Gruul Town!

Amidst a group of monster corpses, a group of guards and mercenaries are finishing off the still-breathing monsters.

"I was careless!"

Connor looked toward the Forbidden Forest, his face so dark it seemed like it could drip water.

He promised Anno that he would do his best to hold off the monster forces stationed in Gruul.

But when so many monsters retreated, they didn't notice at all.

If Mavis hadn't risked sneaking into the town and discovered that there weren't actually many monsters inside, Connor probably wouldn't have known that the monsters had retreated yet.

"These monsters are too cunning. They clearly sent over a hundred more monsters to the south gate, making it seem like they were going to attack. But who would have thought that these were just low-level monsters, expendable pawns! The main force actually sneaked out through the north gate!"

Brook kicked away the corpse of the monster beside him, gritting his teeth and cursing, "Damn it!"

Anno is still in the Forbidden Forest with fifty adventurers, and they're probably fighting a group of monsters right now.

If the escape route is cut off, the chances of survival are virtually nonexistent.

Mavis sighed, her expression complex, and said, "We deliberately appeared at the South Gate to draw the monsters' attention, just to cover for Anno in the north. We didn't expect that in the end, the monsters would still return."

"Captain, what do we do now?"

Brooke looked at Connor, a hint of sadness flashing in her eyes.

Several hours have passed, and nobody knows how long the monster army has been gone.

"What else can we do but retreat!"

Connor sighed and began to signal the nearby guards to retreat.

Mavis nodded helplessly.

Yes, what else can we do?

The return of the monster forces sealed Anno and his companions' fate, leaving them in a deadly predicament.

Those who rushed in to rescue people were simply lambs to the slaughter.

Gruul cannot stay either.

If the monster forces return, breaking out will not be so easy.

"Commander, Commander, reinforcements have arrived! Our reinforcements have arrived!"

Connor, who was packing his things to leave, suddenly heard a guard running and shouting in the distance.

"What reinforcements?"

Connor found it strange.

Apart from the adventurers present and those taken away by Anno, only a group of mercenaries remained among the professionals in Falling Rock Town.

To Connor, those mercenaries were hardly reinforcements.

"Huff... huff!"

The messenger ran up to Connor, panting, and said, "It's the army! The Third Prince's army has arrived!"

"The Third Prince's army!"

The guards and mercenaries nearby all lit up, and then followed Connor all the way to the town gate.

Looking out over the distant grasslands, an army was indeed advancing toward the town, only a few hundred meters away.

Connor quickly took the reins from his subordinate, mounted the horse, and rode off towards the army.

The warhorse charged across the wooden bridge over the town's moat and galloped away.

When he was only a few dozen meters away from the army, Connor slowed down, dismounted, and came to the front of the army.

Although Connor was just a guard in Valkam, he still recognized the flag of the Tenth Army of the Kingdom of Nigal!

After being stopped by several guards, Connor quickly shouted towards the front.

"I am Connor, the Lord of Val'kam and Captain of the Guard of Viscount Renault!"

The guards in front automatically made way, and then a handsome, noble-looking, tall and strong warrior riding a warhorse, wearing armor, stepped out.

It was none other than the third prince, Tester.

A knight wearing a full-face helmet ran up to Tester and explained, "Your Highness, Connor was recently dispatched to Falling Rock Town!"

"Connor, you seem to be from the town of Gruul. How come I heard from Viscount Reno that Gruul has been overrun by monsters from the Forbidden Forest?"

Tester looked down at Connor, who was kneeling in front of him, and asked with a frown.

He arrived in Valcalm with his army early this morning, exchanged intelligence with Viscount Renault, and then set off with his troops.

Accompanying him were guards sent by Viscount Renault and the captain of the guard, the latter being the knight in front of Tester.

Viscount Renault suggested that Tester first detour to Falling Rock, and then use Falling Rock as a base to conquer Gruul.

However, after learning that the monsters in the Forbidden Forest were only level 10 or below, and that only the Goblin King had combat power above level 10, Test decided to head straight to Gruul Town and conquer it as quickly as possible.

Then they mustered their forces to deal with the monsters of the Aiur Mountains.

But now, it seems that the town of Gruel has already been captured by Connor!

"Your Highness, the situation is like this..."

Connor quickly recounted what had happened to Tester.

The story recounts everything from Anno's proposal to launch a preemptive strike to the monster forces' withdrawal from the Forbidden Forest.

Tester glanced back at the army behind him and shouted, "Everyone, quicken your pace! Charge into the Forbidden Forest! Clear out the monsters and rescue the trapped warriors!"

"Roar!" "Roar!" "Roar!"

The army roared three times, then changed direction and ran towards the Forbidden Forest.

Seeing the imposing army, Connor suddenly felt a renewed sense of hope.

The lowest level of the army that came from the kingdom is level 11!

With these thousands of people, the Forbidden Forest could be easily conquered.

"Anno, you must hold on! We're here to save you!" Connor mounted his horse, clenched his fists, and led the way for the army.

"Your Highness, our purpose in going in is either to rescue people or to kill the Goblin King?"

Beside Tester, a warrior with three scars on his right cheek asked in a deep voice.

These are the guards sent by the king to protect Tester, and they are level 25!

"It's probably too late to save him."

Tester said expressionlessly, "A group of professionals who are not even level 11 could not possibly survive among hundreds of monsters."

Our goal this time is to clear out the monsters in the Forbidden Forest, and then use Gruul Town as a base to fight the monster army in the Aiel Mountains.

Thomas, take a few scouts and go check out the situation in the direction of the Ayer Mountains.

"Yes, sir!"

After a guard behind Tester responded, he led a group of men away from the main force and headed south toward the Aiers Mountains.

Rumble!

Thousands of soldiers began to run, and the earth trembled.

At the edge of the Forbidden Forest, just as Tester was giving orders to enter the woods, dozens of figures suddenly emerged from within.

Then, to Connor's and everyone else's surprise, a group of professionals covered in blood and dressed in tattered clothes walked out, carrying large bags and small packages.

These people walked out of the forest and were stunned when they saw the dark army outside.
