The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy
Chapter 7 Mohr
Morales sighed and remained silent for a moment.
Seeing Morales's expression, Glenn was extremely conflicted. He knew Caesar had a way to get everyone out of the department store, just like he had done with Rick before.
However, if he were to say it, it would create a very awkward situation, and might even lead to Caesar and the others not taking him with them when they left.
boom--
boom--
boom--
Suddenly, gunshots rang out.
Caesar and the others could hear it clearly. He looked up at the ceiling and knew it was More.
That foul-mouthed bastard who's only loyal to his brother.
Upon hearing the gunshot, the zombies outside the glass door quickened their pace, attracting other zombies from the surrounding area and instantly increasing the pressure on the glass door.
"It's Mor." Andrea said through gritted teeth, clearly seething with hatred for Mor.
Morales's expression immediately turned cold, and he explained to Caesar, "We have a member named Mor. He's a madman."
After saying that, he walked towards the stairs and started climbing.
Caesar glanced back at Rip, "You stay here and keep watch. Call me if there are any problems."
Rip nodded.
"Jimmy, come with me."
Caesar beckoned to Jimmy, and together they climbed the stairs.
On the rooftop of the department store, Moore held a sniper rifle, aiming at the zombies on the distant street.
With a thud, the zombie fell to the ground.
"Ha ha ha ha--"
"Didn't they even try to dodge? A bunch of idiots, don't they have brains?"
Moore's rant was uttered with no sense of tension whatsoever, but rather with the relaxed feeling of strolling through his own living room.
With a creak, the iron gate opened, and T-boy and Morales went upstairs first.
T-boy couldn't wait to start criticizing, speaking in a tone that sounded a lot like rap.
Mo'er stared at T-boy like he was a monkey, not caring about anything else: "Are you rapping, you black devil!"
T-boy, triggered by the underlying logic, instantly flew into a rage and pounced on the attack with his large frame.
Morales sensed something was wrong and attacked Mor from behind.
Moore, holding a gun, swung the butt of the gun hard, hitting T-Zai. He took a step forward and smashed the butt of the gun down with it.
T-boy skillfully covered his face with both hands and curled up as much as possible to prepare for the attack.
Morales grabbed Moore's back, but Moore was stronger and broke free instantly.
He would then deliver an elbow strike with his backhand.
The blow sent Morales flying two or three meters before he collapsed, clutching his face.
For a moment, Jacqueline and Andrea screamed incessantly, and Glenn was frantic but unable to help.
The cries of pain from T-boy and Morales continued.
Moore stood up laughing maniacally, spat on T-boy's chest, and rubbed it insultingly. "Just lie there obediently. You guys are only suited to lying down."
Mohr spun around, glanced at everyone's faces, and said smugly.
"Now that we've come to the apocalypse, we need a captain. We need a wise and capable captain to lead everyone out of Atlanta."
"I think this is the perfect place for me. Do you agree, little girl?"
Mohr grinned lewdly as he looked at Andrea with raised eyebrows.
Andrea shrank back uneasily, hesitated for a moment, and then raised her hand.
Moore then looked at Glenn, who slowly raised his hand.
Whenever Moore looked at someone, that person was forced to raise their hand.
Seeing this, Rick took a deep breath and was about to step forward.
After taking two steps, Caesar placed one hand in front of his chest.
"Your concussion hasn't healed yet, you should rest. I'll take care of it," Caesar said, turning his head slightly.
Caesar strode toward More.
Moore had already noticed the three unfamiliar faces: "Oh, are the county sheriffs and cowboys going to take over Atlanta?"
Caesar ignored the witty remarks, suddenly quickened his pace, rushed in front of More, and grabbed More's shirt with both hands.
Moore's expression changed, and he was about to swing the butt of his rifle.
The next moment, a feeling of weightlessness washed over me.
Caesar used all his muscles to forcefully wrap his arms around Mor's legs, suspending him in the air and lifting him upwards.
Brute force slammed Moore heavily to the ground.
The gun in Moore's hand flew far away, and he arched his body like a boiled red shrimp.
"Fuck—"
After a while, Moore struggled to his feet, his steps unsteady, and spat.
"Hey cowboy, you're pretty good, daring to ambush me."
"Now, let's face it head-on. I won't let you have your way."
Moore grinned, trying to make his smile as ferocious as possible.
Caesar didn't stand on ceremony and stepped forward to meet him.
He twisted his body to dodge Moore's punch, lowered his body slightly, and unleashed a powerful punch with his right arm.
It hit Moore's liver with pinpoint accuracy.
Liver-Exploding Fist!
Moore's eyes bulged, his body arched, and he slowly fell to the ground, clutching his wound and remaining silent for a long time.
"Rick, handcuff him."
"We're done for the day," Caesar said to Rick.
Rick nodded and walked over, took out the handcuffs from his waist, and cuffed Moore to the pipe next to him.
"Give me the key."
Caesar reached out his hand to ask for it.
"it is good."
Caesar tossed the key around, a mocking look in his eyes.
That single key almost changed the course of Moore's life. If T hadn't lost the key, Moore might have actually become Rick's right-hand man, alongside Daryl.
Well, of course, it's also possible that Moore was completely dissatisfied with Rick and incited Daryl to loot the entire camp.
Things are unpredictable.
"Glenn, did you find a way out when you went out?"
After resolving the issue with Moore, the group began to consider how to leave Atlanta, this dead city.
Morales asked Glenn if Glenn had gone out to find Rick because he was looking for a way out.
Glenn paused for a moment, looked at Caesar, and stammered.
"I...I, I went out...and found that path...um."
Andrea frowned and said, "Glenn, what's wrong? Why are you stuttering?"
Glenn had no choice but to make up a story: "There was an explosion over there, and a lot of walkers rushed over. Actually, there are very few walkers blocking this side of the department store anymore. As long as we grab our weapons and rush out, we should be able to get out."
Glenn thought that Caesar and his men had killed a lot of walkers and forced their way in, and now there were so few walkers here.
Even if they lack experience or something, they should be able to make it through.
Morales ignored this completely: "You really didn't find a breach?"
"No." Glenn knew that Morales was asking about roads with no walkers or only a few walkers, meaning he really hadn't found any.
Caesar expressed his understanding of Morales's conservative approach.
Walking corpses themselves are not scary, but the fear they evoke can be far greater than the fear of walking corpses. When hundreds or thousands of walking corpses swarm you, that fear multiplies exponentially.
Anyone would be afraid.
To survive in the apocalypse, one must overcome the fear of facing the zombies.
In the original series, Rick suggested going through the horde of walkers, but Morales and the others still disagreed, even though they wouldn't have to fight the walkers directly.
Rick, an outsider, pulled Glenn along, and the two of them embarked on an adventure to save a group of people.
