu had described.

Su Qian's wrist was squeezed so hard it hurt, causing her to frown.

"Brother Shen Yi, you're hurting me..."

Before she could say anything more, Shen Yi suddenly released his grip and violently shoved her away.

"roll!"

Su Qian staggered back a few steps, fell to the ground, and stared at him in disbelief:

"Brother Shen Yi, are you... are you trying to shirk responsibility?"

"roll!"

Shen Yi's eyes were bloodshot, and for the first time he roared at her, his voice filled with barely suppressed anger and disappointment.

"Don't think I don't know, the person last night wasn't you at all!"

Su Qian panicked completely, her face turned deathly pale, and her lips trembled:

"Brother Shen Yi, what... what are you saying? It's me, it really is me! Look, there are still bite marks on my neck..."

She frantically tried to tear off the bath towel to prove it.

"Get out! Can't you understand human language?" Shen Yi's voice was as cold as ice, carrying an unprecedented determination.

Su Qian was startled by the ruthlessness in his eyes and dared not say another word.

He scrambled to his feet, grabbed his clothes, and stumbled out of the room.

She was terrified; if it had been a second later, she really suspected that Shen Yi would have killed her.

The room finally quieted down, and Shen Yi sat blankly on the mattress, his chest heaving violently.

She's changed slightly.

She's not the same as before.

Su Qiu stepped out from behind the curtains and patted off imaginary dust from her hands.

Xiao Xitian muttered in her mind:

"Why is the villain so incompetent? Shouldn't he have just slapped the female lead? How did he let her get away?"

Su Qiu glanced in Shen Yi's direction and said calmly:

"What do you know? You can't really hurt someone who's like a white moonlight until they're completely dead in your heart."

They always find excuses for their unrequited love.

They'll lick it then.

Shen Yi had already noticed her presence, but he didn't have the strength to look up.

Hearing the voice, he slowly raised his eyes, his voice hoarse as if it had been sanded, filled with a deep self-mockery:

"To see me make a fool of myself?"

Su Qiu took a few steps closer and threw the clothes she was holding next to him:

"Get dressed. If you're hungry, I'll take you to eat."

Shen Yi was stunned, somewhat unaccustomed to her calm demeanor.

No mockery, no ridicule, it's that simple?

Seeing that he didn't move, Su Qiu raised an eyebrow and said, "Hurry up, do you want me to help you get dressed?"

Shen Yi remained seated, his eyes dull as if covered in a layer of dust, his whole being listless, as if he had lost his soul.

Su Qiu didn't urge him anymore, and simply squatted down and reached out to take the pants next to his feet.

"Don't touch me!"

Shen Yi suddenly raised his hand and pushed her away.

Caught off guard, Su Qiu stumbled and fell to the ground, her palm scraping against the floor, sending a sharp pain through her.

Her eyes darkened instantly, and she grabbed the clothes next to her and threw them hard in front of Shen Yi.

She didn't say anything, patted the dust off her bottom, and turned to walk out.

The door slammed shut.

Shen Yi looked at the closed door, feeling empty inside.

He thought Su Qiu would approach him recklessly, just like before.

Even if it's an argument, even if it's forced, they won't just leave like that.

He buried himself in the blankets, his whole being enveloped in a low-pressure atmosphere, even his breathing carried a heavy smell.

Half an hour passed.

Just when Shen Yi thought Su Qiu wouldn't come back, the door was gently pushed open.

Su Qiu walked in carrying several lunch boxes and dumped them all on the low cabinet next to her:

"I bought you some food, including porridge, braised pork, and rice. Eat whatever you like."

She paused, then took out a tube of ointment from the bag and placed it beside her. "And this, apply it yourself."

"roll!"

Shen Yi suddenly lifted his head from under the covers, his eyes red, staring at her fiercely, as if venting something.

Su Qiu glanced at him, said nothing, and turned to leave.

Shen Yi was stunned; he thought Su Qiu would at least yell back.

Or, like before, use a more assertive approach to suppress his anger.

But she just left like that, as calmly as a stagnant pool.

He stared at the lunch boxes, then at the tube of ointment, his mind in turmoil.

But I had no energy left to think about anything else; all that was left was overwhelming exhaustion.
