Shocking! The actress was dragged to the regent's bedchamber every night.

Chapter 310 The stars are not as bright as you are there

"Hmm..." she mumbled sleepily, snuggling closer to him.

Yu Chen turned the volume down to a level where he could just hear it and placed the remote control on the coffee table.

Su Wuli was already asleep.

He looked down at her face and reached out to tuck the stray hairs that were falling across her forehead behind her ear.

The sofa was too narrow, so Yu Chen's arm went under her waist and lifted her up, letting her lean against him.

Her legs were wrapped around his, and her hands were on his shoulders.

She buried her face in the crook of his neck, looking like a cat curled up in its owner's arms.

He reached out and pulled the blanket off the back of the sofa and covered her with it.

The blanket wasn't big; it just covered her back and his waist.

Her hand gently brushed against his shoulder, as if she had touched something in a dream.

The television volume was very low, and the host's laughter came from the speakers.

Light from outside peeked through the gaps in the curtains and fell in a thin layer on the floor.

She buried her face in the crook of his neck and whispered something against his neck.

He looked down at her; she was already asleep.

Yu Chen was not asleep, listening to the intermittent voices on the TV.

His hand was still slowly rubbing against her back, again and again.

She stirred in her dream and snuggled into his arms.

He hugged her tighter.

…………

When Su Wuli opened her eyes, the room was a little darker.

She lay on top of Yu Chen, her fingertips touching the skin on the side of his neck.

"Awake?" he asked.

"Mmm." She nodded, her voice still hoarse from just waking up, and rubbed her face against his chest.

I looked up and glanced towards the balcony; the light coming through the gap in the curtains was a reddish-orange.

Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, the sun hung in the gap between the two buildings, its light a deep orange-red.

She climbed off him and walked to the balcony in her slippers.

She opened the glass door, and a blast of cold air rushed in, making her shiver.

Her hair was blown by the wind, and she reached out to brush it aside, squinting as she looked at the western sky.

The sun was already setting behind the building, leaving only half of its face visible.

A gold border runs along the edge, turning the surrounding clouds pink and purple.

The lights on in the building across the street looked like someone slowly lighting a string of lanterns from bottom to top.

Yu Chen stood up from the sofa and walked behind her.

He draped the blanket over the back of the chair over her shoulders, then wrapped her and the blanket together in his arms.

I carried her to a chair on the balcony and sat her down on my lap.

He pulled the blanket up again and tucked her exposed hands back inside.

Su Wuli leaned against him, her face turned toward the gap between the two buildings to the west.

The sun sank a little lower, its orange-red light bathing the entire sky, and the glass curtain walls of the buildings reflected shimmering gold.

The streets were packed with cars, their headlights forming a river of light.

Are you cold?

Su Wuli shook her head.

Leaning against him, watching the sky slowly darken, she suddenly spoke as if possessed.

Will we still be able to see it tomorrow?

"able."

He pulled the blanket up to cover her chin.

Looking at the half-sun on the horizon, Su Wuli smiled and said, "It looks like a duck egg yolk."

Yu Chen rested his chin on her shoulder and replied, "Yes, it's similar."

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli turned her head and glanced at him.

He was looking at the yolk of the duck egg, as if the orange light was softening the always taut jawline of his face.

Su Wuli turned back to continue watching the sunset.

"The sun sets so fast. Just a moment ago there was half a face, now only a small tooth is left."

"It will rise again tomorrow."

"Um."

In a short while, the sun had completely set.

The high-rise buildings were also lit up.

The wind was chilly, and she shrank her neck.

Yu Chen pulled the blanket up a bit, covering her chin as well.

She leaned on his shoulder, looked into the distance, and suddenly asked, "Don't you get bored?"

"What's so boring?"

Su Wuli paused for a moment and then said, "Watching the sunset is the same every day."

His voice was low, "It's different."

Upon hearing this, her eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

Whether it was the wind or something else, she lowered her head and buried her face in the crook of his neck.

His arms tightened around her waist.

Su Wuli was lying on his chest when she suddenly touched the collar of his T-shirt.

She withdrew her fingers, looked up at his neck, and then at his arms.

The man's forearms were exposed outside the blanket, the night light casting flickering shadows on the veins.

She reached out and touched his arm. "Are you cold?"

"It's not cold," he said casually, neither lying nor telling the truth.

Su Wuli quickly lifted a corner of the blanket covering her and wrapped it around his arm, covering his forearm and the back of his hand.

The blanket wasn't big enough; it was too short on her side when it covered his arm.

A gust of wind blew in through the gaps in the blanket, and she couldn't help but shiver.

The next instant, Yu Chen reached out and pulled the blanket off his arm, then covered her back with it.

Wrap her up tightly.

He opened his lips and said, "No need."

Su Wuli lifted the blanket again and wrapped it around his arm.

Yu Chen reached out to lift it.

She held his hand down to stop him from pulling, then raised her chin and said, "Use it."

His tone was very firm.

Yu Chen looked at her chin, that white, slightly upturned part.

He didn't say anything, but instead pulled the blanket up to cover her face as well.

She felt stuffy under the blanket for a while, then reached out and pulled the blanket off her face.

Her hair was a mess and covered her face.

Su Wuli brushed her hair aside and glared at him, trying to be fierce, but after a moment she laughed.

"I want to watch the sunset."

Yu Chen turned his head and glanced out the window; it was already completely dark.

"It's already dark, where can we find the sunset?"

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli's face showed a hint of embarrassment, and she pulled the blanket up to cover her entire face, muffled her voice behind the blanket.

"Then I want to see it too."

He looked at her like that and smiled.

He reached out and pulled the blanket off her face, but she tried to pull it back up.

In the end, she still couldn't beat him.

With her shield gone, she turned her head away and ignored him.

Yu Chen reached out and gently brushed away the strands of hair that were plastered on her face.

The movement was very light; his fingertips slipped through her hair.

"Don't watch the sunset, watch the stars."

As soon as she finished speaking, Su Wuli turned to look at him.

Then I looked outside; the city's night sky was covered with thick, low-hanging clouds.

Not a single star can be seen.

She looked for a while, then turned her gaze back to his face. "The stars here aren't as bright as the ones over there."

After she finished speaking, she lowered her head and buried her face in his chest.

There's nothing much to see, just streetlights.
